Features to know about

Effortless Installation: Custom Fit T-One Connector

Say goodbye to the hassle of complex wiring installations. The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness swiftly plugs into your vehicle’s pre-existing wiring system, making the process a breeze. Designed for a custom fit, this harness ensures everything aligns perfectly with your vehicle’s configuration, making it an excellent choice for both seasoned DIYers and beginners.

Reliable Power Supply: ModuLite Powered Converter

Are you tired of worrying about electrical system overloads? The built-in ModuLite Powered Converter takes the load off your vehicle's delicate wiring system by drawing power directly from your car’s battery. This ensures your trailer lights illuminate perfectly without affecting your vehicle's electrical system, offering peace of mind during long hauls.

Versatile Trailer Compatibility: 4-Pole Flat Connector

The T-One harness comes equipped with a 4-pole flat trailer connector, which seamlessly powers your trailer's signal lights. Compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters, this connector provides versatility for towing different types of trailers. It's perfect for making sure you can hit the road with just about any trailer.

Durable Build for Longevity: 16-Gauge Bonded Wire

Built to last, the T-One harness sports a robust construction with 16-gauge bonded wire, designed to endure harsh weather conditions and heavy use. This sturdy build translates into reliable performance, ensuring your trailer lights function smoothly trip after trip.

Hassle-Free Maintenance: Dust Cap for Connector Protection

Keep your trailer connector clean and functional with the included dust cap. This nifty feature safeguards your connector's contacts from dirt and moisture, reducing the risk of corrosion and enhancing the longevity of your wiring setup.

High Capacity Compatibility: Max Amperage Support

Designed to handle significant loads, the T-One harness boasts max amperage of 4.2 amps per circuit for stop/turn lights and 7.5 amps per circuit for tail lights. This robust capacity ensures your trailer lights shine bright and clear, keeping you visible and safe on the road.

Specs

Electrical Specifications

  • Maximum amperage:
    • Stop/turn lights: 4.2 amps per circuit
    • Tail lights: 7.5 amps per circuit

Warranty

  • 1-Year limited warranty

Installation

  • This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your rear cargo area, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove the interior trim panels to access the harness.
  • Once you've plugged in the T-connector, find the 1-pin housing that is taped to the tail light harness on the driver's side and plug in the 1-pin connector on the T-One. Locate the fuse box under the hood of your vehicle and insert the provided 15-amp fuse into the 20A Trailer location.
  • Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your cargo area.
  • It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

  • A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.

Note

  • This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

by:

Great price & product. Watched video on web site & about an hour later it was good to go. Very easy to install.

by:

First couple of steps were easy to install. Last step running wire length of vehicle was a pain in the butt.

by:

Product is as advertised would be nice if it came with the bracket as well as a new grommet for replacing the one in the trunk. Otherwise no complaints. It was a pain in the butt getting the wire routed through the firewall but nothing makes that job any easier other than paying someone to do it.

by:

Super simple instructions to wire the trailer to the vehicle. Took me 45 min to do. Hardest part was putting the trunnk back together but still got it all done in under 45 minutes.

by:

i'm very please with the product. it was easy to install. Video helped a lot!

by:

Product installed exactly as described video instructions. Product (hitch and wiring were as advertised and fit up just as expected.

Easy to install with video you have on your web site. Nice to get a product that has everything you need to complete the job. You are on the cutting edge by providing the install videos on your products. Thanks

by:

Much more simple to install then I ever would have thought. The video was very helpful. Wish more sites would post installation videos.

by:
2011 Nissan Murano

The wiring installation video makes the installation easier. I wish they have current video for 2011 Murano because there is a little more steps to do it. The written instruction that comes with it did not give how to remove the panel.

by:

I have yet to find a better e-order website! Part came early, instructional video was extremely helpful, and I didn't have to read some chinese-written instructions. Well done etrailer - A+

by:

The product was shipped almost immediately and arrived well before the expected time. The installation video was outstanding and I was able to install the whole thing in less than two hours. Awesome customer service and excellent communication. Great website and very user friendly!!

Thank you!

by:

Easy install , hated the part of runing the power wire to the battery but all in all 20 / 30 mins to install plug and play , i had the hitch and wireing installed in an hour and was down the road with my boat.

by:
Nissan Murano

Install was so easy and the hitch looks great on the Murano. All you can see from the rear is the receiver. Shipping was so fast and I got a confirmation # the next day. Thanks

by:

I was empressed with the ease of installing your "plug and use"
wiring harness. The plugs all interfaced with the Murano's connectors (plugs) perfectally.

Nissan Murano

Everything bolts up like they say but it is a major pain to run it through the firewall on a Nissan Marano - expect about 3 hours to install if you do it right and run it right along with the factory wiring harness.

by:

I installed the wiring for the trailer hitch. It was not quite as intimitadating as I thought it would be. I was really dreading this portion of the project. The video hit the mark. If I had to depend solely on the printed instructions, it would have been a more challengeing task. The video helped me to know what tools I needed and how to access the connectors.. The most difficult task was routing the wire to the postive battery terminal underneath the car and finding a good path to avoid the muffler, hot spots, pinch points etc.

by:
Nissan Murano

Install was so easy and the hitch looks great on the Murano. All you can see from the rear is the receiver. The light light harness plugged right in no problems. Shipping was so fast and I got a confirmation # the next day. Thanks

by:

The instructions for this product were very basic. It took a little bit to figure out how to release the various plastic fasteners and wire connectors. Also, took a while to route the wire from the harness to the battery, which is mandatory with this harness. I've used 2 other harnesses from eTrailer and never needed the wire to the battery, because it was always for auxiliary and battery charging.
Still, I am happy with this harness, since I didn't have to splice into the vehicle's wiring.

  • Trailer Brake/Turn Signal Lights Not Working with Wiring Harness 118653 on a 2011 Nissan Murano
It sounds like there is a bad ground connection somewhere. The first thing to check would be the converter for the wiring harness # 118653. Make sure that it is grounded to a clean metal surface. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 if needed to test the wires going into the converter for the proper signals. If they are not correct then there is a problem with the connections to the vehicle such as a bent pin, or a problem with the vehicle wiring. If the signals are correct going into the...

  • Troubleshooting Non-Working Trailer Wire Harness For A 2011 Nissan Murano
It sounds like the converter box on your trailer wire harness is bad and you harness just needs to be replaced. This is pretty normal over time so before you waste money having someone else retest everything and then charge you for a new harness you can just order one yourself. I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118653. This harness comes with plug in connectors for your 2011 Nissan Murano to make installation fast and easy. You need a wiring kit and I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118653 paired with part # ETBC7L Which will give you a working 7-way to pluf in the trailer this will allow the lights and the power to get to the plug. • How to Install 7-Way Trailer Connector on 2011 Nissan Murano
There isn't a plug and play option available for a 2011 Nissan Murano, but I can certainly walk you through how to make this work. You'll first need to install a 4 pole harness to access the vehicle's taillight wiring for the trailer. I'd recommend using part # 118653. How you proceed from there will depend on the trailer you're pulling. If the trailer does not have brakes or if it's light enough that they aren't needed, you can just use an adapter like # 37185 to convert the 4 pole provided...

The black box on the Trailer Wiring Harness, # 118653, for the 2009 Nissa Murano is actually a converter box that makes the signals that come from your vehicle compatible with the trailer. It does not provide electric brake functions. For this, you will need to install a brake controller. To start, you will need to install the # 118653 harness. You will then need to install a 7-Way trailer connector, # 37185. The 4-Way you installed plugs into the back of this connector first, and the...

  • Which Hitch Will fit on a 2013 Nissan Murano?
There are three hitches that are confirmed fits for your 2013 Nissan Murano, including the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit, # 13577. This hitch will fit on your Murano even if it is a CrossCabriolet, whereas the other two hitches will not. You will also need a wiring kit, and I recommend the ModuLite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # C59236 if your Murano is a CrossCabriolet, and the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118653, if it is not.

Both Wiring Harnesses do the same task, however, I recommend the T-One Harness over the Curt Trailer Harness. We have the best luck with the Tow Ready T-One wiring harnesses over the Curt harnesses. This harness is custom-designed for your Murano and will install by simply plugging the T-One connector to the existing ports located behind the trim panels in the cargo area on the driver and passenger side. This will provide a 4-Way connector on the vehicle to hookup to your trailer and power its rear signal lights. I have attached an installation...

  • Dead Battery in 2012 Nissan Murano After Installing TowReady T-One Wiring Harness 118653
First I suggest you test the output from the 4-pole flat connector to verify normal operation of the module. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2979 to do this testing. The video shows how to use it. Disconnect your trailer, ground the tester to the vehicle, and test each pin one at a time. The bad news is that your 2013 Nissan Murano looks like it is the limiting factor instead of your Curt hitch receiver. The trailer lights get their power from the battery so if not connected the trailer lights will not work.
