Question:
What kind of wire harness is better for a towing hitch

For your 2011 Nissan Murano, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118653 as long as your vehicle is not the CrossCabriolet model. This harness is custom-designed for your Murano and will install by simply plugging the T-One connector to the existing ports located behind the trim panels in the cargo area on the driver and passenger side. This will provide a 4-Way connector on the vehicle to hookup to your trailer and power its rear signal lights. I have attached an installation video on the 2011 Nissan Murano that you can use for reference.
If your Murano is in fact the CrossCabriolet model, I instead recommend the # C59496. This is a universal, hardwire kit that includes everything needed to install the 4-Way connector. I have attached the written installation details on this harness for you to check out.
Since it sounds like you will be doing some towing, you will also need a ball mount. I have included an article that explains how to choose the best one for towing your trailer level, along with a link that will take you to our available selection.
