Installation

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the interior trim panels in your rear cargo area. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to the fuse panel near your car battery. Remove the fuse panel's cover and find the stud that has the red battery cable attached to it. Connect the hot lead to this stud using the included ring terminal. Then insert the included fuse into the integrated fuse holder.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area. It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

This hitch installation was almost a snap I love the fishing lures made it simple & are stress free if it wasn't for etrailer [video] link I probably wouldn't have done it in the time manner that I did installation instruction considering I was working on the ground could have noted that passenger side exhaust would be hanging and you would have to work around but it roughly took me 2hr 15mins that's including putting in the easy to install trailer wiring kit this thing is a no-brainer to hook I would recommend put in a black box module down in between the battery and the fuse box is a perfect spot and for the ground location all in all I'm ready to roll with this thing

Shipping time estimates are a joke. Order tracking page is outdated.

The product might be ok I'm not sure it's been double the estimated shipping time and my order hasn't arrived.

Buy local even if it costs a bit more. Trust me, I'm a stranger on the internet

This product fits just right and is a great quality. The only little problem I had was that they directions said to put the ground wire on a bolt but it would not fit. I easily and quickly found a different spot. But that should not stop you from buying this great product. I'm very glad I found something that finally work . I give it a 100% A+

Curt hitch looks good and feels solid. I did watch you video but it was for a 2011 model. Totally different from my 2012 which has true duel exhaust. However the info on the video did help a bunch with the threading of the screws and all of the hardware. Wiring was a breeze w/ the T-Connector. Looks like factory to me. Good stuff and yes you are my first choice in buying any of the product you sell Thx.

See what our Experts say about this Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring

  • Will Draw-Tite Class II Receiver Hitch # 36548 Fit a 2011 Dodge Charger R/T
Any of the hitches we offer for the 2011 Charger will fit most models, including the R/T model. We have found that installing the hitch on dual exhaust models involves temporarily removing the muffler on the drivers side. On models that have dual exhaust tips on each side (for a total of 4), the muffler will be welded, instead of being clamped into place. This makes removing the muffler impossible, therefore the hitch CANNOT be installed. If your Charger only has the single exhaust tip...

  • Trailer Wiring for a 2013 Dodge Charger RT
For a 2013 Dodge Charger you can use # 118560 to add a trailer wiring harness. The other option is to use # C56135 from Curt. I have included a link to the installation instructions for this harness for you.

  • Parts Needed to Transport a 330 lb Power Chair with a 2011 Dodge Charger
If you look at your owner's manual on page 428 it states that the max tongue weight for your 2011 Dodge Charger is 100 lbs if you have the 3.6L engine or 200 lbs if you have the 5.7L engine. Because of this you will need to tow a small trailer behind your Charger to carry your power chair. Even though it is rated for more weight than your Charger can handle, I recommend installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76145 for your trailer hitch. You also need a ball mount...

  • Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for a 2012 Dodge Charger
For your 2012 Dodge Charger you would want a Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring # 118560 like you referenced, or you could get a Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56135. I attached a copy of the installation instructions for the # C56135 for you to check out, but to install it you will basically need to access the tail light harnesses of both your driver and passenger side taillights and plug the connectors from the # C56135 inline with those harnesses. You will then need to...

  • Trailer Hitch Kit Recommendation for a 2011 Dodge Charger R/T
We have both Class II and III trailer hitches available for your 2011 Dodge Charger R/T. If you are going to use Class III hitch # C13093 then I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. If you also need a 2-5/16 inch use # 63847. For trailer wiring use # 118560. If you are using a Class II trailer hitch, like Curt Class II hitch # C12064 or Draw-Tite hitch # 36548, you can use ball mount # C45520. For...

  • Towing Capacity of 2014 Dodge Charger V6
According to the owner's manual, the 2014 Dodge Charger has a 1000 lb towing capacity, regardless of the engine it's equipped with. For a hitch, I'd recommend the Curt Class III, part # C13093. You won't be able to take full advantage of the capacity of the hitch itself, but I would still recommend going with the more popular 2 inch receiver provided by a Class III hitch because there's a much larger selection of hitch mounted accessories available for a Class III hitch. To tow with...

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2012 Dodge Charger
I have a solution for you, but the trailer wiring harness part # 118404 is for older models of the Dodge Charger than your 2012 model so I cannot recommend it for you. Instead you would want the part # 118560 as it has been confirmed as a fit for your vehicle and would work well. I attached an install video that shows it being installed on a 2012 Charger just like yours.
