Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.
Each Curt circuit board is made using high-quality components that are pieced together in the most technologically savvy fashion, leading to greater predictability and reliability in functioning.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com And today, we're gonna take a look at this CURT T-connector vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector. Now, this is a custom fit harness that is designed to fit the 1998 to 2000 Isuzu Amigo, the 1998 to 2002 Honda Passport, and then the 1998 to 2004 Isuzu Rodeo, and then finally, the 2000 to 2003 Isuzu Rodeo Sport. So this harness is going to give you a four-pole flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. This is also going to be compatible with your five-pole, six-pole, and seven-pole adapters, but those adapters are sold separately. Also included is this detachable dust cap for the four-pole flat connector that covers up those connection points when this plug is not in use.
Now, a taillight converter is built into this wiring harness. Now because most trailers run on a two-wire system where the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire, the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions on your vehicle so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's taillights. This will not affect how your taillights on your vehicle operates. The maximum amperage for the stop turn lights is three amps per circuit.
And for the taillights, it's five amps per circuit. This converter is also constructed using surface-mount technology for consistent, reliable performance, maximizing trailer light yield and intensity, while producing minimal heat, ensuring superior operation in rough road conditions. This also includes some double adhesive tape so that you can mount this converter box in an out of the way location when you are installing this harness. Now, this custom fit T-connector wiring harness has these T-connector plugs that are going to plug into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind your driver side and passenger side taillights. You will have to remove the taillight assemblies to access this harness.
And what's great about this harness is there's not gonna be any cutting or splicing of wires. And then once installation is complete, the four-way connector is going to be stowed beneath your vehicle near your trailer hitch. A mounting bracket is recommended to keep this connector secure and that is sold separately from this harness, but you can find a compatible mounting bracket here at etrailer.com. It is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical connections. The plugs on your vehicle and the four-pole flat connector itself, that's going to help prevent corrosion.
So on your screen, I am including our item number for a tube of that dielectric grease and you can just take that item number and put it in the search field of our website and that will take you to that grease and you can add that to your order if you so desire. Also included with this is going to be a self-tapping screw so that you can mount this wire for a good ground connection and also some cable ties to secure any slack in your wires and make sure everything is nice and tight and secure. Instructions are also included to walk you through the installation process. And that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
Perfect fit for my '99 Rodeo. The trickiest part was getting the plugs through the bumper up to the taillights, but I used a flexible wire cable to fish it through, and it worked well. I drilled a pilot hole for the ground wire attachment into the pad that holds the driver side rear body mount after scraping off the dirt and paint. The included self tapping screw did the rest. The included zip ties were a nice touch keep the wires tidy.
I received the item on time. It was just as described. I installed wiring harness on my truck with no problems at all. When I needed a little more help with the installation, I just viewed the video on U tube. The works great with no problems.
Product worked great and it got here in a timely manner. So far the harness works great, and the site was very easy to navigate.
Easy to install and work's perfect with no issues. Very good product for the DIY types.
Great help
thanks
Let you know when I install it
