This sturdy steel D-ring creates a stable tie-down point in your trailer or truck bed. Mount D-ring to surface of bed or remove the plastic gasket for recessed mount. Installs easily with the included backing plate and hardware. WLL is 265 lbs.

Features:

  • D-ring anchor provides tie-down point in your utility trailer or truck bed
    • Perfect for securing a rope, cargo net, bungee cord, or ratchet strap (sold separately)

    • Surface mounting doesn't require you to cut a hole in your trailer or truck bed
    • Recessed mounting helps prevent D-ring from interfering as you roll cargo in and out of your trailer or truck bed
  • Removable plastic gasket helps to create a seal against dirt and water when D-ring is surface mounted
    • Also reduces corrosion and oxidation
  • Backing plate reinforces the surface of your trailer where the tie-down is attached
  • Zinc-plated steel resists rust and corrosion
  • Bolt-on installation on flat surface
    • For recessed mount, cut a hole in your trailer or truck bed for the recessed portion of the D-ring to sit inside
    • Backing plate attaches directly under D-ring anchor and on the opposite side of the mounting surface
    • 2 Nuts, 2 lock washers, and (2) 1/4" x 2-1/4" bolts included

Specs:

  • Maximum load (break strength): 800 lbs
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 265 lbs
  • Anchor:
    • Base diameter: 4"

Distance between mounting holes on Brophy D-ring anchor

Note: Tie-down anchors must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the anchors being used. For example, if you are using anchors with a WLL of 100 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 400 lbs, then you need at least 4 anchors to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use anchors in pairs.

I'm not exactly sure why these cost what they do, so -1 star.

Installation is super easy.

USE THE BACKING PLATE to drill the 4 holes. Don't mark and then drill. Just use the plate and let er rip. I used a jig saw with a fresh wood blade for the big hole. No bother with a giant hole saw.

The ad shows regular hex head bolts, but mine came with the want regular carriage bolts.

I am not too excited they are not galvanized though. These things are right there on the underside of the trailer bound to turn into rust turnips, so be sure to spraw with some weather protection the underside.

These things are huge.
Fit and finish
are better than expected.
I received a complete order down to every nut and lock washer.
I couldn’t find this style and load rating anywhere else.
Very pleased.
I used a 4 1/2” hole saw, works perfectly....not sure why the instructional video calls for 4 3/4”

Brophy swiveling D ring tie downs are pretty awesome. Super heavy duty, really like the Swivel design. By having the freedom of movment the ancor is never in a bind, at any angle and tension is pulled evenly from any direstion. The matching backing plates are a must as far as I'm concerned. Installation was easy. All holes on the backing plates ligned up well. No issues. I will give it up to etrailer.com also for the fast shipping. It means alot when you have a project going on. Over all satisfied with my purchase.

Just remember, these are rated to 6000 lbs, but the floor board they're bolted to probably aren't. You'll definitely want a steel backer behind these if you're really going to crank down on them.
These were additional tie downs for a race car, so I welded 3/16" plate between the trailer's frame rails and bolted through those.

I wish the 4 items would of all been the same. In my order I got one which had carriage bolts and three had standard bolts. Also two of the four had four holes in the bottom for water drainage. I did drill the other two to match. I would of liked to have all carriage bolts but they need to have square holes on top part, only one of mine had. Thanks.

I installed of these as part of my project to replace the floor of my 16 ft. utility trailer. I was able to drill and chisel the countersink without too much trouble. It is challenging to drill the holes for the bolts to align perfectly with the bottom bracket. In fact, I am not sure I could have done so with all the other boards installed. I recommend doing this as part of a new floor install. I Lao agree with some other comments that the bolt holes are very close to the countersink hole. This makes it very difficult to avoid collapsing the bolt drill hole into the countersink hole, which further affects the ability to drill straight. I think if I were to do it again, I’d mark the boards, take them off the trailer, and use a drill press. All that said, I really like the look and function of these anchors. I think they will perform well in the rough-sawn oak floor. Here are some pics of the finished job:

Tie-down rings installed easily and are more sturdy and heavy duty than I expected. The swivel is nice as it makes the anchorage more versatile. Plus they look great.

by:

Well made product, quick shipping, great customer service once again.
I used a router with a mortise bit to get a round and flat bottomed hole to install the hold-downs.
Much cleaner than the "use a hole saw and screwdriver out the chunks" install shown on the video.
Only issue is that the kits come with regular bolts.
Should have carriage bolts to allow loaded material to slide across the top of the folded tie downs.

Good, solid piece. 2K WLL and 6K break strength are higher than most other comparable swivel D-rings and flush mount D-rings. I have a steel deck trailer and one of my flush mount D-rings failed so I replaced all 4 with these. Being as mine is steel deck, welding is a solid install. I trimmed the edge flange for a tidy fitment for surface mount but later decided to just mount from below and weld in from the top. It came out very nice, I suggest similar mounting for those with steel trailers. of course, I had to grind off the zinc from the weld zone and painted with rustoleum both on top and from below.

by:

Great quality product. Hardware was perfect for my utility trailer install. I would recommend a 4 1/2” hole saw.

by:

I would use a 4 1/2 inch whole saw to get these in. Other than that, they are pretty great to install and work flawlessly.

Great quality and easy to install.

by:

Great product. Exactly what I needed.

by:

Order came earlier then what you indicated and the product was as described. I thought the shipping was a little extreme.

by:

GOT EVERYTHING I ORDERED, THANKS.
THE
TRAILER WHEELS ARE GREAT LOOKING.

by:

I haven't installed these yet but they seem to be of very good quality (very sturdy). The shipping was super fast. As always, etrailer.com is a pleasure to deal with.

by:

The website and service are second to none. I had a question about which product to use and within a couple of hours etrailer had an expert reply, creating a web page with detailed information and links to suggested solutions. Also a photo of the guy who wrote it and his name and email address in case I needed more help. I went ahead and ordered and well within the promised time the box arrived. To me this is the standard by which all other online retailers should be compared. Whenever I need anything they sell, etrailer is the place I will return for more purchases. I couldn't be happier with the company.

by:

These parts are good quality, and etrailer's expediting and shipping is always great. Always my first "go to" for trailer parts.

by:

Easy to install, these rings came just in time to anchor down deck furniture during the hurrincane which will strike tomorrow. Seems like a good product, far more than I needed but it will work well.

Two of the four pieces I bought are rusting badly

by:

After 1 year of use, no issues. Holds down my ATV as it should. In fact, this tie down is twice as a good as the factory tie downs that came with the trailer!

by:

Always impressed and never disappointed with etrailer. Items delivered sooner than expected, packaged well with all parts intact and no damage. Highly recommend this anchor tie downs for ATV or any items you want secured properly.

I have used these tie downs 1 time so far, but worked excellent. Absolutely no movement of my ATV.

This is a service review rather than a product review.
I initially bought the RR6K D-rings, not paying enough attention to size & weight rating. They turned out to be WAY too beefy for my application. After further review I determined that what I needed were the RR2K D-rings.
Cole at etrailer.com was great about helping me get my new D-rings ordered & getting me a UPS label for shipping the wrong ones back, even though this was my mistake & not theirs.
I will definitely do business with etrailer.com again due to Cole's excellent customer service.
By the way, everything showed up when promised & in great condition.

by:

Perfect for what I needed
