Features to know about

Effortless Loading for Heavy E-Bikes: Integrated 36" Aluminum Ramp

Getting 65-lb e-bikes onto a rack doesn’t have to mean lifting and straining. The EasyFold XT comes with a 36" aluminum ramp that slides into grooves on the wheel trays so you can roll bikes on and off with ease. When not needed, the ramp folds up and stores right on the rack. For taller setups, an extra-long 53" ramp (sold separately) creates an even gentler loading angle.

Built to Handle the Weight: 65 lb Capacity Per Bike

This rack is purpose-built for e-bikes and other heavy rides. Each position supports up to 65 lbs and fits tires up to 3.0" wide—or up to 4-11/16" wide with the optional fat bike straps. Molded wheel trays and ratcheting straps keep wheels secure, while padded frame clamps with Road Dampening Technology pads hold the bike steady and cushion against vibration on bumpy roads.

Easy to Live With: Folds, Rolls, and Stores Compact

The EasyFold XT is a full-featured rack that still stores small. It folds in half, stands upright on its built-in wheels, and uses an integrated handle so you can roll it to and from the vehicle instead of carrying it. Folded dimensions are 26-3/4" tall x 10" wide x 31" deep—compact enough to tuck away until the next ride.

Access Without Unloading: Tilts Down with Bikes Loaded

Grabbing gear from the back doesn’t mean removing the bikes. A front lever lets you tilt the entire rack forward, even when loaded, giving clear access to the cargo area. Push it back upright until it clicks, and you’re ready to roll again.

Secure by Design: Locks for Both Bikes and Rack

Built-in One-Key System locks secure each bike to the rack and the rack to the hitch. The locking hand knob tightens the AutoAttach mount while also preventing removal when locked. Large red reflectors on the back boost visibility at night, adding another layer of safety for every trip.

by:

Well built product and works great on my 2014 Kia Soul with a 1-1/4" receiver. We have two Rad Rovers on it and it is stable and smooth and easy to store in a smaller apartment without a garage. It looks nice and is easy to manage. Really like the way the rack goes into the receiver and connects. Very well thought out product and it was worth the wait.

by:

This is as solid and convenient a rack that there is. It takes some learning to get two eBikes properly mounted, but once done it's repeatable. Take photos once you have them satisfactorily mounted. Learning how to store the ramp takes a while as it's not obvious, despite the helpful arrows showing the proper orientation. If it's not in right the tongue doesn't store and the wheels don't come down. Once it's folded up properly it takes up very little space and is easy to move around. The tongue that goes into the towing receiver is excellent and there's no wobble. It's easy to go between the two sizes.

by:

Works great. Comes completely assembled. First day I hauled me two E bikes about 40miles and they never moved. I did have to load my bikes a few different ways till I got to where I was satisfied. I ended up facing them in different directions and had to remove the arms that secure the bikes and place them where I thought they would work best. The carrier sticks out about 34" when on the back and doesn't fold in any closer to your vehicle. When your not hauling your bikes it would be best to remove the carrier. Not able to see the carrier when there are no bikes. It did lean out far enough that I was able to open my tail gate completely. I would have given it a five star but the instructions are terrible. So much for the days where things are actually explained instead of pictures. If your reading this then I would suggest you watch there instruction video on you tube. It helps.

by:

I was a little confused at first of how to install but watching the video helped. I’m loving being able to put my bike on the rack instead of the back of my suv. So easy to attach the ramp and push the bike up. My bike didn’t move at all going down the road. This is my first rack so I was concerned for movement but there was none. Friends have said “you paid too much for that” and I was like “I’m paying for quality and that’s what I got”. Super satisfied customer here

by:

This rack is perfect! eTrailer had it shipped and at my home in almost no time. I drove with it on the car today, and it was solid and secure. It's super easy to get on and off the hitch. I'm 5'1 and I was able to load the bike on with the ramp without a struggle.

Thanks for the thorough video and comparison information. It made this purchase easy.

by:

We have 2 electric bikes, one of which weighs 66 lbs. so I was looking for a rack with ramps. This also has wheels to transport the rack from garage to car without having to carry it.
Let me tell you, the wheels made this rack worth every penny.Lot of racks have ramps, this is the only one I found with wheels and they are a game changer.
Once the wedge is tightened into the hitch there is no play/wobble at all.

The wheels were such a great addition to the design of this rack! Makes it sooo much easier with the heavier bikes. What kind of e-bikes are you using?

by:

The rack is great. Took away one star because I had to remove The safety latch so it would fit into the factory hitch on my 2020 Subaru Outback XT without cutting the bumper fascia. Fits two Magnum Premium folding bikes perfectly. The ramp works well do no heavy lifting. Bikes seem very secure.

by:

After one year we are very happy with this rack. We’ve taken our ebikes on long trips with no problems and felt the bikes were always safe and secure.

We love the rack and have used it to travel thousands of miles with our bikes. The only problem is the ramps. They have always been difficult to lock into place. Now they don’t work at all.

by:

This is, without exception, the BEST bike rack we have ever owned. We have two e-bikes, which bring with them special considerations insofar as racks are concerned: we have to be able to cover them and since e-bikes are heavier, the racks really have to be up to the task. We have purchased other racks, even one recommended by our bike manufacturer, to great disappointment. This Thule rack is simple to mount, extremely stable and easy to cover. We drove 3,240 mile cross-country with two 48-pound bikes on the back of our Jeep and didn't have a single problem. GREAT CHOICE!

by:

Excellent bike carrier that’s easy to use! I added on the longer straps to accommodate the fat tires on our ebikes, but other than that, I was able to unbox the rack and install/use it immediately. These bikes weight 63lbs apiece and this rack handled the weight with little swaying over the course of our 250 mile round trip. It might be a little pricey, but it sure gave me confidence that our bikes were safe and not going to be stolen or become hiway trash during the course of our trip.

by:

I love our new rack! Thule is amazing with their design. I have an ebike and it’s just too heavy for me to lift and place on a rack. Thule has designed a rack with a ramp. I have NO problem rolling my 58 pound bike up the ramp and into the saddles easy to secure the bike and there is no wobble at all when I drive. I’ll be riding A LOT more now that I can transport my bike easily and securely.
BTW, etrailer.com is a great company. Their customer service is amazingly helpful.

by:

Very pleased with this bike rack for my electric bike. I have used it behind my 2012 Ford Explorer and Motor-home. My bike is a fat Tire so I ordered the longer wheel straps and the longer ramp. Straps work excellent. I am 71 and the ramp is two narrow for fat tire bikes and are hard to keep bike on them for loading or unloading. I ended up making my own ramp by using a pet ramp and attaching ends that fit into both ramp slots of the carrier. Now it's a breeze to load and unload the bike without any help from others. This is a great carrier and I would recommend it to anyone with electric bikes

by:

This is the second Thule Bike carrier which I have purchased from etrailer for my e-bike. The previous one was damaged beyond repair on i-95 in Georgia in a stop and go traffic situation when we were rear-ended. Although expensive, this was is the best bike carrier for my e-bike which is too heavy for me to lift up onto a bike rack because it utilizes an integrated ramp. Also, it is rated to carrier more weight than a typical bike rack. I have been very pleased with this product and ease of use for a 125lb woman!

by:

I don't know what I can say good about this Thule EasyFold XT 2 E-Bike Platform Rack that hasn't already been said before.
The designers of this rack knew what they were doing. As the old saying goes, "They Built A Better Mouse Trap"!
It's light weight but sturdy, secure, fender friendly, compact, portable, easy to install, no assembly or tools required and easy to load bikes on .
I was reluctant in purchasing this rack because of the initial cost but after much research I come to the conclusion as with many other purchases, that in most cases you get what you pay for.
I really like the one person ease of loading and solid method of securing the bikes, the built-in 3 security locks using the same key, the fold-up compactness for storage and the ramp to aid in loading our 63 lb. E-bikes.
If your spending $4,000 to 8,000 for E-Bikes don't cut corners. Keep them save and secure going down the road.
I highly recommend this Thule Hitch Bike Rack for E-Bikes.

by:

We purchased the Thule EasyFold XT 2 E-Bike Platform Rack from etrailer.com in May 2019. I received the Rack within a week, and the packaging was excellent. As the video describes, the EasyFold is very compact, relatively light weight, and easy to install & use. Adding two, 60-pound fat tire e-bikes was very straight forward, and we are very impressed with the security features for this rack – both on the bike clamps and the stinger. The near horizontal tilting away from the car is a nice bonus. This rack is well built and easy to handle such large e-bikes, and we highly recommend this product.

by:

Found the bike carrier with ramp to be extremely easy to use, it is light maneuverable & storable. I have a four-wheel-drive full-size Chevy Silverado pick up with a Lance 8.5 over the cab camper. Using a 7 inch hitch extension, I’m able to still enter the camper with the carrier in the down position, as shown in the picture. With the camper on the truck it’s easy to get my Mt. bike And my wife’s E bike on & off the carrier with the ramp. But with the camper off the truck the ramp is almost straight up and down, the truck is not low enough, and the ramp is not long enough. So I have to put a 10” step bench underneath the ramp so that I can get the bikes on and off using the ramp. I also purchased the Swagman RV horizontal 2 bike bag. The problem with the bike bag is that the little hole that slips through the hitch receiver is not big enough to go over the wheels of the carrier. So you must cut a hole big enough (10”x12”) to expose where the ramp is stored and the carrier latch points are exposed, so that the carrier will snap back & lock in the upright position. Then the bag will fit two bikes with this bike carrier.

by:

First the negatives: if you have a aftermarket mid-drive electric beach cruisers to load using the ramp you'll run into a bit of a problem. When loading the first one you'll bottom out mid way up the ramp, meaning the motor hits and you'll need to lift up the back end of the bike to get it up there. Then you'll need to lean the bike toward yourself to get the pedals past the upright black bar that the holders are attached to, this is a bit awkward due to the weight of the bike, the angle and height you are working at. You are probably better off just lifting this style of bike onto the carrier. When loading the second bike you can forget about using the ramp all together due to how narrow the placement is on the carrier between the two bikes. To me this carrier appears to have been designed for lightweight road bikes that have narrow profiles.

One of my cruisers has fat 3.5 inch tires. Before purchasing the carrier I did ask one of the experts on the site if I would be required to purchase the extra long tire straps. He said "NO" and that the carrier could accommodate tires up to 4-11/16, well that question has since been modified to read "YES" you do need to purchase the extra long straps.

Some positives: The ability to roll the carrier to the car is a nice feature. The way it screws to the hitch and it's ability to lock to the hitch is a plus. The bike clamps feel very secure and gives a peace of mind that your bikes are firmly in place and not going anywhere, even when parked thanks to the locking feature of the clamp.

A decent carrier with some flaws.

by:

I purchased the rack and receiver hitch a year ago. Installation of the rack was made simple with the installation video that was specific to my vehicle (2020 Honda Accord). Literally took less than an hour start to finish. Only tool that I needed to buy was a torque wrench, which was about 20 bucks. It did require a very small cut in the plastic bumper that was accomplished easily with a keyhole saw. There was no drilling or other significant issues.

The rack itself is awesome! My wife and I have two Lectric XP3 bikes. They weigh about 65 pounds each with battery. When we travel I revome the batteries to save a bit of weight. I have made two cross country trips (over 6000 miles) with this rack and have never had an issue. Literally every gas stop or hotel stop someone asks me about the rack and bikes. It really is that nice. My wife usually scolds me because we lose a 1/2 hour of travel time each stop to visit with complete strangers:)

The rack is easy to install and remove on the receiver hitch. The lockout feature works great and gives a great deal of peace of mind.

The bikes are easy to load. I don't use it, but there is a ramp that could make loading the bikes easier if a person couldn't lift the bike onto the rack.

There are two arms the lock onto the frame of the bikes similar to the receiver hitch. Once locked down the bikes will not move.

I would recommend ordering the longer ratchet staps if you have fat tires. I think they cost around 20 bucks but the longer straps allow for a little more flexibility in arranging bikes on the rack.

I would strongly recommend this product and this company.

by:

The Thule XT bicycle rack does not take two fat tire e bikes. But is great with 1 fat tire e bike and a normal off road bike. I tow the ebike and mountain bike to Houston at least twice a month and have no worries at all. But it will not tow two ebikes. Could someone recommend one that carries two fat tire ebikes. Specifically Himiway ebikes.

Thank you for your review. The Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes does carry 2 fat tire e-bikes as long as they do not weigh over 65 lbs. a piece. You will need 2 sets of the Fat Bike Straps part # TH985101 to adapt the straps for the width of the fat tires.

by:

We have only used this rack a couple times, but it seems to work very well for our 2 E-bikes. The lock on feature is essentially great. We have been looking for a cover for it to use while it is folded and on the car. Haven’t found one so far.

@Michael You aren't the first person I have heard wishing this rack could be used with a flat towed vehicle. Maybe some day they will test it and update it, so fingers crossed! Did you ever find a cover for it? It's definitely a good idea and I will be contacting Thule to see if they have considered it.

by:

Still unopened. Planning a three-day bike trip next week. Happy it came way ahead of schedule. I've ordered from etrailer a number of time without incident. From the initial order all the way through the process including staff sent emails it was exactly what I wanted and expected! Always a bonus when you can track the package from start to finish.

by:

This is a very solid piece of equipment. It took some time to come up with the perfect configuration for my two electric bikes, but the rack is designed with a lot of flexibility to accommodate so many different positions and I was able to find the one that worked for me. Now that I got it, I took photos and I will be able to mount the bike more and more quickly with practice. It folds down to allow very easy access to my Prius hatchback. I can stand right in front of the open hatch with no problem. I'm thrilled!

by:

The Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 e-bikes is a great product. It is lightweight, easy to use, and a high-quality product I expected from Thule.

by:

As someone with extensive manufacturing experience, I can say this is a sturdy and robust product that will work well for anyone who can follow directions and mount bikes correctly on it.

Having said that, there are a few items people should be aware of that can cause users some issues.

The included “ramp” is not tall enough to work with a standard size pick up’s trailer hitch. I have a dodge ram 1500 series and the rack sits way too high when mounted on the truck hitch for the ramp to even touch the ground.

If you plan on using a standard size pick up or a suburban or Denali type vehicle and are planning on using with heavier bikes or ebikes, buy the longer ramp made by Thule to help with getting your bikes on the rack. It costs about $[XX] and won’t nest inside the rack like the shorter one. But if you have heavier bikes or have issues lifting your bike, it’s a must have. In my opinion, Thule should have designed it with the longer ramp to start with to accommodate standard size trucks and SUV’s but it is what it is.

The mounting struts take a bit of getting used to in order to configure properly to fit your bikes. Make sure you aligned your pedals and frame so that the bike nearest the back of the vehicle doesn’t rub against the frame of the rack before locking the bike into place. Once you find the proper pedal alignment for your particular bike, everything clamps down nicely and is very sturdy.

Overall, aside from the ramp issue adding another $[XX] to the cost of the rack, I’m pleased and it should last for years. The locks are a nice feature as well. Protects your rack and your bikes from theft.

Thank you so much for the thorough and honest review of this rack, Josh! Taking into account the height of your pick up is definitely a nice heads up to have. The ramp being 36 inches long does limit its use a little bit. I hope you are able to get out and use your bikes a lot this spring!

by:

Easiest rack I've owned. Light weight, easy to store, and easy to mount. Big plus is it fits both my 1.25" and 2" hitches. Holds my bikes securely. Will see how it holds up over time, but very happy with the rack so far.

Therefore, it would not be recommended to use the Thule EasyFold XT 2 E-Bike Platform Rack part # TH903202 as it has a 1-1/4" to 2" shank adapter though it would physically fit. It sounds like you have some pretty heavy e-bikes so I recommend either taking a look at the Swagman E-Spec 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack part...

  • Best E-Bike Rack Recommendation to Carry Rad Rover Step Thru Bikes with Fat Tires
The Thule Easy Fold XT E-bike rack part # TH903202 that you referenced is definitely the best e-bike rack around and what I would recommend for your Rad Mini Step Thru bikes. Since they have fatter tires you'd just need the fat bike straps part # TH985101 and you'd be set. You'd need a set of these for each bikes since included straps can fit up to 3 inch wide bike tires. The reason this is considered to be the best e-bike rack is because it has an easy to use frame clamp design that...

  • Yakima OnRamp or Thule EasyFold XT For Fat Tire Electric Bikes
The Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack - 1-1/4" Hitches # Y28DJ or 2" Hitches # Y88DJ does not require added straps for fat tires, as they are able to fit tires up to 5" wide, though the Thule EasyFold XT - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # TH903202 require additional straps for fat tires, and here is what you'd need: - Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # TH903202 - Fat Bike Straps for Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH985101 While both come with an integrated ramp, the EasyFold XT offers a...

  • Bike Rack Similar to Thule Epos that Can Fold Up When Not in Use
Hey Tom, I think you'd really like the Thule EasyFold XT part # TH903202 which is a really nice bike rack that is easy to install, load and unload, and also can fold up really small when not in use like you are wanting. It has a ramp that pulls out that makes loading and unloading bikes super easy as well.

  • Replacement Locking Knob for the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack
Hey, Martin. Thanks for your question. The correct replacement locking knob for your Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 is part # TH79JV. This will thread in properly and give you that secure, anti-rattle clamp. To move your lock core from the old knob to the new one, you will also need the Universal Change Key for Thule Locks # TH42BJ. The lock will need to be in the unlocked position. Once it’s unlocked, you can use the change key to remove the lock core and install it into the new knob. Which...

  • Hitch And Bike Rack For Carrying Two Lectric XP4 Ebikes On A 2016 Chrysler 200
Hi Gregg! We do have a hitch available for your 2016 Chrysler 200 with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11403. As this is a Class 1 hitch, your options for a bike rack will be more limited. The Lectric XP4 bikes being as heavy as they are will limit that even more. With the battery taken out, a Lectric XP4 will weigh 62 pounds and that made one more option available. I will warn you, the two options that will work with a Class 1 hitch and bikes that weight...

  • Does The Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack Need an Adapter To Fit a 2" Receiver?
Yes, the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH903202 will fit in a 2" class III receiver. The rack will come with a removable adapter if you need to use it on a vehicle with a 1-1/4" receiver. This adapter is held in place with 2 screws so you are not trying to align the adapter with any hitch pins. We do have the Extra-Long Loading Ramp # TH933402 that is 17" longer than the included ramp and works best on your taller trucks and SUV's.

  • E-Bike Rack Recommendation for 2024 Subaru Outback
Hey Joan, this is a great question but I have a couple ways we can help. My favorite solution and what I would do if I were you would be to go with a Class I hitch compatible e-bike rack like the Thule Easy Fold XT part # TH903202. This is the simplest solution that also gives you the best e-bike rack around so you can't go wrong and it also fits the hitch you have already so it gets you on the road quickly. Now if you have an e-bike rack already that is designed for a 2 inch hitch you...

  • Why Doesn't Hitch Pin on Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack Lock In Place
The AutoAttach pin on the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH903202 is essentially just a guide for ensuring that the shank of the rack is far enough into the hitch receiver that the rack is secured. Once the AutoAttach system is lined up with the hitch pin hole and it snaps in place then you use the anti-rattle knob to expand the shank to take all of the wobble out of the rack. The anti-rattle knob can then be locked which prevents the bike rack from being removed even if that AutoAttach...

  • Will Thule EasyFold XT Bike Carrier Work With Jeep Wrangler That Has Spare Tire
You can take a quick measurement to see if the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Carrier, part # TH903202 will work on your Wrangler. You will need a tape measure and a straight edge like a yardstick or a dowel. Place the straight edge vertically against the back of the spare tire, letting it extend below the trailer hitch receiver opening. Then measure from the center of the hitch pin to the straight edge. This will give you the distance you need to clear the spare tire. I have attached a link...

  • Best Bike Rack for E-Bikes with Fenders That Doesnt Rub
I have a few different bikes racks for you that will carry e-bikes with fenders. That said, you will need to go with a frame mount style as you can't use a wheel mount bike rack on a bike with fenders. The best option for you will be the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 Electric Bike Rack part # HLY84FR which has an 80 lb per bike weight capacity and soft padded frame hooks so you don't have to worry about rubbing. If either of your bikes has a steep drop tube frame then you will also need...

  • Availability of Bike Rack with Ramp to Carry 75 lb E-Bike
The bike rack with the highest weight capacity that has a ramp that can be utilized is the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 but it can only handle up to 65 lb E-Bikes and I'm not sure if you'd be able to get your bike down that low. We do have the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY74FR which would be able to carry your 75 lb E-Bike but this doesn't have a ramp so you'd have to muscle the bike up to the bike rack. Because of this, the best option for your application is to use a motorcycle...
