NOCO GENPRO10X2 On-Board Marine Battery Charger Diagram

The rugged NOCO Genius GENPRO series on-board smart charger quickly charges and maintains your 12-volt lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries. Multiple battery bank efficiently charges deep cycle and starter batteries up to 230 amp-hours. It's great for boats, trolling motors, generators, and a wide range of electric vehicles and industrial equipment. With a fully submersible design, this smart charger was built to handle harsh marine environments, while keeping your batteries in peak condition.

User-Friendly Interface with LED Indicators

NOCO Genius GENPRO10X2 LED Charging Indicators

This Genius smart charger was designed to provide a simple, user-friendly experience. The mode button allows you to easily cycle through the unit's charge settings. Back-lit LED indicators let you verify that the unit is operating correctly, and they allow it to be easily operated at night. These indicators signal the unit's charge status, selected charging mode, and alert you to potential performance issues or errors.

NOCO Genius GENPRO10X2 Advanced Battery Error Diagnostics

These indicators allow you to quickly identify a problem with the battery or connection. So you don't have to waste time guessing if the battery voltage is too high or too low for your selected mode, or worry about damage from a reversed polarity connection to a battery.

4 Battery Charging Modes for 12V Batteries

NOCO Genius GENPRO10X2 Battery Charger Charging Modes Explained

This Genius smart charger has 4 selectable charging modes that let you quickly switch between charging different lead-acid and lithium-ion battery types. Traditional battery chargers generally only work with a specific battery type, like lithium-ion or AGM batteries, or only in special circumstances like charging in cold environments. This NOCO charger gives you the versatility to tackle different battery types and charging situations in one charger.

The charger works with 12V wet cell, gel cell, enhanced flooded, calcium, maintenance free, AGM, and lithium-ion batteries with battery management systems (BMS). A built-in battery desulfator restores lost capacity to sulfated and old batteries.

Heavy-Duty Eyelet Connectors

Sets of 3/8" eyelets connect the charger to your batteries. Over-molded connection points stand up to heavy usage and keep connections safe from the elements. Built-in 15-amp MINI fuses protect each connection against dangerous overcurrent.

Quickly Charge and Maintain Batteries from 120V to 240V AC Power Source

This Genius charger plugs into an available wall outlet to quickly charge and maintain multiple batteries. High-frequency switch-mode technology converts AC power into safe DC power to fully charge batteries. An onboard microcomputer monitors and controls this charging process to minimize power loss and maximize efficiency. Included hardware lets you mount the unit in an enclosed compartment, garage, or workspace.

NOCO GENPRO On-board Battery Charger Charging Times Diagram

The table above provides a quick reference for how long it will take the unit to charge batteries with various amp-hours.

Rugged Submersible Design

NOCO GENPRO10X2 Waterproof and Ignition Proof Design

This on-board charger was built to handle extreme marine conditions. The unit has an IP68 rating, which means it can handle being fully submerged in water, and it's protected against solid particles like dust or sand. Its ignition protected for safe and worry-free operation around marine engine compartments and fuel tank spaces. Saltwater won't cause issues either. The charger has been thoroughly tested to resist corrosion.

The housing is made from tough Lexan resin that protects the internal electronics against vibration and impacts. The unit can handle being dropped, kicked over, and just about anything else your day brings.

AC Port Plug for Plug-and-Play Charging

NOCO GEN Series GCP AC Port Accessory

Available AC port plugs (sold separately) from NOCO let you easily setup your GENPRO series charger for plug-and-play charging with any extension cord. The plug creates a "pass through" AC charging port on a surface, so you can quickly connect to the charger when it's mounted inside a compartment on a truck, boat, trailer or RV. This allows you to easily access the charger for charging engine block heaters, trolling motors, batteries, and other equipment. A snap-fit cap creates a watertight seal to protect the connection whenever you're done.

Video Transcript for Review of NOCO Battery Charger - 20 amp Submersible Battery Charger - NOC64FR

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this NOCO GENPRO on-board battery charger. This is an AC-to-DC smart charger, that's going to quickly charge a maintain up to two 12 volt batteries. This is completely sealed. And it's got a waterproof design with an IP rating of 68, so it is fully submergeable.

So, it's gonna be great for your marine applications, like your boats, trolling motors, that sort of thing. This is also going to work for a number of other applications. Your electric vehicles, industrial equipment, that sort of thing. Because it is gonna do a really good job of making sure that your 12 volt batteries are charged up. This does have a working voltage of 120 volts.

Alternating current, up to 240 volts of alternating current. This does work for your 12 volt batteries up to 230 amp-hours. This is going to have multiple charge connections, so that you can charge up two batteries at one time. This will work with several different kinds of batteries. It has modes to work with your wet cell, gel cell, advanced flooded, and maintenance-free.

Or a AGM setting, so that you can work with your AGM batteries. And it's also got a mode for your lithium-ion batteries. If you are using a lithium-ion battery, that battery must have a battery management system. But it will work with all those different kinds. It also has a force mode that will help to charge dead batteries, that are below a one volt of electricity.

So, make sure that even if your battery is extremely low, it will help to charge that up. You can see, we do have indicators for each of our batteries. These help to identify problems with your battery or your connections. If the voltage is too high or too low for your selected mode, or if there's a reversed polarity connection, it will identify that for you. So, you can make sure that everything is hooked up properly. This will just plug right in to your AC plug on your wall. This is a six foot cord here, so you should be able to run that out depending on where you're hooking up. One option I would suggest maybe looking into is adding on this extension cord, that can be permanently mounted on the outside. Especially, if you're using a boat or an RV, or something like that. Having that permanent mount there, so you can just easily plug in an extension cord, and everything's gonna power right up. And you don't have to worry about plugging and unplugging. Pulling things out of your compartment. That sort of thing. It'll all just be right there ready to open up that cap and plug it in. But whether you're using that extension or not, this is going to provide a full charge output to your batteries. Even if you're alternating current input is low or varying. So, it's gonna do a good job of making sure that the power going in there is going to be safe for your batteries. It does have a multi-stage charging algorithm. That's gonna charge your battery about two times faster than your traditional chargers without overcharging them. It's gonna analyze the batteries condition to provide a customized charge, so it's not going to overcharge them which can obviously be harmful. But it is gonna charge them nice and fast for you. Does also have a built-in battery desulfator. So, it's going to help restore your lost battery capacity. So, for your older batteries, it's gonna help them. Kind of renew them again. So, really nice option for you there. You can see both of our charging cables are going to have these 3/8 inch islet connectors, that are gonna have a nice contact with your terminals. Each of these cables is six feet long as well. And you can see that they do have the built-in 15-amp mini fuses on each of our connection points. So, that it's gonna help protect against overcurrent while we're charging. As far as our dimensions go, this is approximately eight inches wide. You can see there. Our height, I'm gonna measure with a little extra room to make sure that our cables have some room to bend. So, I'm gonna say it's gonna need about seven inches of height when you're mounting this. And as far as our thickness goes, it's just a little shy of three inches. So, should be pretty easy to get mounted in place. It only weighs about seven pounds, so it's not gonna be a huge strain for you. They do include a couple of these self-tapping one inch screws that you can just slide in to the side there. Get those put in place to hold it up. But it should do a really good job making sure that your batteries are going to be charged. So that if you are taking your boat out for the weekend, something like that, you'll know that you have full battery capacity for both batteries. Now, there are other very, very similar NOCO products that have a three battery capacity, or four battery bank capacity. So depending on your needs, make sure that you're getting the right one. But if you do just have the two batteries, this is gonna be a great option for you. Especially, if you are gonna be using it for your boat, or something like that, because of the submergeability of this. So, that's gonna complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

Ask the Experts about this NOCO Battery Charger

  • Can NOCO GENPRO Battery Charger NOC64FR Be Used To Charge Car Battery?
Yes the NOCO GENPRO On-Board Battery Charger - AC to DC - Waterproof - 2 Bank - 12V - 20 Amp # NOC64FR you were looking at can be used to charge the battery on your 2018 Nissan Armada, and the repair mode will still work as long as the battery is not too far gone. With that said since you are only using it on a single battery, you would be better off with the # 329-GENIUS10 as it still will work with your battery, and has the same repair mode you were wanting, but is more cost effective...

  • Can I Use My Batteries While Charging With The Bright Way Solar Battery Charger?
The Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR has a one way diode to prevent it from draining your battery. The electricity will flow one way and one way only. As far as over charging goes, my co-worker had this charger on his enclosed trailer ALL WINTER LONG to charge his two 6V batteries and it did not overcharge them. I don't see there being any overcharging issues at all. Your batteries will be safe with this charger. I've used the NOCO Genius Smart Battery Charger # 329-GENIUS5...

  • How to Charge Multiple Batteries of Different Voltages
When charging batteries in a multi-battery setup it is better to charge each one individually and disconnected from the ohers. In the case of two 6-volts wired together in series you can keep these connected together and charged as one if they are both the same as far as battery type, amp hour rating, and battery age. Otherwise mismatched batteries will not charge evenly and become out of balance giving you less power out put in use. I would not charge all three batteries together...
