NOCO Genius2x4 Multi-Bank Charger Diagram

The NOCO Genius quickly charges and maintains up to (4) 6V and 12V batteries, using a standard household outlet. 4 Battery banks allow you to charge multiple lead acid and lithium-ion batteries rated up to 40 amp-hours, it's a great charger to have around the garage for motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, personal watercraft, lawn mowers, and other equipment. With 4 selectable battery profiles, multi-stage charging, and advanced safety features, this Genius smart charger makes it easy to keep your batteries in peak condition.

User-Friendly Interface with LED Indicators

NOCO Genius 2X4 LED Charging Indicators

This Genius smart charger was designed to provide a simple, user-friendly experience. The mode buttons allow you to easily cycle through the unit's charge settings on each connection. Back-lit LED indicators let you verify that the unit is operating correctly, and they allow it to be easily operated at night. These indicators signal the unit's charge status, selected charging mode, and alert you to potential performance issues or errors.

NOCO Genius2x4 Advanced Battery Error Diagnostics

These indicators allow you to quickly identify a problem with the battery or connection. So you don't have to waste time guessing if the battery voltage is too high or too low for your selected mode, or worry about damage from a reversed polarity connection to a battery.

CANbus electrical systems found on BMW, Ducati, Triumph and Harley-Davidson motorcycles disable the 12-volt charging port when the ignition is off and won't work with traditional battery chargers. However, CANbus enabled technology allows the battery charger to send a voltage signal that automatically opens, and allows charging directly through the 12-volt accessory port. The charger works with vehicles with start-stop and CANbus systems.

4 Battery Charging Modes

NOCO Genius2X4 Genius Battery Charger Charging Modes Explained

This Genius smart charger has 4 selectable charging modes that let you quickly switch between charging different lead-acid and lithium-ion battery types at different voltages. Traditional battery chargers generally only work with a specific voltage or battery type, like lithium-ion or AGM batteries, or only in special circumstances like charging in cold environments. This NOCO charger gives you the versatility to tackle different battery types and charging situations in one charger.

The charger works with 6V and 12V wet cell, gel cell, enhanced flooded, calcium, maintenance free, AGM, and lithium-ion batteries with battery management systems (BMS). A built-in battery desulfator restores lost capacity to sulfated and old batteries.

Multi-Stage Smart Charging Technology

The NOCO GEN series smart charger uses an 8-stage charging cycle to quickly and efficiently charge your battery. This ensures that the battery safely reaches maximum capacity without being overcharged.

NOCO GEN5X3 Genius Battery Charger Advanced Smart Charging Technology

In the first step of the charging process, the charger will analyze the battery's condition and state of charge. The charger then uses this data to diagnose the battery's health and ensure it can be safely charged. If the battery is deeply discharged or sulfated, the charger will automatically enter the recovery stage to repair the battery by pulsing small amounts of current.

Once the unit has determined that the battery's condition is stable, it will initialize the charging process by providing a constant, gentle charge. The charger gradually increases the charge during the bulk stage and quickly charges the battery to 80-percent capacity.

As the battery nears full charge, the charger enters the absorption stage and delivers small amounts of current to limit battery gassing and safely bring the battery to 90-percent capacity. The charger will then begin optimization of the battery, bringing it to full capacity and optimizing it for increased run time and performance.

The final step of the charging process, maintenance, monitors the battery for drops in power and supplies the correct current to keep it fully charged. If a drop in voltage is detected, the charger will begin the optimization cycle to keep the battery fully charged.

X-Connect Battery Clamps, Eyelets, and Extension Cables

NOCO Genius2X4 X-Connect Battery Clamps, Eyelets, and Extension Cords

The X-Connect battery clamps, eyelets, and extension cords included with the charger are built for rugged versatility around the garage. Unlike typical, plastic battery clamps, the clamps are constructed entirely of metal, ensuring maximum conductivity. The eyelets connect directly to batteries. The lie-flat design ensures maximum contact with terminals. And the (4) 10' extension cables provide extended reach when needed. All of these accessories feature over-molded connection points that stand up to heavy use and keep connections safe from the elements. Built-in 4-amp fuses protect all your connection against dangerous overloads.

Rugged Weatherproof Design

The Genius charger comes with over-molded connection points to protect the unit from dirt, dust, and water. The unit has an IP6X rating, meaning it can withstand splashing water from all directions, and it's completely sealed against solid particles bigger than 1-mm. A durable X-connect plug ensures a weathertight connection when attaching the clamps to the charger.

The housing is made from tough Lexan resin that protects the internal electronics against impacts. The unit can handle being dropped, kicked over, and just about anything else your day brings.

Interchangeable X-Connect Accessories

This Genius smart charger also features unique X-Connect plugs that let you disconnect the battery clamps, or eyelets and attach other X-Connect accessories (all sold separately) for versatile plug-and-play charging solutions. Access your vehicle's battery through charging ports with the OBDII connector, or the 12V male plug. Add a 12V indicator so you can more easily track the progress of the battery as it's charged. With a large variety of available accessories the charger can be outfitted to meet your application's specific charging needs.

Video Transcript for NOCO Genius Multi-Bank Smart Battery Charger Review

What's up everyone, Adam here and welcome to the garage. So, this is the house on the property where we have a lot of fun, we have a lot of toys, but what we're gonna be doing today is taking a look at the NOCO charger. So, a lot of our machines have batteries and as the winter months start to come through and we start to use these a little bit more, those batteries start to kind of fall off. So, we want to maintain them, right So basically, what we got going is the NOCO Genius 2X2. So, basically what that means is we're gonna have two amp hours for two different slots. So, two amp hours going out to our four wheeler and then two amp hours going out to our Jeep.

Two amps are not really something we usually recommend for the bigger stuff, but we're just trying to maintain the vehicles that are here and we don't drive them every single day. So, over a couple of days, it's gonna work out pretty well just to kind of maintain all this. So, all I gotta do is just click it to AGM for our Jeep and it's gonna start charging. And then for our four wheeler, it's just another, just standard 12 volt battery. So we go ahead and turn that on.

So, what I just realized is I don't have the battery connected. So, basically all we got to do is just follow our long leads. We're gonna have a little connection right here which is really cool, so these are gonna just be really nice for adding different accessories, like the extension cable that comes with the kit. So, 10 foot extension right here, going all the way down to our little clamps. So these are gonna go on the terminals of our battery and the battery's on this side actually, and 10 foot actually works out pretty good.

So, with these clamps one, I like the clamps 'cause they're nice and low profile, right. So, with some of these four wheeler batteries are kind of in there and tucked away, so with this, it's really nice for me to kind of get down here and I can kind of slide these clamps in there to get a clean connection. I have a decent spring on them too, so they're not gonna come undone. And, so the top of kind of this usually goes from the top on our positive right there. So now that that's all hooked up, we're ready to rep, there are a couple of different options when it comes to accessories.

There's actually a lot on our website. So basically, what I would like to do with this is there's an extra little piece that we can connect onto here. And it'll just give us some ring terminals, so you can actually just keep it connected to the battery. And then whenever you're ready to charge, grab this side, we're gonna take the little cover off and then plug it on it. So, convenience is definitely the name of the game when it comes to these NOCO Genius chargers, I really like them. So now that's all connected up, and one other thing right here, we do have a fuse, so we don't have to worry about it. Damaging our battery or damaging the charger. So now that's all done, we should be able to charge it up at the wall, now that it's connected, so that's good. A lot of the times, once you set it up and then we connect it up again, it's gonna remember what we've done last. So, we don't really have to set it, but right now, as you can see over there, we don't have it set 'cause we just plugged it in for the first time, so with this one, it's only gonna take one button because the first little option's just gonna be our standard 12 volt. So let's click that and it will start charging. So the good thing about this is it's gonna be a smart charger. It's gonna kind of get an idea of where your battery's at. So, this one it's gonna kind of calculate that. And eventually it's gonna go up to green, which this one did, so it was a good battery. We've been doing a lot of different charges today. So these batteries are pretty charged up. So, if we did have a AGM battery, we just have to click it again. If we had a lithium battery, we'd have to click it again. And then if we hold it down, we could do six volts as well. But this brings me to this little series of led indicators. So that one right there that just went off, we have it hooked up to a 12 volt battery, but we tried to charge it with the six. So that's gonna let you know that there's too much voltage in the battery for the setting, so if that comes up, just make sure you know exactly what battery you're going for. This next one, we really don't like to see this one light up because it just means we have a bad battery. We don't have a recovery mode on this, but some of the larger chargers, like the NOCO Genius 10 has a 12 volt battery recovery. So, if you see that on this, and if you have the other kind, you can actually force charge it to see if we can kind of recover that battery. With the next one, this is gonna just let you know if you are reversing your positive and negative on your battery, but it is smart. It's not going to push that juice through so you don't have to worry about damaging anything, but it will let you know. And this last little indicator is gonna let us know if it's too hot if this is lit up. It's gonna be above 104 degrees Fahrenheit. And if all of them are lit up, that means it's gonna be a little too cold, which is about -4 degrees, That's kind of a lot. This thing is going to be able to take a lot, especially when mother nature gets a little vicious. So, this is gonna be waterproof, it's gonna be dustproof and same with all of our different connections. There are a lot of, and I mean a lot of different accessories. I really love these chargers. They are what we use here 'cause they're very, very smart. They can detect what kind of batteries they are. They can recover some of the batteries if you grab the right kind, but also just with all the different accessories that we can add to it. It kind of just seemed to me like a no brainer. With this charger for each port, which there's two of them. We're gonna have about 2 amps coming out of each of them. So that's not a whole lot for some of your larger rigs. This is our Jeep, it's an old Jeep, it's an old diesel and we don't really drive it a whole lot and it's kind of cold natured. So, this isn't the best for those larger stuff, but we're not really looking for a fast charge, we're looking for a maintainer and this is doing exactly that. We just wanna make sure that the batteries are gonna stay nice and charged up. So, whenever we do want to fire this puppy up, it's gonna have enough juice to kind of get those glow plugs completely heated up. So, this thing will start when you go down to the lake, which is exactly what we want to do. And this charger's just going to maintain our equipment. But if you don't have majority smaller toys like us and you have a bunch of bigger stuff, whether it's just big side-by-sides or just more Jeeps like we have, we do have some GenPro Genius chargers and they are gonna be a little bit beefier for some of the bigger stuff, so, if you have different rigs than what we have here, we have a lot of different options on our website. So just go on there, watch a video and then go ahead and add it onto your wall, just to maintain all your machines. As of right now, we only have two machines in this garage but we can fit more, so as it kind of goes on and we put more stuff in the garage, once we start to finish it, there is a 4 version of this, if you kind of wanna, maybe prepare for the fleet getting bigger, you can go ahead and go with the four and that'll be perfect. This will be great for some of the enclosed trailers that you have, you have a snowmobile trailer, side-by-side trailer, just put that in there, mount it up on the wall, plug her on in. So you can have all four of your machines, all charging, but if you only have two, then you can just go ahead and go with this one. So, sometimes I like to go bigger. I think that's usually better, but with this, it only is gonna pull about 60 Watts. So if you do have some solar setups and maybe you're out riding with some of your friends, the whole squad's out there, you can bring this, bring a solar panel and you can charge your machines just in case something happens. So, sometimes bigger isn't better, but with this, it's perfect for what we're doing. We have a smaller battery that is getting all the juice it needs and we have an old Jeep which I love, that's just getting the maintenance that it deserves. All in all, Genius chargers are the way to go. Trust me, this is what I use day in and day out. And I think you're gonna reap the benefits as well..

The NOCO Genius 10 is a solid, well-built product that is compact and easy to use. We are using it as a battery maintainer/trickle charger via the cigarette lighter adapter. Very pleased with this purchase!

My noco genius charger is working great. I’ve had it a year now and am very happy with its results. I like it’s nice compact size.

by:

I like the small size, and the options of hooking it up with alligator clamps, or hardwired. Easy set up and good display.

From a girl who loves Airstreams and the outdoors …. My husband and I bought it to charge our RV batteries. I hooked it up today it works great! An inexpensive option when only 120v is available.

Excellent selection of products, great prices and fast delivery. Can't beat etrailer website for service.

The Noco G1100 is one of four items I purchased from etrailer to make a portable 12 volt power pack for camping. I wanted to make my own power pack because many available do not have the power I want, have gimmicky features I do not want, and the batteries are not usually user-replaceable. Noco’s X-connect feature made this very easy. I also ordered a HM082BKS box for a U1 type battery, a GC010 12 volt female connector (cigarette lighter type), a GC013 male-to-male coupler, and a GC004 10 foot extension. From elsewhere I purchased a 35 amp/hour U1 battery with screw terminals (Interstate DCM0035) to fit in the box. I unscrewed the battery clamps from the charger output cable which left ring terminals I then attached directly to the battery. Leaving this part attached to the battery, the X-connect feature allows me to: (1) hook up the charger to the battery, or, (2) with the GC013 coupler, attach the female connector for camping. I expect to use this power pack for my CPAP, which can run directly from 12 volts DC (without an inverter), and eventually other items, such as a 12 volt TV. I can also power and charge USB devices with a USB adapter/charger which plugs into the 12 volt female connector. I’ll be testing the setup during an upcoming trip but have no reason to doubt it will work as expected. Of course, you could do the same thing with a bigger battery with the proper charger and battery box. The X-Connect feature is great and I should not have to open the box until I need to replace the battery.

I have attached pictures which show (1) the charger attached to the battery, (2) 12 v female connector connected to the battery with the male coupler, and, (3) the unit ready for travel. The little dust cap from the X-Connect is attached to the battery box strap.

by:

The charger has operated flawlessly for almost a year.

by:

For over a year now this little NOCO charger has kept the starting battery ready to go on our diesel backup generator. Before the NOCO we had to jump start it almost every time.

by:

Contacted etrailer.com about charging K2 Energy Lithium Ion marine batteries. They took the time to contact NOCO Genius chargers to get me the correct answers. NOCO said absolutely that this would be the correct charger for lithium ion marine batteries.

I am now confident that my investment of Lithium batteries will get the correct charge they require. The NOCO genius charger is lighter and smaller than my previous charger allowing more room and less weight in my boat.

by:

Excellent addition to our Scamp trailer stuff. Etrailer advice and service was excellent.

by:

This is my second trickle charger of the same make and model. I like to slow charge various batteries that I use occasionally. ( dump trailer battery , horse trailer brake battery , and a spare starting battery) This charger gets the job done and is a quality product.

by:

Works as advertised. Have used it to restore a 12v lithium 100ah battery which was allowed to go well below the recommended level of discharge. The compact size is also a big plus.

by:

works fine, just wish i understood how it desulfonates better

by:

It has saved us money now that we know you can't let the battery go died. This set up is a life saver at keeping our battery charged

by:

pretty expensive for a trickle charger, BUT it appears to be made from better than average materials, and it is compatible with wet cell, AGM, and even Li-ion. The battery clamps are really nice-looking, quality constructed, top grade material. It appears to me to be a really top shelf, state of the art, highly-optioned, trickle charger. 3yr warranty.
