This Genius smart charger was designed to provide a simple, user-friendly experience. The mode buttons allow you to easily cycle through the unit's charge settings on each connection. Back-lit LED indicators let you verify that the unit is operating correctly, and they allow it to be easily operated at night. These indicators signal the unit's charge status, selected charging mode, and alert you to potential performance issues or errors.
These indicators allow you to quickly identify a problem with the battery or connection. So you don't have to waste time guessing if the battery voltage is too high or too low for your selected mode, or worry about damage from a reversed polarity connection to a battery.
CANbus electrical systems found on BMW, Ducati, Triumph and Harley-Davidson motorcycles disable the 12-volt charging port when the ignition is off and won't work with traditional battery chargers. However, CANbus enabled technology allows the battery charger to send a voltage signal that automatically opens, and allows charging directly through the 12-volt accessory port. The charger works with vehicles with start-stop and CANbus systems.
This Genius smart charger has 4 selectable charging modes that let you quickly switch between charging different lead-acid and lithium-ion battery types at different voltages. Traditional battery chargers generally only work with a specific voltage or battery type, like lithium-ion or AGM batteries, or only in special circumstances like charging in cold environments. This NOCO charger gives you the versatility to tackle different battery types and charging situations in one charger.
The charger works with 6V and 12V wet cell, gel cell, enhanced flooded, calcium, maintenance free, AGM, and lithium-ion batteries with battery management systems (BMS). A built-in battery desulfator restores lost capacity to sulfated and old batteries.
The NOCO GEN series smart charger uses an 8-stage charging cycle to quickly and efficiently charge your battery. This ensures that the battery safely reaches maximum capacity without being overcharged.
In the first step of the charging process, the charger will analyze the battery's condition and state of charge. The charger then uses this data to diagnose the battery's health and ensure it can be safely charged. If the battery is deeply discharged or sulfated, the charger will automatically enter the recovery stage to repair the battery by pulsing small amounts of current.
Once the unit has determined that the battery's condition is stable, it will initialize the charging process by providing a constant, gentle charge. The charger gradually increases the charge during the bulk stage and quickly charges the battery to 80-percent capacity.
As the battery nears full charge, the charger enters the absorption stage and delivers small amounts of current to limit battery gassing and safely bring the battery to 90-percent capacity. The charger will then begin optimization of the battery, bringing it to full capacity and optimizing it for increased run time and performance.
The final step of the charging process, maintenance, monitors the battery for drops in power and supplies the correct current to keep it fully charged. If a drop in voltage is detected, the charger will begin the optimization cycle to keep the battery fully charged.
The X-Connect battery clamps, eyelets, and extension cords included with the charger are built for rugged versatility around the garage. Unlike typical, plastic battery clamps, the clamps are constructed entirely of metal, ensuring maximum conductivity. The eyelets connect directly to batteries. The lie-flat design ensures maximum contact with terminals. And the (4) 10' extension cables provide extended reach when needed. All of these accessories feature over-molded connection points that stand up to heavy use and keep connections safe from the elements. Built-in 4-amp fuses protect all your connection against dangerous overloads.
The Genius charger comes with over-molded connection points to protect the unit from dirt, dust, and water. The unit has an IP6X rating, meaning it can withstand splashing water from all directions, and it's completely sealed against solid particles bigger than 1-mm. A durable X-connect plug ensures a weathertight connection when attaching the clamps to the charger.
The housing is made from tough Lexan resin that protects the internal electronics against impacts. The unit can handle being dropped, kicked over, and just about anything else your day brings.

Jeff Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this NOCO genius 8 AMP, 4-bank, smart 6 Volt and 12 Volt battery charger. Now, this AC to DC smart charger will quickly charge and maintain up to four batteries. So it's perfect for motorcycles, ATVs, personal watercraft, lawnmowers, and other equipment. It is a nice, durable resin housing. It's very rugged, and water resistant, so its perfect for on or off-board applications.
And it is a compact smart charger, which will draw power from an AC wall outlet to charge and maintain up to four batteries at two AMPs each. Now, they do offer four different types of AC cables. This one is the North American version that we just plug in the cord right here, and then plug it into your wall outlet. They also give you a European version, an Australian version, and a UK version AC cable. The cable lengths are about 75 inches, and again you just unplug it here, plug in which cable you need for you application.
Now over here, they offer four battery clamps with the integrated eyelets for a nice spark-proof, and they have reverse polarity protection. The lengths on these are about 21 inches, and if you noticed, they have an inline fuse holder on them. And it protects the wire in each connection against dangerous over current. And again, there's four of those. They also give you four x-connect 10 foot extension cables, which will provide added reach for your connections.

The charger itself, you can see, has four battery banks. It allows multiple 6 Volt and 12 Volt batteries to be charged simultaneously and its a very simple operation, has the mode buttons that control everything, and the LED indicators will light up and tell you the situation that's happening as you turn it on.
It does offer multiple battery profiles to let you charge a variety of battery types at different voltages. The 6 Volt mode, they have a normal charge. 12 Volt mode, they have normal, AGM, and lithium ion. - Now this does use a multi-stage charging algorithm, which will charge two times faster than traditional chargers, without overcharging. Basically what it'll do, is it'll analyze battery condition and provide a customized charge for that battery, and it also offers a built-in battery desulfator to restore lost battery capacity. Now, they do offer x-connect series accessories, which we do sell separately. It'll provide connections for additional applications. Those x-connect accessories are sold separately, and they're listed on this product page as a related product. Few specs on this, the application is for 6 Volt and 12 Volt batteries up to 40 AMP hours. The battery types this supports is a wet cell, GEL cell, AGM, and enhanced flooded, maintenance free, and lithium ion. Now, one note is the lithium ion batteries must have the BMS, which is the battery management system, for it to operate with this charger. Number, again, of battery banks is four. Maximum charging amperage is 8 AMPs, which is 2 AMPs per battery bank. Maximum power consumption is 120 Watts. Last thing I'm gonna do is give you some dimensions on this. The weight of it is about 3, just under 4 pounds, about 3.9 pounds. Overall width from this side to this side, It's gonna be right about 9 and 3/8 inches long. The width on it, now if we include the--where the cables stick out, total width to there is gonna be about 6 and 1/2 inches. Just the box by itself, width is about 5 and 3/4 inches. And then the overall height from the bottom to the very top is right at 2 and 1/4 inches. It does come with a nice owners manual, to describe how the connections are made and how it operates. Couple screws for mounting this, but that should do it for the review on this NOCO genius, 8 AMP, four bank, smart, 6 Volt and 12 Volt battery charger..

Great charger does everything I expected from charging my batteries
The product works as described. The original order was short three battery clamps and after a phone call they made it right. No less than three customer service reps kept me updated with when I should expect the additional items. I could not be more pleased with their service and will definitely use eTrailer again!
Disappointed it doesn’t come with the standard plug assembly like most trickle chargers have. It has its only style which forces one to buy a completely different kind of harness just to make it work with the standard set up. Knowing this now, decision would have been different.

I had a little trouble with the shipping. My package did not show up. I tracked it and it said delayed delivery. I then forgot about it. Then when I needed the product to use, I realized it never showed up. I called Etrailer and spoke with Lauren, she tracked it while I was on the phone. It showed not delivered. Lauren said she would contact the shipping company to ask about it. And if got good answers would reship my product. And said she was sorry for the shippers delay. Well I got the new product the next day. Etrailer really cared and took care of the issue quick. Thank you Lauren! Great customer service!

Both the charger and battery it's attached to are doing GREAT. You can't fail with a NOCO charger. We use them exclusively for our High Value Projects and Systems.
The NOCO Genius Smart Battery Charger keeps my auto batteries fully charged without over charging when the vehicles aren't used often. Also, it keeps my non-used batteries (lawn mower, tractor, quads) fully charged during the winter months.
This is what GM recommended for my 2021 Chevy Colorado and it has worked just great. With the truck sitting sometimes two weeks I would have a problem with battery drain. Since purchasing the Noco Genius Smart Battery Charger from E Trailer, I have not had one issue with a low battery. Great Product! Donn't waste your money buying those cheap chargers.

Keeps the batteries hot
The Noco battery charger has worked very well for storing my motorcycles over the winter. I like the option of keeping 2 batteries charged off one unit. However, motorcycle batteries typically use SAE connectors to the battery harness. The Noco only offers SAE adapters at an additional cost of $26 each. That means I spent 50% more to equip the charger to do the job I needed it to do. SAE adapters should be included as standard with the charger.
I keep it charging a motorcycle all winter without ever unplugging it, seems to keep battery fully charged, works well.

Exactly like the description it is easy to use and I'm happy I bought it. I used it on three marine deep cycle 12-volt batterers to charge them and the maintain them for winter so I can reinstall in RV in the spring.

Excellent trickle charger. Used several times to keep our stored car battery fully charged. We have left it on the charger for 4 months with great results.
