Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the fastway self locking line of adjustable two ball mounts. So, if you're looking for an easy to use, versatile ball mount, our fastway self locking ball mount, is going to be able to adapt to several different trailers, keep everything secure without any extra components, and look good while doing it.If you tow multiple different trailers, chances are they're going to have a different coupler size, or they're going to have a different tongue height. So, we're going to have to switch out our ball mount. That can become a hassle, especially if we tow so many different trailers in any given day.Well, our fastway ball mount's going to take care of that, because we're going to be able to switch our height, because it's going to be adjustable. But it's also going to give us two different ball sizes. Our ball mounts are going to come in a lot of different configurations, we're going to have some that are going to be available for the two inch receiver tube like we have here. But some also available for the two and a half inch receiver tube. And they're going to have varying different drops and rises that way you can pick one that's going to work with all of your trailers. Now, one thing that you're really going to appreciate about this, is that it's going to have self contained locks.
We're going to have this rubber grommet here, that's going to have a plug over our lock cylinder, so it means we can just lift it open. And you'll notice that we're going to have a tubular key, so we're not going to have to worry about it being picked. But if we unlock our ball, we can slide it up or down to get the appropriate riser drop. And then if we remove it, you'll notice that we're going to have another lock core right on the base here. Now, this is going to be used so we can lock our ball mount directly to the receiver tube. And if you watch, you can notice that the pins are going to go in.
So, we're not going to have to worry about losing our lock, because it's going to be self contained inside the ball mount. We can simply just slide our ball mount in place, line up the pin holes, and then rotate our key, until those pins extend out. And you can see that's not going anywhere. So, we'll make sure that pin is in all the way. And slide our ball mount on, then we can rotate the key, until we get it into the slot, and it will lock it in place. Now, our ball mount's not going to go anywhere, and we're not going to have to worry about anybody stealing it from our receiver, or taking the ball platform. And for extra piece of mind, to make sure that you have the ball mount in the correct spot, it isn't just hung up.
The key itself is not going to come out until it's fully in the locked position. So, even if I get it half way and the key is turned, it's still not going to come out, because that pin hasn't fully inserted. But once it does, the key will come out. Each one of these notches in our ball mount here is going to be in one inch increments. So, right now, we have them in rise position. And if we need to go up say two inches, we can just go up two notches, and that will give us a two inch rise.
And the same thing if we we're going down in the drop position. Each one of our ball mounts is going to come with a total of four keys, and both sets of keys are going to work with both the locks. With the locks being right on front of the shank here, and on the side of the ball platform, it's going to make it a lot easier than trying to get underneath the hitch here, messing with the pin and clip, or locking device, and it's one less thing that we have to worry about misplacing. Because our locks are going to be internal, and they're going to be sealed off from any kind of dirt or debris, so we don't have to worry about them getting damaged. Each one of our ball mounts is going to be made out of a solid piece of aircraft grade aluminum, so we're not going to have to worry about any weak points, because there's no welds in them to break. So, they're going to be nice and strong, and durable, but yet lighter weight than steel versions. Our ball mount right now we have in the drop position, but you can flip it over and put it in the rise position. In case you have a trailer that's taller than the other, so we can get a little bit more height, or drop for whatever we need. Now, each one of them's going to have two different balls on it, we're going to have a two inch ball, and a two and five sixteenths inch ball. And switching them's going to be just as easy as adjusting the height, we simply unlock it, flip the ball platform over, to whichever ball we need. And when it comes to the trailer balls themselves, we're going to have two different options. We'll have the version we have here, which is gonna be a steel, chrome plated ball, which is your typical trailer ball. And then we're going to have the stainless steel version. Now, these are going to be made out of a 303 stainless steel, and they're going to be extremely rust and corrosion resistant. It's going to be really good for marine applications, or anywhere that has a lot of moisture, even humidity, so we're not going to have to worry about rust. And that is another big benefit of the aluminum ball mount, it is going to be rust and corrosion resistant, so we know it's going to have this nice, polished mirror finish for a long time. Now, since our ball mounts are going to come in a variety of different configurations, the shank size, and the ball size, is going to make a difference on how much it can handle. So, whenever you're towing, you always want to double check your hitch, as well as the vehicle's owner manual, and go with the lowest rating.Being able to adjust the ball mount up and down, is nice, but if we don't know how much of a drop or rise we need, it doesn't do us much good. So, we'll show you how to measure for the appropriate riser drop for your trailer. You're going to want to measure from the ground to the inside top edge of the receiver tube opening, you're gonna make sure that your tow vehicle is nice and flat and on level ground whenever you make your measurement. So, right here, we're getting right about 17 inches. Now, we can come to our trailer and again, you want to make sure that your trailer is nice and level. So, we have our trailer chalked. And we'll come up to the coupler, and we'll measure from the ground to the bottom edge of the coupler here. Which I'm getting right about 21 inches. So, there is about a four inch difference. But since my trailer is higher, I'm going to want a four inch rise. So, we'll take our ball mount, we'll make sure that the pins are all the way in, and since I need a rise, I'll put it in the rise position. Slide it in the receiver tube, line up the holes and turn the key and lock it in place. And we can grab our ball platform, and again, open up the plug, take our key, make sure that pin goes all the way in. Pick the appropriate ball for your trailer, we'll slide it down close to where we need it. And once we have it lined up, we can turn the key and replace the plug. So, now we can go and double check our measurements, make sure we're pretty close to that 21 inches, and we are. Now, all we have left to do, is back up and hook up to our trailer. That'll finish up your look at the fastway self locking line of adjustable two ball mounts.

Too early to give complete review but on inspection product looks Five Star! 599239
Freekin awesome hitch! Love all the locking features. No pic. Don't want peeps to see my plates. Highly recommend. Only hitch I will ever buy again! John T. 566044
Extremely well made, heavier than I expected. Love the key locks instead of pins. 522968
Love it! Very easy to adjust .
Perfect fit. Keys operate easily. It rattles a bit, but no more than my former hitch. 342219
If you are looking for a solid trailer hitch I would spend the extra money and get one of these solid hitches. I carry a lot of weight behind my Tahoe and my Dually and have one of these hitches on each. I suggest not trying to save a $100 and get a less expensive one as they are not as strong, its not worth losing a load on the highway. Remember you always get what you pay for... this hitch is awesome. 333436
Excellent hitch 333189
VERY nice product. Costly, but price reflected in quality. A great solution to carrying separate hitches with different ball sizes as I've been doing. 240803
Great hitch Quick shipment I thought it had an anti-rattle but I was wrong. Easy to use and perfect for my use. 210427
Quick delivery, great hitch, looks and performs beautiful. Can't beat etrailer. I could of gotten away with a 6 inch drop but I bought the 8. No problem with ground clearence on my 2013 F 350. 207682
Excellent design and materials. Would recommend to others. 182919
My wife ordered the hitch for me. I own a mowing business and hook trailers a lot. This hitch is remarkable. It adjusts so quickly and seems to be well constructed. A great product. 167644
Hitch works perfectly. It gets so many looks of envy when its noticed. Its great. I dont think I would own any other adjustable ball hitch.
Very impressive so far. Got here in 3 days in the middle of Christmas shipping. Very purdy. Fits well and locks nicely. So far so good. 166756
Delivered fast, exactly as advertised. 151647
I needed two different trailer balls. This hitch eliminated the need to carry the other one in the vehicle. It is a nice neat setup for the tow. There is some slop between my receiver and the hitch; but other than that it works great. 138256
The quality of the hitch is excellent, plus it looks great on the Suburban. This product was exactly what I was looking for. I have three trailers that I keep in several locations. Now I never have to concern myself with having the wrong hitch on the tow vehicle. 131580
This hitch is like a piece of jewelry in it design and execution 130217
Awesome ball mount for a reasonable pri ce. 127144
Both the product and etrailer have exceeded my expectations. I'm in a retail business and wish my entire staff was this efficient. This product may be expensive in some peoples eyes, but the quality and construction is second to none and I'm sure it is considerably less money than what they are going to hook to it. Thanks again. It has worked well, no issues at all. I have not tried to reverse the ball or remove it from the receiver.
Arrived promptly as presented. Product looks nice and appears substantial. 106641

Appearance of this is very good however i am very disappointed in the amount of loose play the unit has. 71118
AMAZED at how fast it was shipped and delivered. GREAT product and company to deal with!!! Thank you. 70317
This unit is the trick to safe towing of trailers up to 10K. A level tow load is the safest tow load. This Ball Mount speaks safety and much more. It's fit and finish are second to none. With the keyed lock system it it easy on and off and easy elevation adjustments. I have towed many trailers and this hitch is number one. Best in class. 68562
Service was excellent and delivery was fast and on time as stated. The products fit and finish is also excellent. I just recieved this product and haven't had the chance to pull with it yet,but you will not find a better looking or working tool period.the keys fit well and the locks/pins move freely the way they should. I would buy this product again and from etrailer.com every time. Great job 48293

I was very confused in trying to determine the type of hitch to use for my just purchased 2019 Ford Superduty truck. The good folks at E-trailer worked with me and I selected a hitch with just the right drop. Years ago I purchased several tires from these folks and they are wonderful to work with. Very professional and (most important) PATIENT!! 706320

After about 7 months, the lock that locks and releases the pin to the receiver was completely frozen stuck, and the key to the lock twisted off (pretty flimsy). After re-lubing the pin and lock again, twisted the other key off. i had to mangle the lock to get it off of my truck, and unit is now completely worthless... 404043

I use this everyday, and I love it. It still looks like new, the key locks and slides still work like they did when they were new. I would 100% buy another one. 282504

Perfect for the Subaru Crosstrek. You do not have to crawl under the vehicle to put the safety pin in place. This ball mount is also very light weight and does not rust. 409316
Review from a similar Fastway Self-Locking in Ball Mounts
I previously purchased this product for a 2" receiver and was very pleased with it as I formerly kept five hitches in my truck for five trailers - each was a different height and one was a 2 5/16 ball with the others being 2". Consequently, I went from hauling around about 75 pounds of hitches to one at about 15 pounds - plus, being aluminum, it had greater load capacity and looked a lot nicer than the steel hitches. My new truck has a 2 1/2" (class V) receiver and the former hitch cam operated lock pins did not come out far enough to engage the receiver when an adapter was used; hence, the need to buy another one rated for 2 1/2" receivers. The new one arrived and it was a 2" hitch with extended pin lengths and an adapter to make it fit a 2 1/2" receiver. Unfortunately, the adapter was off center and I was unable to insert the unit into the receiver on the truck. There are two screws that affix the adapter to the hitch insert and after about an hour I was able to get the new hitch/adapter to fit my receiver using one of the two screws to get the sleeve and hitch lined up properly and discarding the second screw which would have caused further misalignment. While not very happy about the latter, I am pleased with the result. I would strongly suggest that the manufacturer have some type of quality control as it was very apparent to the naked eye that the sleeve and hitch were not properly aligned. As far as Etrailer, they have always been great to deal with and offer all kinds of support. I have been purchasing equipment from them for many years. 340339
After a year the hitch has worked well. Recently I was in VA with freeing rain then below freezing temperatures. I had to reverse the balls due to what I had to tow. To my surprise the locks had not frozen and worked as designed. Regarding salt exposure, I reside in Florida and after my trip to VA my vehicle was covered with salt. I used Salt Away for boats coupled with a nozzle. The unit is similar to a hose mounted liquid fertilizer applicator and allowed me to thoroughly clean the nooks and crannies including the hitch. It will not damage paint and is supposedly environmentally friendly.

Exceeded my every expectation. 77390
The product worked exceeding well pulling a 30 Grady White Marlin. However, I no longer own the boat or vehicle.

Great solid hitch but the lock is poor quality. I left it on the truck for several months (with lock protection cap on) and one day I went to remove. Found lock tumbler had shifted and was unable to insert key to remove. Had to drill out lock to get ball mount off the truck. I know have a $80 aluminum paper weight. 591181

The key driven locks look questionable at first, but they hold just as solid as the pins. I don't think I have pressed it's limits with my power dump trailer, but it definitely meets my needs. I generally hook it up to the top 2" receiver on my torklift 20k receiver. Works great. Feels substantial! 550239

First of all I received my order lickity split. Thank You! When I opened the Ball Mount, I used the key and turned it to see the pins slide in. One side slightly moved. The key turned but no response. After working it for what seemed a long time, and pushing with my thumb it now works. But I am still a little skeptical of it. Hard to imagine that little amount of pin on both sides will hold 10,000 lbs. Otherwise, it looks really nice and I just used it to tow a single Seadoo and trailer and it held. The true test will be the big trailer. Sherry:) 63724
Well, I still love the Ball Mount, even thou the first time I took it off the little barrings with the springs, which I believe is the rattle control fell out. Did nt bother to stick them back in since it would happen again. I chased them down the driveway. I have a bolt on the underside of my receiver that I tighten which keeps any rattle happening. I had that installed. It pulls the trailer with no problem. Thanks, Sherry:
Thanks for the follow up Sherry. I am happy to hear that you do have an anti-rattle device that is working well for you. I also wanted to let you know that Diversi-Tech has redesigned this adjustable ball mount. The new design no longer includes the anti-rattle balls that you chased down the driveway.

I ordered this because even though mine wasn't broken I wanted a bullet aluminum one. No welds. Good looking, solid, and weighs a lot less than my last one (which is steel). I will begin to put it through the rigors of my towing starting tomorrow. Glad I found this product. 304769

High quality hitch. Very easy to use. I really like that it is one key for the lock and the adjustment. Really good looking hitch. Price is really good when you price out lock/ball/receiver and this one is adjustable with one key for all. This is our second one purchased after we tried the first one out. 208590
We have two of these for our fleet of tow vehicles with 80k miles of towing with all working great.

WOW WHAT A CHUNK OF METAL. MAKES ME WONDER, HOW YOU GET EVERYTHING INTO THOSE 2 PEICES OF SOLID METAL. HAVING LOCKS BUILT IN WILL SAVE ME ALOT. AS I HAD 2 KEYED LOCKS BEFORE, BUT WHEN YOU LOAN OUT TO FAMILY THEY DONT SOMETIMES GET PUT BACK ON AND GET STOLEN. YEA THANK'S 128128
A GREAT HITCH. NO ONE IS STEALING THIS ONE. YOU HAVE A GREAT PRODUCT. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. IT LOOK GREAT TOO.

This is solid. But also surprisingly light. Installed easily and locking mechanism is very smooth. Wish it came in anodized black: my only complaint. Feels like a value at the etrailer price. I am using on an Audi Q7 so have it flipped over so as to get a 1" rise. 450854

This is everything I had hoped it would be, and more. Excellent design, quality, and appearance. Locking mechanism works great, and ball mount doesn't rattle. This is a great addition to my new Yukon Denali Hybrid! 90546

I have not had a chance to use the ball mount yet but it is easy to use and fits receiver with no issues. I recently purchased a Curt class V receiver that is installed below my OEM receiver. With the drop installed in the Curt receiver in the upright position, the back of the ball mount comes very close to the bumper on my 2011 Ram 2500 crew cab. I will see if there are any contact issues when actually towing and revise my review, if necessary. 114259
After using the hitch for six months, with the Curt receiver, I found it does contact my bumper when positioned at that height, causing scrathes. I also find that I can not unlock the receiver pins without having to tap pretty hard on the pin ends.
-- comment by: Kevin M - 07/17/2014Both products are working well. I initially had a problem with the ball mount, which you promptly followed up on, giving me the Diversi-Tech support number. After talking to the rep and following a couple of his suggestions, the mount is now working well.

This is my third DT (FLASH) Draw Bar. All three are in service. They are light weight but have higher GTW capacities then heavier draw bars. The four star rating is due to a couple things: 1) the shank on this Lastest purchase (from Flash) is not completely polished when set in the rise orientation. I used SemiChrome and a buffing when to finish the job. All draw bars fit a little loose in the receiver, especially the DT8200 model causing some rattling and clunking when pulling an unloaded trailer. I resolved this issue by drilling n taping the second hole that was in the receiver side ahead of the lock pin hole and wrenching the draw bar down n to the side. Rock solid now and no more clunking. It's a quite set up. The secure lock is easy to use and is theft proof. 525112
Still loving the set up. Still looks like new. Make sure you weld a 1/4 plate or nut to the outside of the receiver if you plan to tap and wrench a bolt into the side of the receiver like I described in my previous review. It eliminates the slop but the treads will strip out over time if you dont provide for more bolt threads to be captured when wrenching down the bolt to remove the play in the draw bar. Be aware that the steel bolt WILL wear a spot on the draw bar over time. I stopped using the bolt and purchased a U-bolt and plat to clamp the outside of the draw bar to the receiver to eliminate up/down play. This set up is better because it doesnt damage the side of the draw bar but provides a secure noise-free towing experience. Some guys may not be bothered by the clunking noise when stopping and starting but it drives me nuts. Thumbs up if it doesnt bother you :-
We do have the u-bolt anti-rattle devices that you mentioned available as the Quiet Hitch from Roadmaster as part # RM-061
