Video Transcript for Draw-Tite Ball Mounts - Fixed Ball Mount - 3593 Review

Today we're going to look at the Draw-Tite Sportframe Drawbar, number 3593. This drawbar fits a 1 1/4 inch Class 1 sports frame receiver style trailer hitch. It uses a ball with a 3/4 inch shank diameter. From the center of the pin hole here to the center of the ball hole right here, it measures 6 5/8ths of an inch. It provides a 2 1/8 of an inch rise from here to the top of the ball platform, and a 2 3/4 inch drop from here to here. It is rated for up to 2,000 pounds of gross trailer weight and up to 200 pounds of ton weight and it includes the pin and clip, which is also available here at etrailer.com separately, part number PC2.

You would just put this in your 1 1/4 inch trailer hitch receiver, put the pin through there, and then just clip that off and you would be good to go. That should about do it for our Draw-Tite Sportframe Drawbar, part number 3593.

This part came with the trailer hitch I purchased. It was very easy to transfer the ball from my 2" hitch and voila I am now ready to haul my trailer. 138664

am extremely satisfied with the products I purchased. I use theTow Hitch almost daily for my bicycle rack and a trailer I have to tow. The installation was a quick and easy. I have recommended your website to about 20-25 people over the past year. Hopefully you received some business from my recommendations. Thanks for following up. Not all companies take the time.

I may be ordering a hitch for a 2014 Chevy Cruze RS. The lower part of the bumper has a different shape than a 2013 Cruze. Wondering if I need to order a 3593 or a 3594 because of the difference in shape at the lower portion. In advance, thanks for the help!

Since the hitches that are confirmed to fit your 2014 Cruze are Class I trailer the manufacturer-recommended drawbar or ball mount should be used for each specific hitch. The hitch manufacturers test the two together. So which ever drawbar is recommended according to the fit guide page, that is the one you should be using. I have included a link to those for your reference below.

Not very happy with getting a used or returned ball mount from etrailer.com, should not have any rust or dents when I buy a new one. Sending a mail to customer service for a RA#, hopefully they will correct this problem. The wiring harness I order was the other item I ordered and it was in good shape. My experience with them has been up to this point excellent. 432664

Good Product. I am a guy that likes a challenge although this wasen't much of one.. easy instructions, straight forward application and tools this was a fun project. my best advice would be if you're putting together a project of sorts make sure you speak to a rep before you order, that way all the parts you order work well together.. 657130

I was completely satisfied and very impressed thoughout my first experience with etrailer.com. The website provided exactly the educational material I need to correctly order the products. My order was unexpectedly upgraded for faster shipment, at no cost. The only glitch was the pin and clip were missing. After calling customer service they gave me several options. I bought the pin locally and etrailer.com promptly credit my account for my cost. I'm glad I found etrailer.com and heartily recommend them! 98797

Ask the Experts about this Draw-Tite Ball Mounts

  • Hitch Ball Options Compatible with the Draw-Tite Drawbar # 3593
We do have hitch balls that are compatible with the Draw-Tite Drawbar # 3593 that you are looking at. The 3/4" ball hole diameter on the drawbar needs to match the shank diameter of the hitch ball that you choose. The 2-5/16" Curt Hitch Ball # A-6 that you referenced is for heavier towing applications and has a shank diameter of 1-1/4" so the shank is too large for the Draw-Tite drawbar. We recommend going with the 1-7/8" Hitch Ball # 19256 or with the part # 19258 which is a 2"...

That depends on which model of Ford Fiesta you have. If you have a sedan you would want the part # 24856 and if you have a hatchback you would want the part # 24961. For trailer wiring you would want part # 118471 for if you have a hatchback and part # 118422 for if you have a sedan. For a ball mount you would want the part # 3593 that you referenced. For a 2 inch ball you would want part # 19258 or # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball.

  • Why Can't Class II Accessories Be Used with Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver
Both Class I and Class II trailer hitches have the same 1-1/4 inch receiever opening, however a Class II hitch will have higher towing and tongue weight capacities. The primary issue with using a Class II accessory in a Class I hitch is that many Class I hitch receivers actually have a built-in tab/stopper inside the receiver that physically prevent a Class II accessory from fitting. Trailer hitch manufacturers do this in order to keep a Class I hitch from being overloaded, since a Class...

Unfortunately, we do not have any hitch expanders from a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver to a 2 inch receiver that are able to be used for towing. Although, I'm a little confused. Your ATV has a 1-1/4 inch receiver and the trailer fits a 2 inch hitch ball. • Is There a Standard Required Clearance for Ball Mount to Vehicle Bumper
There really isn't a specific range for what you are asking about. You basically want the trailer to be able to move as you turn without interfering with the vehicle bumper. Normally that's not an issue and what people end up more concerned with is the correct rise drop. Having the hitch opening recessed 3 inches is pretty standard for towing applications. Ball mounts typically stick out around 9 inches or so which gives the trailer plenty of clearance to pivot around.
