This 2-camera system is perfect for a variety of trailering applications in which 2 unique viewing angles are desired. For example, you could keep an eye on the horses inside your trailer. Or you could use the system to monitor your rig when towing a boat behind your fifth-wheel camper. The system is also ideal for agricultural jobs such as monitoring 2 filling silos. Each camera wirelessly transmits video to the hand-held monitor, and the entire system is battery powered - which means no complicated wiring is needed for installation. And, the cameras' place-and-point design lets you reposition them for each job.
The 2-camera Swift Hitch aligner doubles your view so you can quickly align your vehicle's hitch ball with your trailer's coupler. It eliminates trailer hookup headaches like getting in and out of your vehicle, relying on a spotter, and accidental collision.
Using the system is easy. Attach one of the cameras to your tailgate or trailer - the magnetic base makes it simple to place the camera wherever you need it - and point it at your hitch ball. Hop in the driver's seat, and use the monitor to watch your progress as you back up your vehicle. No getting out of the truck to check, no deciphering the hand signals of your significant other, and no running out of patience. Once the hitch ball and coupler are aligned, all that's left to do is hookup and hit the road.
For gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailers, attach the camera to the back of your cab for a helpful look into the bed of your truck as you back up to the trailer.
This system uses digital technology to transmit images from the camera to the monitor. Unlike wireless devices that use analog technology, this camera system does not pick up interference from other devices that use Bluetooth or WiFi. This means that you'll have a crisp, clear image of your hitch every time.
Each of the cameras has a 10-hour battery life, making them perfect for folks who tow frequently or for those who need to monitor a job for a long period of time and don't want to spend a lot of time recharging the batteries.
Seven infrared lights surround each camera's lens to provide up to 15' of night vision so you can get the job done in the dark. Night vision automatically activates in dim or dark conditions and turns off when lighting improves. When the cameras are using night vision, images are displayed in black and white on the monitor.
Each camera is labeled with a number because they operate on two different channels. Camera 1 operates on channel 1, and camera 3 operates on channel 3. Camera 1 sends images to the monitor from up to 200', away and camera 3 transmits from up to 300' away. Each camera gives you a targeted, 55-degree viewing angle (horizontal and vertical).
Camera 1 comes with two antennas so that you can get optimal reception. The 2-5/8" antenna should be used on camera 1 for most applications where there is little to no obstruction blocking transmission. When camera 1 is obstructed, such as when inside an enclosed trailer, use the included 7-1/2" long extension antenna. You can route the extension antenna from the camera to an unobstructed area using the included 9' cable. The extension antenna has a magnetic base for easy set-up.
The back of each camera has an on/off button, an LED light, and a jack for the charging cable. The LED light changes color to signal when the camera is on (green), when it's charging while the power is on (yellow), and when it's charging while the power is off (red).
Place-and-Point Design
Setting up each camera is as fast as place and point. First, place the camera's strong magnetic base on a metal surface. The magnetic base lets you easily remove and reposition the camera depending on the job - unlike a backup camera that's permanently mounted at the rear of your vehicle. Plus, the base has a smooth, non-scratch nylon backing.
Next, point the camera at your hitch ball or target. A stem with a rotating ball joint sits between the camera and the magnetic base. The stem smoothly rotates 360 degrees, allowing the camera to be pointed in any direction and hold its position.
One suction cup mount is also included (additional mount PM01 - sold separately). This triangular metal plate with 3 suction cups lets you mount the camera to a non-magnetic surface. Simply stick the suction cup mount onto the mounting surface and then place the camera's magnetic base on the plate.
If your application requires you to use the cameras while traveling, such as monitoring horses inside an enclosed trailer, the camera and extension antenna stand should be securely mounted. Pre-drilled holes let you mount the cameras and antenna stand using 1/8" screws or bolts with wing nuts (not included).
Water-Resistant Construction
The Swift Hitch cameras were constructed with water resistance in mind so that you can hitch up in any weather. A sealed plastic barrier on the front of each camera covers the infrared lights to shield them from water, and an attached cap back covers the charging port. The housing hangs over the lens like an awning to protect it from the rain. Plus, the body, stem, and base of each camera are made of durable, rustproof aluminum, and the exterior has a UV-resistant coat of bright yellow paint.
One clear plastic cap is included (additional cap PB04 - sold separately) to protect one camera's rear end from rain or other inclement weather, particularly when the lens is pointed at your hitch ball. The cap fits snugly onto the back of the camera. The on/off button can be pressed while the cap is on, but the cap will have to be removed when you want to plug in the charging cable.
The hand-held monitor features a 2-1/2", high-resolution LCD screen that displays crisp, clear full-color pictures (images appear in black and white while camera is operating in night vision). Video is displayed in mirror image by default to give you the same viewpoint as your rearview mirror, but this setting can be switched to non-mirror image if you prefer. The monitor has a battery life of up to 4 hours when fully charged. It is recommended that the monitor battery be fully charged before first use.
To turn the monitor on or off, hold down the button on the front for 3 - 5 seconds. To switch the display from mirror-image view to non-mirror-image view, press the button quickly. An LED indicator light changes color to signal when the monitor is on (green), when it's charging while the power is on (yellow), and when it's charging while the power is off (red). The light flashes when the unit is in the non-mirror-image setting so you know what perspective you've got on the display.
A toggle button located on the side of the monitor lets you quickly change the channel between the 2 cameras. The included video-out cable plugs into the side of the monitor so that you can transfer images to a larger screen or a recording device.
The lightweight, durable plastic unit has a contoured shape so that it is easy to hold in one hand. For dash mounting, two 7/8" hook-and-loop strips (similar to Velcro) with adhesive backing are included. Or you can use the Swift Hitch windshield mount kit (sold separately) to keep the monitor easily within view.
This portable, completely wireless system is simple to set up and convenient to use. It does not need to be hardwired to your vehicle, nor does it rely on your vehicle's battery to work. Instead, it uses radio frequency to transmit video from the cameras to the monitor and it is powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. There's no permanent installation or drilling required, so the system can go anywhere you go - from the jobsite to the campsite, from your work truck to your SUV.
The included 12-volt DC cable lets you charge the monitor and one of the cameras or both cameras simultaneously. An AC-to-DC adapter (sold separately) can be used to charge the system from a 110-volt AC wall outlet.

works great!
Broken receiver
This camera has a good picture and very easy to use and very easy to set up if the surface is metal. .
2007 Dodge 2500 with camper shell. Read reviews. It is a great camera to help you back up and hook up trailer. NOT for rear view camera on road trip. If it is a bright day, you have to hold monitor in the shade of cab to actually see. Set camera, back up, connect trailer, remove camera and return to box till next time. Simple.
Works Great in Bright Light, not so in shade or cloudy day.
Works great. Just what I needed after neck surgery to help line up my fifth wheel.
Had to return. Had high hopes, but the picture on the tiny handheld monitor was just too small.
Worked well right out of the box. Picture quality was very good in the day light have not had the opportunity to try it in limited light situations. Looking forward to hooking my first trailer.
Great camera but it would be helpful there was a way to mount it while in use on the dashboard so I don’t have to keep looking down to check the monitor.
I like it a lot, has saved the back of my truck from more damage. Sometimes hard to see if the sun is at the wrong angle, casting shadows on the ground (can't tell which is the shadow or the tongue of the trailer).
The Swift hitch works great makes hitching my trailer alot faster and safer.
Back up camera works great. My husband loves it.
I just used this camera for the first time. It was wonderful. I backed up right under the hitch. So much better than jumping in and out of the vehicle like I used to do. I would highly recommend this camera.
Actually used product this morning, attached camera to gooseneck hitch tube pointed to truck bed, backed right under first try. Sure beats climbing in and out of truck 2-3 times to look. Great product works very well.
I bought this unit to be able to see my boat that’s towed behind my camper going highway speeds. The service and speed of the folks at ETrailer is 2nd to none ! The unit works great and everything is just as was shown. I have not used it behind the camper yet but did hook it to my tailgate and the video worked traveling 62 MPH crystal clear .
Will send pics when all is hooked up.
Thanks ETrailer
Use the product all the time works great for gooseneck trailers and 5th wheels. Highly recommend this product.
The SH02Digital backup camera was exactly as advertised by etrailer.com. It was even more than expected. I set up the camera on my vehicle after charging the monitor and camera as instructed in the manual and walked down my street with the monitor to see how far it would transmit a clear image. Wow! I'm sure I was about 300 feet plus away from the camera. I then walked around my house until the image stopped. It was amazing the image transmitted through my house which is about forty feet. The delivery only took a few days and the packaging was excellent. I would highly recommend this backup camera to my friends.
Sits right on top of my in-bed aux fuel tank, and Works great to help me hook up my 5th wheel with a Reese Goose Box hitch. I can easily see the hitch approach my goose ball and helps me keep from inadvertently impacting my in-bed fuel tank.
I tried the switch hitch camera and it performed great. I used it to hook up the hitch and then used it to back my 30’ travel trailer in my site. After a couple of comparison checks to make sure I was judging the distance correctly, I could see easily to back under the hitch with no problems. I also used the camera to back into my camp site and it worked good. It is a good investment for safety and time saver.
Easy to set up and use. Image quality is excellent. I mounted it on the back window of my F150 to see the gooseneck hitch. Once you get close to the hitch the view is excellent, but the field of view is inadequate for rear window mounting for a short bed with gooseneck hitch. The problem is you cannot see the gooseneck until it is too close to the hitch to do much correction. The F150 has aluminum bed, so magnet does not work. I will have to make a camera mount that I can place low in the back of the bed to solve the field of view problem. A local accessory dealer has put these on boat trailers for years, and reports that they hold up very well. Product is exactly as advertised and quality seems excellent.
I replaced the original brake controller in my 2001 F-350 that I pull a 25’ gooseneck equipment trailer with! This was super easy to install and setup!! The braking is so amazing, I wished I replaced my old controller years ago!
