This 2" round LED light puts out a bright, even red glow using 7 diodes that draw only 0.063 amps at 12.8 volts. It’s an efficient upgrade over old incandescent bulbs that run hotter and burn out faster. With LEDs that last up to 50 times longer, you get clear visibility with less power draw and no bulbs to replace. That means more time towing and less time messing with repairs.
Moisture and corrosion are common trailer light killers, but this one is built to handle it. The polycarbonate housing and red lens are sonically sealed into one waterproof unit, making it fully submersible. Even if your trailer gets dunked at the ramp or splashed on the road, water won’t seep in and ruin the diodes or circuit board. It’s tough, reliable, and ready for wet conditions.
Mounting is easy thanks to the built-in flange design. The recessed style gives a clean look and helps protect the light from bumps or snags. A simple 2-wire pigtail handles power and ground—no complicated wiring diagrams or extra adapters needed. Just connect and go.
With a P2 rating, this light produces a focused beam visible straight on for up to a 90-degree total spread—perfect for use as a clearance or side marker light. The red lens also includes an integrated reflex reflector for extra visibility even when the light is off. DOT compliance ensures it meets safety requirements wherever you travel.

Today, we're going to be taking a look at part number MCL52RHXB, this is the optronics LED clearance or side marker light. It's going to have a built-in reflex reflector, here on the mounting flange and over the main portion where the lights are. The round trailer light is going to serve as either a side marker light or clearance light. It is sonically sealed, so it's going to feature a water-proof housing and lens unit that's submersible. The LED's are going to make great replacements for incandescent lights. They're going to last a lot longer; they're going to be much more efficient, and you don't have to worry about replacing the bulbs and you don't have to worry about inaudible 00:00:38. We're going to have the red lens, again it's going to have that reflex reflector.
The lens and the housing is going to made from a poly carbonate material, it's very strong and very durable. This is a recess mount installation, it's got a built-in mounting flange, right here. And then this portion is going to be the recess portion. Can we take a measurement of that recess area real quick And that's going to give us a measurement of about two inches. Also, here at the back you're going to notice that it has a two wire design. White wire is going to be for ground, black wire is going to be for power.This is Department of Transportation compliant, and it is P-2 rated.
And it's going to come with the foam mounting gasket, it goes back there, just adds a little bit of cushion when you're ready to install it. You're mounting hardware is not included. We're going to take a few measurements real quick, starting with the diameter of just the light. That's going to measure about two inches. Overall diameter from outer edge to outer edge is going to be about three and one sixteenth of an inch. We measure the entire depth from the very back to the very front, we're look at about three quarters of an inch.
The mounting holes on the unit are going to be separated on center by two and one quarter of an inch, and that's going to be the same distance between each mounting hole. And then the diameter of the mounting hole is going to be about three sixteenths of an inch. This light's going to contain seven diodes or seven LED's. The power drawl at twelve inaudible 00:02:12 volts is 0.063 amps and optronics is going to put a life-time warranty on the LED's. We're going to go and hook it up to our extra power source, that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. So, take our white wire and ground it and then black wire, again, is for power.
So, you can see here the light sends out a nice strong consistent signal. It's going to contain seven LED's, so it's going to optimize our light output, because of the multi-diode design. You can really see the reflex reflector taking effect there, it covers the entire lens except for right here in the center. So, we're going to have the one main LED and then we're going to have six other LED's that surround that main one. That's going to do it for today's review of part number MCL52RHXB. This is the optronics LED clearance or side marker light.

They have held up well. These were installed on a 2007 motor home. The LED lights are a nice upgrade. Good product. No issues in the first year.

I will have to say this is a first! I have never seen these used in that way and it is the best thing I have seen all day! That is one of my favorite vehicles so I am glad they are working well and they look great.
