This 2" round LED light puts out a bright, even red glow using 7 diodes that draw only 0.063 amps at 12.8 volts. Today, we're going to be taking a look at part number MCL52RHXB, this is the optronics LED clearance or side marker light. It's going to have a built-in reflex reflector, here on the mounting flange and over the main portion where the lights are. The round trailer light is going to serve as either a side marker light or clearance light. It is sonically sealed, so it's going to feature a water-proof housing and lens unit that's submersible. The LED's are going to make great replacements for incandescent lights. They're going to last a lot longer; they're going to be much more efficient, and you don't have to worry about replacing the bulbs and you don't have to worry about inaudible 00:00:38. We're going to have the red lens, again it's going to have that reflex reflector.
The lens and the housing is going to made from a poly carbonate material, it's very strong and very durable. This is a recess mount installation, it's got a built-in mounting flange, right here. And then this portion is going to be the recess portion. Can we take a measurement of that recess area real quick And that's going to give us a measurement of about two inches. Also, here at the back you're going to notice that it has a two wire design. White wire is going to be for ground, black wire is going to be for power.This is Department of Transportation compliant, and it is P-2 rated.
And it's going to come with the foam mounting gasket, it goes back there, just adds a little bit of cushion when you're ready to install it. You're mounting hardware is not included. We're going to take a few measurements real quick, starting with the diameter of just the light. That's going to measure about two inches. Overall diameter from outer edge to outer edge is going to be about three and one sixteenth of an inch. We measure the entire depth from the very back to the very front, we're look at about three quarters of an inch.
The mounting holes on the unit are going to be separated on center by two and one quarter of an inch, and that's going to be the same distance between each mounting hole. And then the diameter of the mounting hole is going to be about three sixteenths of an inch. This light's going to contain seven diodes or seven LED's. The power drawl at twelve inaudible 00:02:12 volts is 0.063 amps and optronics is going to put a life-time warranty on the LED's. We're going to go and hook it up to our extra power source, that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. So, take our white wire and ground it and then black wire, again, is for power.
So, you can see here the light sends out a nice strong consistent signal. It's going to contain seven LED's, so it's going to optimize our light output, because of the multi-diode design. You can really see the reflex reflector taking effect there, it covers the entire lens except for right here in the center. So, we're going to have the one main LED and then we're going to have six other LED's that surround that main one. That's going to do it for today's review of part number MCL52RHXB. This is the optronics LED clearance or side marker light.

Well to be perfectly honest they haven’t been installed yet. My helper was stung in the eyelid by a bee! He had to go to the hospital. I know this doesn’t say anything about the product, but it’s an interesting story. More importantly, these are just lights that I’m sure will work, but the guy on the phone that helped me order them was awesome!

The original is no longer available. This is a perfect replacement, using LEDs instead of an incandescent bulb. Note that the black wire is positive.
The led lights are of excellent quality, embedded to mounting base with epoxy. Strong and waterproof, service was fast and so was shipping.I am 100 % satisfied with this co. and the products they sell.

The light fixture is great, but it says black Base and it came with a white base not matching with my trailer’s right light!
I ordered a side marker light 6 diodes, the only thing that came in the package is a side marker light lens.

Excellent product . I replaced all the red and amber clearance and side marking lights on my 1989 Holiday Rambler trave trailer with LED ones recommended by a etrailer representative and they look and work better than the original ones when the travel was new. I had one of these particular lights that didn’t work on our 2019 Rockwood travel trailer, and after checking the wiring, I discovered it was the light. The new light was ordered, and delivered quickly. I have installed it already and it works as it should.
Show the back of the lamp in the sales pitch so people can see what they have to deal with when mounting them. Wire pinching. Same with the ambers. No gasket to seal the mounting area.
Did not expect to find the EXACT marker light needed. Had to fish for awhile. Original lights are 24 years old. The light purchased was EXACTLY like the originals except LED. Will likely be ordering more to replace any other of the non functioning originals.
Not thrilled with out having a notch or provision for the wiring to pass through. If you screw it down the wire will get pinched. The wires should come out of the middle in the back of the lamp not so close to the edge. Or some type of seal or gasket to protect the rear of the lamp from moisture getting in it. There is no photo of the back of the lamp in the sales video. Except the one when they are all thrown in the box.
I had to change my marker lights to LED when I upgraded my tail / brake lights to LED. Easy to install and they emit bright light.
The experience was exactly like it should have been. I recieved the light in a timely manner and it was an exact diplicate of my broken one, except the new one wasn't broken. Installed the light and it works like it should!!!

Needed to replace a vintage Bargman light on an RV. The new LED light is not as deep but was easy to wire. Had to drill new mounting holes but it did the job and works.
With several of the MCL31 clearance I had half or all of the LEDs stop working. I did not at the time realize they had a lifetime guarantee so I just threw them away. When A bunch of the LEDs in both BUL52CBs and about half of the turn/stop LEDs in the STL37RB went out, I contacted etrailer and they happily replaced them, but it took a couple of weeks and I had to pay the shipping. When I replaced all of my trailer lighting, I had thought that I would never have to worry about it again. LEDs should last forwver. That turns out to not be the case and it is a lot harder to change out hard wired LEDs than socketed incandescent bulbs. I wish I could find reliable long lasting LED trailer lighting.
Great replacement for my side mid-ship marker lights. My '08 Allegro Bay amber marker light cover had fell off due to the base of the original light base disintegrating from years of exposure. This MCLOO38ABB light fits the bill perfectly! Thanks etrailer for meeting the need!
I had to replace a side marker light on my 2015 trailer. I am the second owner and have had it for eight years. It came equipped with Optronics lighting all around, but one side marker had three of the six LED's out. So I replaced it with the same Optronics lamp. I have always had good results with Optronics and this is the first time I have seen a partial failure. No big deal. Replaced in kind and hopefully I won't have to worry about it again. They make good products and I would continue to purchase this brand.
