Features to know about

Clean Front End When You’re Not Towing: Hidden Brackets with Removable Drawbars

This setup keeps things simple and neat. The hidden bracket design means that once the drawbars are removed, the remaining brackets are practically invisible, tucked within the grille for a clean look. It avoids bulky hardware sticking out from the front, keeping everything protected from scrapes and scuffs when not in use.

Quick to Connect, Quick to Remove: Hitch Pin Attachment System

Hooking up your tow bar is easy thanks to the square drawbars that mount and remove with just two hitch pins. The pin-secure design lets you line up and lock in without dealing with complex mechanisms or extra tools. It’s straightforward and reliable—perfect if you want to get on the road fast without extra hassle.

Solid for the Long Haul: All-Steel, Computer-Cut Construction

The all-steel build is computer-cut for precision and strong enough to take on heavy towing stress. The black powder coat finish adds durability and corrosion resistance, so it can handle weather and road grime over thousands of miles. Once bolted on, it reinforces the front end and stays solid trip after trip.

No Welding Required: Custom Fit with Included Hardware

The base plates are made for a custom fit to your vehicle’s frame and bolt up using factory holes where possible. No welding is required, and all the mounting hardware comes in the box along with clear instructions to guide you through installation. It’s a straightforward project that gives you a secure base for your tow setup without major fabrication work.

Compatible with Roadmaster Tow Bars: Seamless Integration

This crossbar-style base plate kit works perfectly with Roadmaster tow bars when using the quick-disconnect crossbar (910021-00, sold separately). That means you can connect your existing Roadmaster gear without needing to modify or replace it—just latch on, pin in place, and tow with confidence.

It would be nice to find the location to write a review. Mostly the instructions needs to be updated. I cut a hole in my air damn when I didnt need to. I have toad it for several long 980 miles each way and the setup worked smoothly. It is permanently mounted on my 99 Ford Ranger. It only took me a couple of hours to install and test it. Im happy with it.

by:

Installed tow bar 483-1 plate on my 2006 Ranger 4wd XLT. Took 2hrs to install myself. Everything I needed was included, instructions were spot on. The hardest part was the 2 holes I had to drill which still only took 5 min to do. Installed loose until everything was in place and then tightened to spec.

by:

Nice quality materials heavy duty great job !
however the packaging could have been better other then that all is good.

by:

I've traveled 1000s of miles with this attached to my Mazda B4000 towing behind my motorhome, has not once given me any problems, works great with the tow sway, dang perfect. Thank you.

by:

Product is well built. The instructions were clear and easy to read. I recommend removing the bumper for easier installation. Very slim design. I also recommend part# RM-222 for easier removal of towbar. This product will be used on a daily basis. Thanks E-TRAILER on an awesome product.

by:

Product was very good and instructions were easy to follow. The price was right also. I also purchased the wiring kit to bypass the vehicle wiring system. Only problem was that once you drill the 1 Inch hole for the bulb holder unless your lens detach fro the back you have trouble getting the bulb in.

by:

Great quality and directions. I was able to install on my 99 ford ranger in about 2 hours in my driveway then towed it 1200 miles with no problems.

by:

Everything went smoothly, no missing parts no shipping damage and arrived fast. Online installation videos and written instructions made the project a breeze. Thanks etrailer for a pleasant experience.

by:

I installed 483-1 backing plate to my wifes ford ranger it was a little tricky at first then got the other side done in half the time all is torked to specs. thanks. will send pics later. shipping was fair ups can be kinda slow can't wait to try it out thanks again

by:

I am very pleased with my experience with etrailer.com.
The customer service was great and the order arrived very promptly with very easy to follow instructions that made installation a breeze. I completed the entire project within less that 2 hrs and it looks great on my truck. I wouldn't hesitate to order any future needs from etrailer.com.

by:

product looks very heavy duty, product should have better instructions with step by step including pictures. installation was easier when i took off front bumper (which wasn't in instructions) . i would have gave it an excellent review but instructions need improvement. also i called an installation location & they had ridiculous prices of $580-$640 for installation only.

by:

Ordered my Towbar and received it in just 4 days. Product looks well built and was easily installed. I’m using this kit to move my Ford Ranger across country. Towbar goes on and removes quick and easily. etrailer was professional and understanding of my needs. Their staff was very courtious and have very good knowledge of their product. I Purchased the complete kit, including brake kit. I have not yet towed yet but I’m hooked up and all is working and ready to go. Will up date my experience and take some pics after my trip.

by:

Some pieces had been coated too thick with paint where I could not slip them in place. I had to remove the excess before I could fit them in place.
The rest of the project went well and I believe it to be well made. Just waiting for the additional high low hitch I waited to order once I had it together for a proper measurement
