Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at this PTC custom fit engine air filter. This is going to replace your vehicle's existing filter to help improve its performance. This is going to be a custom fit for several different Chevrolet Equinox and GMC terrain years and engine types, including the 2018 and newer turbocharged, 1.5 liter I4 engine, as well as the 2018 through 2019, turbo-charged 1.6 liter I4 diesel engine and the 2018 through 2020, turbocharged two liter I4 engine. So this is going to have these embossed paper pleats here that are going to help collect any dirt and debris that's coming in through your air.
So it's going to trap those particles before they get to your engine where they could potentially cause harm. This is going to help to improve the oxygen flow. And of course, oxygen is needed for combustion. So it's going to help improve your acceleration and mileage for your vehicle. This does very easily install in your engine's air filter housing you can see.
We do have this silicone sealing gasket around the edges here. That's going to ensure that we're going to have a nice, strong seal between the filter and the air intake box. So no air is getting around it. It's all being forced down through those paper pleats. Now the manufacturer for this one does recommend changing the filter every 12,000 to 18,000 miles or about once a year.
But of course, that is going to depend on your environment. If you live on a gravel road or out in the desert where you're going to have a lot of dust, you're probably going to want to change it out more frequently than that, but it is definitely a very simple process. Anyone can do this, that you don't have to be a mechanic. You don't have to pay a mechanic to switch this out for you. One of the most simple things you can do to help take care of your vehicle.
Now, for those of you who do need a little bit more reassurance, that this is going to work for you, this is an exact replacement for the part numbers that you see on the screen there. So if you're going through your owner's manual or when you pull out the current filter, if you see any of those numbers, you can trust, this is going to be exactly what you need for your vehicle to make sure that you're getting that nice clean air into your engine. So that's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
