This design eliminates the bulky quick-disconnect crossbar you find on many systems. The direct-connect brackets mount right to the tow bar that slides into your motorhome’s hitch, so hookup is faster and cleaner. The base plate sits tight to the frame for a solid connection that handles heavy-duty loads without extra adapters or hardware in the way.
When you’re not towing, pull two pins and remove the front arms to leave a smooth, uncluttered bumper line. The hidden brackets sit farther back than standard styles, tucked within the grille area where they stay protected from scrapes and scuffs. It’s a low-profile setup that keeps your front end looking stock and prevents shin bumps when walking by.
Every bracket is laser-cut from solid steel for precise fit and consistent strength. The black powder coat finish resists corrosion from road grime and weather over thousands of miles. Once bolted to the frame, the heavy-duty design spreads load forces evenly, giving you confidence on cross-country trips or rugged terrain without flexing or fatigue.
The kit includes all mounting hardware and instructions for a straightforward bolt-on install—no welding required. Each drawbar locks in place with two easily accessible pins, making it simple to connect or remove even on uneven ground. With fewer steps in both installation and hookup, it saves time every time you set up to tow.
This base plate is made for Roadmaster tow bars that slide directly into a trailer hitch—such as the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, or Falcon 2. These brackets will not work with tow bars that require a hitch ball or with EZ Hook safety cables that come with some Sterling models, ensuring you get a solid match for your towing setup.

Great Product, heavy duty design. The videos were dead accurate as to how to install them on my 2012 Chev Truck.
Read the directions twice, watched install video and everything went together smoothly. It is necessary to pay attention to positioning so holes drill easily, l painted the bare metal at the drilled locations to prevent future rust.
I JUST GOT HOME AND FOUND MY ORDER FROM ETRAILER WAITING FOR ME ON MY PORCH. I have not as of yet tried to install it, but everything I will need for installation was included. I will comment later on as to how the installation went. Thank you etrailer for your fast response and delivery.
The installation videos for this product made the installation process easy. The only complaint that I have so far is that the rattle. I would like to see a simple anti-rattle product.

I had the towing brackets installed on my 08 GMC pickup by my mechanic today. The job only took him a bit under 1 1/2 hrs!! They look great and unlike my previous tow system, I will no longer need the quick disconnect tow bar assembly across the front of the tow vehicle.

Excellent construction. Arrived well packaged and undamaged. Instructions from manufacturer were thorough though a bit dated for more recent late model vehicles. The instructional videos on eTrailer.com were more up to date regarding newer body fascia/ bumper issues. There is a large bolt on the top of the bumper mount on my 2011 Chevy Avalanche LTZ that had to be either ground down or backed out to allow the insertion of the main frame insert. This was not addressed by anyone. I immediately towed my vehicle that weekend approx. 350 miles and everything stayed tight. Hookup to the Roadmaster Blackhawk 2 tow bar was as easy as advertised with no fuss. I do wish the receiver pins were a reduced size to approximate the 1.5 inch size of the removable arms instead of pins that would fit a 2inch receiver. It would be a cleaner look. There is NO perceptible whistle or noise from the empty base plates when driving the vehicle at highway speeds. Having said that, a nice touch would be to include an insert/cover for the empty base plates for appearances. I'm very pleased with the product. There needs to be more information on the product site regarding the selection of the MX baseplate vs. the XL baseplates. It wasn't until I received my products that I understood the differences and the way they attached to the tow bar.
Easy to install. Works great. Probably have 5,000 miles or more now towing with no issues.
Received my order and it contained all parts required to install. Installation was a breeze because each part fit as it was suppose to per installtion instructions which were also very easy to understand. Will do more buisness with etrailer in the future!!

Great product. Fitment on our 2008 Chevy Tahoe was as the instructions suggested. Drilling through the frame was required, and took a little time. The first side I worked on took about 3 hours whereas the 2nd side only took about 1.5 hrs. Very happy with the product.
Really easy install. This is my 4th vehicle I've installed a base plate on so I already had a good idea of what was going to happen. Instructions say the bumper stays on but six 10mm, two 7mm bolts and 4 plastic retainers and you have a ton more access with it off. Everything bolted up real nice.
Good install project for the more experienced DIY’r. Worked well, but we sold the Tahoe. Just did the install on our new F150.
Easy install, remove factory tow hooks slide new brackets in, mark and drill 2 half inch holes for each bracket install and torque all bolts, simple install quality Roadmaster product with excellent workmanship.
