When you’re not towing, you don’t want a bunch of hardware hanging off the front. This base plate uses a hidden bracket design where the square drawbars, or front arms, can be removed with two hitch pins. Once they’re out, the remaining brackets are nearly invisible and protected within the grille. It keeps the front end clean and free from bumps or scrapes when you’re walking by.
Hooking up is straightforward thanks to the crossbar-style setup and hitch-pin attachment. Each arm slides into place and secures with pins—no tools, no fuss. It’s quick to line up and lock in before hitting the road, making it easy to manage even if you’re doing the setup solo.

Overall the installation was great, however the process of drilling 3 - 1/2" holes in that little bumper that has a Rockwell Hardness of about 60, seems to be a bit over the top.The instructions are spot on, delivery was great, the quality of product was accurate. I am a happy boy!

The Base plate kit is well made and came with all the necessary hardware.Installation is relatively straight forward. I did have to enlarge two of the holes that didn't quite line up. But overall I'd recommend it.
Bolted right up. Installation should be done with bumper on, as you can't fit the ends through the louvers without some convincing. Works great so far. Was able to use a Stowmaster 5000 with it.
Installation was a bit trying. Ended up looking very clean and almost invisible.
Using the tow bar worked super easy and our motorhome hardly noticed the Mini Cooper back there.
Came quickly and is very high quality. Great directions/video from road master makes the installation step by step easy to follow.
Skill level is probably at the intermediate level depending on experience.
The #118-3 is a perfect fit on my 1995 Geo Tracker. When you pull off the removable arms you would never know they are there. The Quality is very good easy to put on all you have to do is drill 4 holes the tube on the base plate fits into the tube on the frame of the tracker and with the 2 bolts it is a solid fit. I was worried about the plate nut getting it inside of the frame but it went in easy when you put it over the frame tube and use a thin piece of metal to slide it in place. I’m very happy with it. I probably could of got it on without taking my bumper off but with only 4 bolts holding my bumper on it made it easier
Received today, was in great condition. Instructions were understandable. Was able to put on in an hour 15-20 minutes the wife and I haven't learned to post photo's

Once i got all the parts laid out it was pretty easy to figure out,everything fit great looks great they just made it easy to install, very fast shipping like the next day, they send emails for help dint need but they were there . i have ordered maybe a dozen times never a problem. I have several full size GM trucks with tow bar "base plates" and have towed these vehicles extensively, including cross country.
The Roadmaster 3154-1 are by far the strongest to the point of being almost over built and well concealed.
etrailer ordering was easy. Delivery was very quick. Price was lower than competitors I checked. What's not to like? Nothing!
We ordered tow mounts, road master tow bar and some accessories from etrailer for a 2009 Suburban. All the items arrived within a few days and packed in secure boxes. The items were delivered faster than I thought, only six days. Installed the base plate in less than three hours. It helps if you have an extra person to help remove the bumper assembly. No triming or cutting of the bumper assembly was needed in my install on a 2013 Silverado. The wiring kit will be installed in the next few days.
Called etrailer and gave my information pertaining to application. I received very concise guidance in the product to purchase. Item arrive a few days later and after a thorough reading of instructions I laid out my parts and installed the mounts. Went on both sides just as described. Took maybe 3 hours . My sales person was very knowledgeable and she went out of her way to assure me they would be there to help me . Thank etrailer good job.
Installation was simple. Only minor mods to bumper cover. Towed vehicle on several trips with no problems. Some of the paint on the hitch bar has rubbed off, but can be touched up easily. Overall excellent product, great customer service. I have made more purchases from e-trailer and am a happy repeat customer.
Was very easy for me to install. Have mechanical background. Used 1/2" cordless impact. Bought 3 new milwaukee titanium drill bits. To step up to hole size. I would say in all I spent an hour and a half in a parking lot hooking up a disabled 2008 Chevy Silverado. I followed the video on YouTube. They were several, plus, etrailer.com had a lot of information. Hooked up towmaster bar to 3/4 ton 2020 2500 GMC diesel. The 2008 Silverado towed behind the GMC I didn't know it was there.
