Question:

I have a Roadmaster Stowmaster 5000 that I have been towing a BMW. I had to design and build the car mount, but it has been from coast to coast. I have a 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 that I wish to tow. Can this Stowmaster be used? I dont know what goes on the truck for towing, but hope my unit can be used. Thanks in advance for your help.

The base plates we offer that are designed to work with your Silverado and can work with the Stowmaster tow bar is the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, part # 3154-1.

This base plate kit features removable drawbars that makes the base plates seem almost invisible.

I have attached a link to a helpful article about flat-towing you can check out. Since you want to make sure your tow bar is as level as possible I have attached a link to our high-low adapters you can check out as well.

If you need tow bar wiring for your Silverado I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 4-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, part # RM-15247.

Since supplemental brakes are required now in most states I recommend the Even Brake, part # RM-9400.
