Helpful Expert Reply:
The Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit # 3154-1 is a new and unused product.
Please feel free to contact our customer service representatives at 1-800-298-8924, and they can give you the current pricing, shipping and handling options available.
This base plate kit is compatible with your 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 4 wheel drive pick up. They are also compatible with the following Roadmaster tow bars: Sterling, Black Hawk 2, Falcon, Falcon 2, Stowmaster, and Tracker. To tow your Sierra I would recommend the Black Hawk 2 # RM-422.
If you do not already have these components to flat tow your 2013 GMC Pick up you will need the following items:
Tow Bar
Safety Cables
Tow Bar Wiring
Supplemental Braking System
The style of tow bar that is used is based on the connection style of your towing vehicle, and we offer either coupler or receiver style.
For some products the safety cables are included with the tow bar, but if not then I recommend the # RM-653. These safety cables are rated for 10,000 pounds.
For a tow wiring kit I recommend using the Hopkins # HM56101. This is a custom fit application for your truck and the T-style of connectors plugs in behind your existing taillights. Please note that a brake relay # RM-88400 will be needed for the installation of a supplemental braking system.
Finally to complete the tow bar installation many states are now requiring a supplemental braking system. For this I recommend the Roadmaster even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System # RM-9400.
Please check your GMC Sierra owners manual and make sure that your specific vehicle is capable of being flat towed and check to see if any modifications need to be done for flat towing.
I have included links to the products listed above, several helpful articles regarding flat towing, and a video for your reference.
