When you’re not towing, you’d never know the brackets are there. Went on just like you said and everything was just like except on my 96, it was much easier to secure the right hand bumper bolts after I took the vacume tank loose.

The base plate was perfect, as I expected, since it was the third one that I had installed on Jeep Cherokees. We towed the Jeep from Florida to Colorado and back with no problems, even though I needed your help to install the plate onto the bent chassis of my Jeep.

Bolt on installation takes a few hours; the more rust on your car the longer it will take. These brackets fit perfectly and are very strong. The kit comes complete with all new bolts.

My husband and I were able to install the Roadmaster base plates on our 92 Jeep Cherokee in just a couple of hours. It went on pretty much the same as the demonstration video on the etrailer web site. The minor differences were addressed in the printed instructions that were included in our package. We haven't put it to the test yet as we still need to tackle wiring for the Roadmaster Even brake system that we purchased second hand. We will be towing our Jeep with our 93 Safari Trek. Customer service provided by Marty was excellent. I will provide pictures at a later date.
I recently did a cost comparison on a set of baseplates 1418-1 . I forwarded the comparison to etrailer.com. the price was matched with a 10% discount . A well engineered product that mounts solidly to the chassis. No cutting or trimming of any stock components. With the tow bar mounts removed the mounts are recessed from the bumper and nearly invisible.

This is the third time I have order base plates and electrical hook ups from etrailer and love this company. We have a 1979 MCI Bus conversion and it is difficult at time finding things for towing etc for it because of age. Not with etrailer, they have it all. We have towed a 96 S-19 chevy, a 98 Jeep was next and this year we got a 2001 Jeep Cherokee which we got the electrical kit for from etrailer.com and the base plates are still on the way. Everything fits nicely and if you are unsure of how it all goes together just watch their video''s on the etrailer website which are very informational.

I recieved the shipment yesterday however I won't be able to install it on my Jeep until we get back to Alberta after spending the winter in southern California. My only question is where do I get the items that bolt on to the base plates that attaches onto the tow bar?Haven't seen those advertized.

I believe the part you are looking for is 910021-00 from Roadmaster. It is the Quick Disconnect Tow Bar Base assembly.
Deliver was quick, product was of good quality, fitment was reasobly easy but did have to cut a fender support bracket, the only complaint is the diagram was a little hard to see but that could have been 68 year old eyes ?? ??. Have always had good service from eTrailer.

The baseplate is probably going to outlast the Jeep. I’ll use them again if I get another Jeep JK model.
