Can Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit Mount Upside Down

Hello, for this setup can the removable arms be swapped side to side and flipped upside down to effectively lower the crossbar by a couple inches to align better with height of the tow vehicle? Physically I am able to mount it this way just want to be sure this is also safe. Thank you!

Hi David; the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # 1418-1 should not be mounted upside down. Even if you can physically do it it is not safe for towing. What you need is a high-low adapter like # RM-048-4 to keep you level. I went ahead and attached a link below which explains how to measure and choose the correct adapter for your setup.
