Question:
Hello, I just purchased a 2000 Cherokee XJ and it has the Roadmaster XL Base plate installed 1418-1, it did not come with the removable arms or the bar. I would like to tow the jeep with my truck and would like to know the easiest way to adapt my Smittybuilt Tow bar to this system. Thank you in advance for your help.

If you need to replace the removable arms for the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit part # 1418-1 that you have on your 2000 Jeep Cherokee then you are going to want to use the Roadmaster Replacement Arms for Base Plate Kits part # RM-ARMS.
Unfortunately, I do not have any way for you to attach your Smittybilt Tow Bar to the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit. You may be able to use something like the RoadMaster Base Plate to Blue Ox and Demco Tow Bars Adapter part # RM-033 but as we have not tested the two together I cannot confirm that is will work for you. You could also find a way to attach the Smittybilt bumper brackets to the ends of the removable arms but the best option I can offer you to tow your Jeep would be with a Roadmaster tow bar like the Roadmaster Tracker Tow Bar part # RM-020.
I spoke to a representative at Smittybilt and they said that they do not make any sort of adapter to work the with Roadmaster base plates
