When the back end starts to sag from a trailer or heavy bed load, the RoadActive Suspension kit adds the support needed to keep things level. With a 2,000-lb capacity, it strengthens your factory leaf springs so braking and steering stay consistent even with weight in tow. The variable-rated coil tension springs automatically adjust to your load, keeping your ride balanced without the harsh feel of an overloaded suspension.
Crosswinds, curves, and uneven roads can make a loaded vehicle feel loose. This mechanically active system reacts instantly to weight shifts, reducing sway and body roll before they start. Each unit’s coil tension springs engage right away under pressure, keeping the rear stable through corners and while towing. The result is a more planted, predictable feel whether you’re hauling a camper or carrying gear in the bed.
Heavy loads can twist leaf springs and cause wheel hop when accelerating or braking. The RAS design absorbs that force so your springs hold their shape and your tires keep grip on the road. By eliminating axle wrap, it prevents bottoming out and reduces wear on shocks, shackles, and tires—all while keeping traction steady in rough conditions.
This kit arrives fully assembled and bolts directly onto your existing leaf springs with no drilling, cutting, or welding required. Once installed and adjusted during setup, it doesn’t need ongoing maintenance or monitoring. It'll actively strengthen the leaf springs for improved ride quality with or without a load, and it is an all-in-one suspension system, which will improve stability handling and control. It helps eliminate axle wrap, wheel hop, and bottoming out, and it reduces dangerous sway and body roll while cornering.
It does help keep your ride level when you're towing or hauling a heavy load, and it does improve traction while you're breaking and accelerating.It does use a variable-rated coil tension spring, which automatically adjusts to your vehicle's load. It activates immediately to support the extra weight, and it will disengage when it's unloaded, allowing your leaf springs to perform as intended. There's no drilling, cutting or welding required.The eye hook bracket here wraps around the top of the factory leaf spring eye, and in the axle bracket on this end, they secure on top of the leaf spring and under the factory U-bolt plate. When you do get this, it's a fully assembled kit and all the hardware is included, and it is maintenance-free. The adjustments and the monitoring are done once you first install this, and then they aren't needed anymore after they're installed. This part is made in the USA.

Well It has not failed me yet. Being basically a spring under load all the time I am assuming the spring will stretch some over time and I will have to adjust tension accordingly. The pickup sits nicely on the thinner washer setting so I am leaving it there and hopefully that will help the system last longer.

What can I say. After a year of constantly driving through Texas roads and highways. I have moved twice and loaded the bed of my truck plus U-Haul 6x12 trailer and thy truck has not felt the load of it. The Active Road Suspension Leaf Spring is constantly sort of speak sensing if theres load so it can actively push it upwards. I have even driven up to the crazy roads of Pennsylvania and my pick drives smoother than when I got it from the dealer. Im telling you these things work. As any cautious driver upkeeping his own vehicle, I have periodically checked the bolts and location of the resistance in between the spring and it has not deflected or moved from its original installation. I believe every pick up must have these. It beats constantly putting air on the air bags especially in inclement weather like up here in Pennsylvania with the snow. I couldnt be more satisfied with this purchase. Thank you etrailer for offering this superb product.

After a year I am still pleased with this product. I had been adjusting the spring tension higher when towing and then back down after a trailering trip, but now just leave it adjusted to the trailer towing tension as the unloaded ride doesnt seem to suffer when the springs are tighter.

Still working great. Towed a Flaggstaff microlite 23LB Travel trailer prob between 5 and 5500 LB’s to Niagra Falls with no problems, truck sat level with trailer and 2 adults,2kids. Getting ready to make a 2,000 mile round trip to disney in florida in a few weeks.

OMG!! I have done extensive traveling with my trailer over the last year and the RAS system has made a huge difference in sway, road buffeting and squat. I can’t imagine not having this on any vehicle that tows!

Removed the Suspension Enhancement and installed Airlift. Cost more but rear-end isnt sagging 4.
