When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. I have this bolt lock, keyed to my Jeep ignition key. The self-keying is simple and takes less than a minute. I also have the other bolt products including a trailer tongue receiver pin lock, pad lock and Jeep hood lock. They are all excellent products.
I will have my friend order this product through etrailer.com . The reason i didnt give it a 5 is do to one flaw, Its made so you cant get a socket or a wrench on the nut to take it off, But you can get a crows foot with a ext and remove it. I made a sleeve to fit over the nut hex between the tire rim and the lock. It only took me a few minutes . I feel the company that makes this lock should include a sleeve, it would cost them less than one dollar and make the lock safer. The rekeying it to you jeep key worked just like they say great product.

I like this product because I do not need to keep track of another key. Could be a little smaller but works like it should.

the bolt is not at the good size for my vehicle - jeep has 2 bolt sizes for the wheel and nothing in the notice from bolt mention it and BOLT doesn't offer these 2 options.
Nice having to carry one less key. And it is always with me.

We have the dimensions in the description of the product. It requires that your wheels lug nut well measures 1 inch to 1 and 1 eighth deep and replaces one of your Jeeps half inch 20-thread lug nuts.
