Features to know about

Dial In Trailer Height

Trimax Razor Adjustable 2-Ball Mount

Different trailer tongue heights can leave your trailer sitting nose-high or nose-low. The adjustable drop bar provides 10" of drop or rise with 1" adjustment increments, giving you specific height positions to work with as trailer height changes. Your trailer can be set closer to level before you head out.

Switch Ball Sizes at the Hitch

Moving between trailers with different coupler sizes usually means changing the connection setup. The dual ball mount flips between 2" and 2-5/16" hitch balls, keeping both confirmed ball sizes on the same mount. Your setup can move from one supported ball size to the other by flipping the ball mount.

Carry Higher-Capacity Trailer Loads

Heavy-duty towing puts the hitch rating high on the priority list. This mount is rated for 20,000 lbs gross towing weight and 2,000 lbs maximum tongue weight, giving your towing setup defined limits for higher-capacity loads. You can match your planned load against those ratings before towing.

Move the Ball Mount Out of the Way

An exposed ball mount can remain behind your vehicle after the trailer is disconnected. The stow-away function positions the ball mount under the receiver when it's not in use. Your ball mount stays tucked underneath until the next hookup.

Video Transcript for Review of Trimax Locks Trailer Hitch Ball Mount - Razor Ultra Max Adj Alum 2 Ball 2-1/2 In - TMX95QR

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Trimax Razor Ultra Max adjustable aluminum two ball mount for your two and a half inch trailer hitch receiver. So this is an adjustable drop hitch, so you're gonna be able to fine tune the height of your trailer connection so that everything is going to stay level while you're towing. In this orientation, this is going to give you about a 10 inch drop, and then when you flip the shank over, you're gonna get about a 10 inch rise. So you're gonna be able to easily adjust this in one inch increments.

It's gonna be really easy to dial in that exact height that you are looking for. As you know, aluminum is much lighter than steel, so this is gonna be a lot easier to handle when you're installing it, adjusting the height, or just taking it off and on your truck. That's gonna make a big difference if you're moving it around or you just don't want to deal with a heavy hitch. Now another benefit of using aluminum is going to be the corrosion resistance. Aluminum doesn't rust like steel, so it's gonna tend to hold up better over time, especially if you're in areas with a lot of rain, snow, or road salt.

So I'm just kind of walking you through how easy this is going to be to get the height adjustment that you're looking for and I just swap the ball from the two and five 16 inch to the two inch. And then also another option that this gives you is when you are not using this, you can stow this. So you just put the ball platform at the back of the shank just like that. You'll secure it with your pin and clip. So when you're walking behind your truck, you're not gonna have to worry about potentially damaging your shins by hitting the ball.

So that's another great feature that this is going to give you. So I'm gonna line up the holes again here, and this is going to give you right at 20,000 pounds of towing capacity. And then you're also going to get 2,000 pounds of tongue weight. So this is gonna be able to handle most heavy duty towing jobs. And again, a dual ball mount.

So you're gonna get that two inch and two and five 16 inch ball. So you're gonna be able to tow different types of trailers without having to swap out the whole hitch. And I took some measurements before our time together just so you have a good idea of the size. So measuring from the center of the first hitch pin hole to the center of the ball, we're sitting right at about nine and three quarters inches. Moving to the center of the second hitch pin hole, about 10 and three quarters inches. And then from the center of the second hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, about one and three quarters inches. We do have this available in other rises or drops. So if you're looking for something that's greater than this or less than this, we do have those available also for different shank sizes in different materials as well. I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

  • Will Curt Anti-Rattle Hitch Clamp Work With Trimax Razor Ball Mount
Hey Kevin! Yes, the Curt Anti-Rattle Hitch Clamp # C34FR85HY can be used with the 2-1/2" Trimax Razor ball mounts. The fact that the Trimax has a solid aluminum shank isn't a problem since the Curt clamp is tightening the shank against the inside of your receiver. For the Trimax Razor Ultra Max you can choose from the following based on the rise/drop you need for your setup: -Trimax Razor Ultra Max Adjustable 2-Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitches - 6" Drop/Rise # TMX55QR -Trimax Razor Ultra...
