Features to know about

Keeps Your Trailer Level: Straight Shank with 0" Drop or Rise

If your hitch and coupler sit at the same height, this ball mount keeps things perfectly level. The straight shank design means there’s no rise or drop, so your trailer stays balanced and steady on the road. It’s a simple setup that delivers even load handling without extra adjustments or hardware.

Handles Heavy Loads: 10,000 lbs GTW with 2-5/16" Ball

Whether you’re hauling a boat, camper, or loaded equipment trailer, this mount is built to handle it. The 1-7/8" ball is rated for 5,000 lbs GTW and 500 lbs tongue weight, the 2" ball for 7,500 lbs GTW and 750 lbs tongue weight, and the 2-5/16" ball tops out at 10,000 lbs GTW and 1,000 lbs tongue weight. It’s solid steel strength that gives you confidence every time you tow.

Simplifies Trailer Swaps: Three Welded Balls in One Mount

Switching between trailers doesn’t have to mean swapping hitches. This tri-ball mount gives you three ball sizes—1-7/8", 2", and 2-5/16"—all welded in place. Just pull the mount from your 2" receiver, rotate it to the size you need, slide it back in, and you’re ready to go. The permanently attached balls can’t be loosened or lost, keeping your setup ready for any trailer on hand.

Built to Last: Hollow Steel Shank with Black Powder Coat

Towing gear takes a beating from weather and road grime, but this mount stands up to it. The hollow steel shank keeps weight down while staying strong under load. Its durable black powder coat finish resists corrosion trip after trip. Pair it with an anti-rattle kit if you want an even quieter ride.

Really solid, straight, and easy fit. What I like MOST is the customer service of eTrailer, however. I placed an order for the hitch and a wiring kit for my Toyota, including quicker shipping. One of their reps called me to let me know that an ice scraper I'd also thrown in, to get over the free shipping threshold, wasn't available, and ask me what I'd like to do. I guess I've gotten used to sub-par customer service, because it was a really nice change to have a person with good phone skills call me, talk through my options, and ask me what I'd like to do. Not an email, but a real person, with nice manners, who spoke to me like a person. It made my day, and I really appreciated it. Both products arrived the next day and were just as advertised. In a twitter-length summary: "Modern online service with an old fashioned personal touch--just what buying online should be." Thank you!!

I purchased the solid shank, for its ratings are extremely high. But I purchased from etrailer for their customer service. I have purchased from them in the past, but it has been some time. When looking for a new hitch and lock pin, they came to mind. And I am very pleased! Quick, easy and best priced. They communicate every step of the way. I wish I would have purchased some other items here, that I have bought lately.

Functionally, this hitch has been great with no issues to date. Aesthetically, the black color did quickly fade to a gray color within a couple of months. Ball surface also presented rust after very minimal use. That being said, I did buy a hitch to tow trailers, not look pretty.

The Best Multi-Ball Mount I Have Ever Seen. All Chromed Perfectly Welded In Place Balls. Solid As A Rock Steel Construction, Black Powder Coated And Baked Steel. I Will Have This
Hitch Forever. While Your At It Get Yourself A Keyed Locking Pin (A Few Drops Of Oil, And A Little Grease) Will Keep This Beauty Fully Functional For A Long Time To Come! "JustBob"

When its labeled as heavy duty they are not kidding. This ball mount is stout to say the least. Great price for awesome product!

by:

Everything we needed at a great price.

by:

Weights a ton. Seems very strong...10,000 pounds using the 2 5/16s balls. Good paint.

by:

Solid product! Built well. The arm itself is a solid piece (not hollow). Seems to be able to withstand years and years of abuse. I ordered this product and a few other items, and for some reason my order was sent to the wrong address. The customer service at etrailer.com were OUTSTANDING!! They first called for a follow up to see if I got my package, and then immediately got in touch with the shipping company to see where my parts were at. Long story short, they sent me out ANOTHER parts order immediately while an investigation was going on with the first order. These guys are AMAZING, I have never had a company do that in my years of ordering online send out another replacement of my order just to make sure that I was a satisfied customer. I will ALWAYS get parts that I need from a company that helps out their customers in that way. Thanks eTrailer!!

by:

Cool to follow up on your product. The multi-ball works as it should. I bought it since I didn't know if the trailer I would get would be 2" or 2 1/4. I tow a 4,000 # trailer/race car with it.

It's a heavy piece to carry around, but I feel that it will last a good many years. I did make a spacer to cram into the receiver, so the hitch doesn't rattle as much.
Otherwise it's great.

Very prompt service. Great to do business with. Well constructed product.

by:

Pleased with the parts. Was a little surprised/disappointed that the ball mount didn’t include a hitch pin. Guess that I should have read the description better, just a nuisance having to get one separately. Everything else was great.

by:

Fits perfect. Very nice look. Appears to be very durable.

by:

Fits in my Curt #14301 Hitch just great. With my half ton truck, i really only need the rated capacity of the 2" ball.

Having this just allows me to pull the larger (2 5/16") ball that often seems to get used as a replacement on old boat trailers.

See what our Experts say about this CURT Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

  • Recommended Ball Mount for 2 Inch Ball with No Rise and No Drop
For a 2 inch hitch ball that has no rise and no drop, I recommend the Curt Solid 2-Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 2" and 2-5/16" Balls - 10K - Black # C45660. For your anti-rattle, I recommend the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches # RM-061 which will give you the anti-rattle and then # e98880 for a locking hitch pin. If you want a 3 ball option I recommend # C62KR.

  • What Ball Mount to Use With no Drop
I applaud your creativity and that'll work but we can simplify it for you as well. Since you have only 1/8" drop you can just use a ball mount with no drop (or rise) so you don't have to put together multiple parts: - Curt Hollow Shank 2-Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 2" and 2-5/16" Balls # C45002 This is a straight ball mount with no rise or drop, and since it only has 2" and 2-5/16" hitch balls if you need a 1-7/8" ball instead you could use the tri-ball mount # C62KR. Along with either...

  • Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13381 Height When Installed On a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan
When we installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13381 on a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan in our shop the top inside of the receiver tube sat at 11-1/2" tall. Using a Curt Multi-Ball Mount # C62KR that does not have a rise or drop would put your coupler height at 12" to the bottom of the coupler. Without knowing the height of your 14 foot john boat trailer when it sits level I cannot tell you if you will need a rise style ball mount like the Curt Ball Mount # C45070. If you can tell me...

  • How to Easily Transport a 10 Kayak with a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox
I have a 2010 Chevy Equinox and I can tell you that a 10 foot kayak will not fit in the back of my vehicle so unfortunately I don't think you are going to be able to fit one in your 2013 Equinox. Maybe if you don't have a passenger and you put the front passenger seat down too, but not just with the back seats. If sounds like you are needing an easy way to load your kayak as lifting it up to a roof rack can be challenging. We do have an alternative solution for you though. This involves...

  • How to Choose the Correct Hitch Ball Size
A 2" hitch ball like part # A-90 is pretty standard but you really need to know what size hitch ball your coupler is compatible with. It should be stamped on the trailer coupler itself. If you already have a ball mount then you need to make sure that the shank of your hitch ball is compatible with that as well. The # A-90 has a shank with a 1-1/4" diameter and is 2-5/8" long. For people who will be towing different sized trailers it is a lot easier to have multiple hitch ball options....

  • Is the Curt Adjustable Multi-Ball Ball Mount Compatible with a Surge Coupler
Yes, you can use the Curt multi-ball adjustable ball mount # D900 with a trailer that has surge brakes. There may be a little more movement associated with this ball mount since it is pinned in so many locations but that would not cause any problems with a surge coupler. If you want something more stable then you could use something like # C62KR but it is not adjustable. Or for something that would be more stable and still offer adjustability you could use # BWTS10048B.

  • Ball Mount Recommendation For Trailer Hitch and Trailer Coupler with Same Height
Since your hitch and coupler height are the same, I recommend using a ball mount with a straight shank, like the Curt # C62KR. This ball mount features a 1-7/8 inch, 2 inch, and 2-5/16 inch balls. The straight shank on this ball mount will allow you to tow your utility trailer level. If you don't like the idea of a multi-ball mount, you can use a ball mount with a 2 inch drop, like the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount 3/4 inch Rise or 2 Inch Drop # AMSC2, with a hitch ball that has a rise, like...
