Hello, neighbors and friends, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at a Replacement Controlled Motion Hinge for your Lippert RV Entry Doors in a 5 Leaf option in Black. So, folks, basically, this hinge set's gonna replace or upgrade one existing hinge on your RV Lippert's entry door. So it uses what's called Controlled Motion technology or friction. And it can hold the door open in any position. So these are gonna be a tighter, if you will, hinge.
Obviously, three of these would stay in place, and then the two would turn when you're opening or closing the door. And again, they are a hard push or pull, if you will, by hand, obviously, 'cause they're not installed, but they are designed that way. So if you get these, don't expect 'em to kind of flip flop like a lot of common door hinges out there. They're not made that way. Again, they're made to hold that door open pretty much at any position.
So let's say you wanna open your door a little bit or a whole lot and hold it there. It'll protect and withstand wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour. Now, as you can see, it's a nice black powder coat finish over the steel metal. And everything's gonna have a nice long-lasting corrosion-resistant finish. You get all the screws here.
They all have a square tip. Kinda hard to see there, but it's a square bit you're gonna need. And they've been painted to match, so, nice touch on that. They are self-tappers, as well. Thank you for your review Dean, I just wish it was a better one. The Lippert hinge is a controlled-motion hinge, but the resistance can be subtle and is designed to engage once the door is installed and under load. If the hinge does not provide any damping once installed, it may be defective. Did you notice this before or after installing the door? Can you please respond directly to the email you receive with a short video showing how it is not working?
