Question:
For the average small trailer like for landscaping or towing a forwheller or boat or anything tghat size should a 2 inch ball be standard

Expert Reply:
A 2" hitch ball like part # A-90 is pretty standard but you really need to know what size hitch ball your coupler is compatible with. It should be stamped on the trailer coupler itself.
If you already have a ball mount then you need to make sure that the shank of your hitch ball is compatible with that as well. The # A-90 has a shank with a 1-1/4" diameter and is 2-5/8" long.
For people who will be towing different sized trailers it is a lot easier to have multiple hitch ball options. In this case using a ball mount like part # C62KR or part # BWTS10048B is the best way to go.
