Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a quick look at this REDARC mounting panel. This is going to replace the mounting panel that originally came with your Tow-Pro Elite electric brake controller. This will allow you to install the brake controller's control knob in your dash or console. I do have an example of the mounting panel that comes with your Tow-Pro Elite.

So obviously the first difference that you can see is that our replacement is a lighter color than the original but the main difference, if I hold them side by side you can see that the original is going to be a little bit longer than our replacement. So our replacement is going to be designed for dashboards between three 30 seconds of an inch and three sixteenths of an inch thick. So, if the original isn't fitting in your dashboard this is gonna be a great option to allow you to mount that control knob where you want to. In order to use this, we just have to remove that inner mechanism from the original mounting panel. So we just pull out on these tabs on the side here and then we'll push on our knob.

The fence allows us to pull that out and we can just simply move that to our new announcing panel. We'll click in place, and that's still going to connect to the same wiring harness that came with our Tow-Pro Elite. So nothing is gonna change except how this gets mounted. That will allow us to have the room that we need to get this to go through our dashboard. The front dial will still attach the same.

Everything will be the same just be the dashboard thickness that will be different. Now there is a separate kit that you could potentially get it's gonna have the exact same mounting panel. It's gonna be living right behind your dashboard but this other kit is gonna provide a face plate that will kind of dress up your installation. So you get a little bit cleaner, look it looks more like it originated with your vehicle from the factory. So that is another option for you, basically the exact same mounting panel just comes with that additional face plate desk there that you can mount on the outside.

So just wanted to make you aware of that. They are basically exactly the same just missing that extra component. So if you are needing a mounting panel for your three 30 seconds, up to a three sixteenths of an inch thick dashboard this is going to be the piece for you. This will allow you to make sure that your control knob is where you need it to be so you can easily adjust that brake power and make all those fine tuning adjustments that you need for your brakes on your trailer.
