Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the Momentary on off switch. This comes with the faceplate, so you can mount this up to your trailer and have it looking nice. This is intended for uses like on a fifth wheel trailer or a fifth wheel motor home to operate your landing gear or your jacks, so it's just going to be an on off switch, but it's only going to be operated as long as you hold down the button, hence momentary switch. So this is going to be a replacement for an existing switch, or maybe in addition to your motor home if you didn't already have one, but if something happened to your original switch and you need a new one, this should be a good replacement for you. Again, you can see that faceplate on the outside, kind of cleans up the look, it makes it look nice and professional. It does not come with the hardware, so you will have to provide that on your own. Just a couple of little screws should do on either side.Again, this will only work for as long as you hold that switch down as soon as you release, it's going to stop sending out power.
This is going to be a double pole, double throw switch. Basically what that means is that it can operate two things in two switches, so it's going to be on, or on running in or out, for both sides of your landing gear, just changes that current from one track to another for two items, that makes it simpler to think about. As far as the power rating with this, it's going to be rated for 20 amps at 125 volts AC, or 15 amps at 250 volts AC and 40 amps at 12 volts DC.As far as the size for the cut-out, you'll need at least an inch, an inch and a 16th, maybe an inch at, an inch even. There are little times on either side to provide the tension, to hold it in place in that faceplate. So we shouldn't have to worry too much about those.
Those are going to be out by about an inch and a quarter, going the other direction, got about seven eighths of an inch, as far as the width, the face plate measures about two and three quarter inches, by about one and five eights inches. The depth here it's pretty shallow, it's about three eights of an inch overall. It's about one and a quarter. It is made in the USA, obviously comes in white and that's about all there is to it for our look at the 12 volt Momentary on off switch with faceplate. I hope this video has been helpful. One last measurement, that'll give you, the distance between those mounting holes, just to make sure if you need it to match up with your original, about two and eighth inch apart on those.
And the diameter is about three 16th of an inch. So three 16th inch hardware should work just fine for you. That's it for me. I hope this has been helpful in deciding that this is the right one for you, again I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
