Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're taking a quick look at the momentary switch. This is a single-pole double-throw switch. And basically what that means is that it's a momentary on/off/on switch. So as we hold one side down, it powers on our item, and then as we let go, it turns it off. We could put it to the other side.
That's also going to send out an on signal, but to a different direction. So it's going to work for something that has two different functions that you want to turn on, maybe something that extends and then retracts. And it allows you to do that with this switch. So this can be a replacement or an addition to something that you need to have powered up.So let's take a little closer look at it. Pretty straightforward switch here.
We'll have our three connection points to make it the back for our electrical connection. The switch there with that momentary rocker design. The power specs for this: It works with 13 amps at 125 volts AC, or 10 amps at 250 volts AC, or 5 amps at 14 volts DC.As far as size, the outside of the switch measures about 1 1/4 inch by about 5/8 of an inch. The cutout size that this will work with: It does have a little bit of wiggle room for the tines there on either side. So you need at least 1 1/8 inch. That's about the minimum that this will fit into. And then the width is about 9/16 of an inch.
If you're making an opening for this to fit into, you could maybe get away with 1 1/4 inch size, but between 1 1/8 inch and 1 1/4 inch should work out just fine.It is black in color, made in the USA.And that's about all there is to it for our look at the momentary switch. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right piece for you. If not, we do have a lot of other options for switches here at Etrailer. So definitely check them out if you need to. Thanks for watching.
We'll see you next time.
