Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the JR Products, RV Landing Gear Switch, and this is going to be a replacement for any kind of damaged or broken switch that would need to extend or retract for your fifth wheel or Tongue Jack, that this is going to be a momentary style switch. So that just means that whenever we press that down and hold it, that's going to engage our motor to either extend like I have it here. As soon as we let go, it'll stop. Same thing for the other side.
If we want to retract, it'll go until we release that switch. So it's only engaged for the moment that we have it held down. The back will have our connection points to get everything wired up correctly. This is rated for 16 amps at 125 volts AC, 15 amps at 128 volts AC UL, and 10 amps at 250 volts AC, with three quarter horsepower at 250 volts AC, and 30 amps at 12 volts DC.As far as the size, this is going to measure about three quarters of an inch for the cutout. And then I'd say that you probably just need about an inch and a half for the other direction.
It has these little tines on either side that will squeeze in place and then hold the tension to keep that there. If we push those all the way in it's a little bit narrower than that. It's closer to about one and three eights of an inch, but anywhere between one and three eights and one and a half inch, you should probably be good, as far as that cut-out size. The overall size of the switch, it's about an inch by an inch and three quarter. The distance that it's going to come out away from wherever we're mounting it to is about three eights of an inch.
The total length, including the tines on the end or those spade connectors is about one and seven eighths inches. Just for reference there. This does come in black it's labeled extend and retract, and it is made in the USA. That's going to do it for our look at the JR Products, RV Landing Gear Switch..

It would have sucked to hand crank the landing gear down & up.
The switch works perfect, but it took two months to get it
Tried to find this Atwood landing gear part only to find they were bought out by another company and my lift was no-longer available and parts are scarce to find. I had previously visited the etrailer sight for running lights that pace american trailer used and figured i would give them a try. Low and behold they had a switch similar to the one I had. I ordered the switch thinking that I would have to modify my lift body to accommodate the switch, when I recieved the switch I found that it fit perfectly and according to the wiring diagram the people at Atwood had wired it incorrectly. Im happy I no longer have to use the rescue hand crank.
I cannot believe your service!!! First, I did a google search on a Sunday. Your site came up with the one of the parts I wanted, but not the other. I called you support line thinking I would get a recording on a Sunday, but "No" a real person. I told her what I was looking for, she went to other sites to get sku's to cross reference in your site, but was unable to find it, but she spent the time for a $xx item. I ordered the part you had on Sunday, with standard shipping, and I received it on Weds. I live in the middle of no where, and [other online stores] can't get me my orders that fast.

I don't normally give reviews, and when I do, it is normally to complain. I just can't believe how good you guys are!!!
I included a photo. You can see I installed the switch that you have, we will see how long it takes for the other switch from a different company (and I might add, a simple on off switch at three times what this switch cost from you) I broke the switches driving my tractor with the box scraper too close. Luckily it was only the switches I hit.
This switch has been in use for about 8 months. Installation and functionality was good when first installed. Now, the switch sticks when actuating it, the internal spring does not return the switch to the home position. This is somewhat inconvenient, as you have to carefully monitor the function of the stabilizers it actuates.
Affordable switch to have on hand. Previous correspondence between a tech and another customer confirmed that it was the right part to order. In a perfect world, it would've come with a trim piece to cover the existing cutout.
Was exactly the part I needed. Previous switch had a small button to depress to get wire clips off, but new one fit great and works like a charm.

I WAS DISAPOINTED THAT THIS SWITCH DID NOT COME WITH THE RUBBER WEATHER PROOF SEAL AND THE SWITCH ITSELF WAS A BIT SMALLER THAN THE ORIGINAL SWITCH. I HAD TO MODIFY THE SWITCH TO GET IT TO FIT TIGHTLY. ELECTRICALLY THE SWITCH WORKS FINE AND SHOULD HOLD UP.

Switch on my Atwood tongue jack [ 2017 Airstream Flying Cloud ] died. The RV Landing Gear Switch was a plug & play drop in replacement.

This was the exact switch I needed. Delivered on the expected date. It was installed on my electric jack and had the wiring diagram on the package. The RV dealer would not replace the switch and said they could only replace the entire jack. I replaced the switch myself and saved $100 plus labor.
Works great, had to silicon it to keep from the weather. Same plugs as my OEM Passport trailer by Keystone
This switch is the one that RAM uses for one if their RV trailer jacks i ordered. But to reorder a replacement, it took apx. 4 months to get! To bad the RAM company in Vancouver, WA. wouldn't sell me one. Not etrailers fault. They did finally get me one. Very appreciative!
This is basically the same switch that is on most 5th wheels or trailers with 12 volt electric stabilizer jacks. Lippert has them in their catalog for $30+ dollars and in 6 years we have replaced four of them. Always a good idea to keep a spare while you’re on the road.

OEM replacement, too bad when I started researching this part I was directed to buy the wrong part for fitment. Once I figured it out, I contacted etrailer and Carol C took care of me. Thanks, because of your help, I have been out camping twice.

ELECTRICALLY IT WORKED FINEHOWEVER, FOR MY JACK IT DIDNT FIT PROPERLY AND DIDNT COME WITH THE WEATHERPROOF RUBBER SEAL. I HAD TO SWITCH, NO PUN INTENDED , IT OUT FOR ONE THAT WAS MADE FOR MY JACK.
