Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the single RV switch. This is going to be available in both white and black switches. They're going to have all the same specs and size. They're pretty much the exact same otherwise. These are both going to be a Single Pole Double Throw.
Basically what that means is that it's going to turn two different things on or off or direct the current from one thing to another. If you think of it as a stream, it's going to flip the flow from one thing to another. It should allow you to operate anything, maybe a light that's going from low to high, something like that, or maybe a fan, same thing.Again, just the two single switches. Take a little closer look at those. There should be a direct replacement for whatever appliance you might be wanting to replace that got damaged or broken, or maybe it's just worn out.As far as the size, the cutout dimensions measures about three eights of an inch just over...
Excuse me, about five eights of an inch just over half an inch by about an inch and an eighth. There's these two little tabs on either side to help give it some tension to hold into the cutout. At most, it could fit into a hole that's maybe an inch and a quarter, but the smaller that size is the more it's going to hold in there well. About an inch and an eighth will probably be a good size to go with.Again, it's the same for both outside dimensions. It's about three quarters of an inch wide by about an inch and a quarter.
The depth of the actual switch to the surface, it's about three eights of an inch. The electrical specs for this. Can run 16 amps at 125 volts AC or 12 amps at 250 volts AC. Can also handle a three quarter horsepower at 123 up to 250 volts AC and it's rated for five amps at 14 volts DC. Again, get black or white, same specs for both. They are made in the USA and that's pretty much going to do it for our look at the single RV switch on, off or on.
Again, these are going to be Single Pole Double Throw. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if these are the right switches for you. If not, we do have other options available here at etrailer.com, so check them out. Thanks for watching.
