Extensive Testing
InfiniteRule products undergo extensive third-party testing to determine shear strength. The shear strength is determined by placing the hitch lock in a stress position and subjecting it to increasing force until a required proof load (maximum force received without deformity) is met or the pin fails. This hitch lock has a shear strength of 30,000 lbs.
The InfiniteRule hitch lock is used to secure your swivel hook or shackle to your bumper mount. This allows your InfiniteRule lock to be used for towing and off-road activities such as rock crawling, mudding, and recovery. The safe working load limit is 10,000 lbs.
The flush-style design prevents the lock from being broken or pried off your swivel hook or shackle. The tapered head provides an additional layer of theft deterrence by preventing a would-be thief from being able to grip the lock with pliers or a wrench.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the InfiniteRule 7/8th-inch diameter hitch locks for the Roadmaster tow bar adapters. Now these are durable stainless steel locks that are going to provide peace of mind when you're securing your Roadmaster tow bar to your Roadmaster tow bar adapters that are on your vehicle. This hitch lock is going to replace the standard pin that comes with the tow bar adapters. Application again, this is for Roadmaster tow bar adapters we sell separately, part number RM-035 and RM-035-1. And just to show you, if you're not familiar with those adapters, what we're talking about, going to pop up and insert there and you can see there's the pair of adapters.
You can see it has pins with it. These locks would have replaced those pins. Now these do have a safe working load limit of 10,000 pounds, the sheer strength of 30,000 pounds, the pin diameter 7/8th of an inch. Now the inside length or the span, they call it, is going to be measured from here to the lock head. So on this one, if we put a ruler on it, it's going to measure right at two and 3/8th-inches for the inside length.
As you can see, this is for a quantity of two locks. They are a durable stainless steel construction, prevents rusting. They go through rigorous testing to ensure this hitch lock can handle extreme towing and off-road activity. Now I did take this one apart. As you can see on the inside has this nice o-ring on here, which protects the internal components from dirt and grind.
On the head portion, it does have this nice weather resistant tethered dust cap that'll keep the water and debris out of the keyway. Comes with the two keys. But again, with it apart like this, when you go to install this, you'll stick this through the adapters. When it comes through the other side, you'll take the head, line it up, and what you'll do is just turn it till you hear it click. Now it means it's lined up and then turn to the lock keyway.
And if you'll notice, if you look close, there's four marks on it, 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, and 9:00. And that's going to come in handy when you remove the key. So to install it, just go ahead and put your key right in there and just go ahead and start twisting it like you're tightening down your bolt. And then when you get it all the way, you just snug it up and then that's where the marks will come into play. To take the key out, it won't come out unless it's at one of those marks. You just back it off a little to the mark and the key comes right out. Put your dust cap on there and it's all locked into place ready to go. Now as we mentioned, two keys are included. These parts are made in the USA. I wish I saw or was told to get the correct length. I searched locking pins and found the ones that were for shackles and tow bars. After they arrived I found that they were longer than needed. Then I went back on your website and found the correct length (for blue ox 2-5/8). I called and was told that they would work the same and be safe. I’ll be trying them out in a few weeks.
Not necessarily a problem with the actual item, but the diameter is too large to fit the 5/8" pin-hole of my Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow Bar and receiver hitch and I was unable to try it.
Seems like it will do what i need it to do to safely tow my jeep
