Received the winch and all looks good. I ordered a new boat trailer so the winch hasn't been installed yet. Will let you know when it's installed

Installed cables. 35A breaker is not insulated and required additional cable to connect to modern battery terminal - so had to buy an insulated breaker. On first use, the small gear on the motor drive shaft fell off because it was installed at the factory without a snap ring. Luckily I found it and fashioned a snap ring for temporary use to load the boat (see picture). Then learned the clutch was set excessively low - would not pull anything close to 1000 pounds. Manual says to not adjust clutch more than 20 degrees, but that would not pull as much as a 2000 lb ratchet strap. I see the other good reviews on this product, but clearly mine was built with some serious QC issues. Hard day on the boat ramp. Grateful for the help and patience of fellow boaters. I am beyond the 60 days to return this product since I bought and installed it over the winter to enjoy this boating season.

Shopped around a lot before I bought this. My boat is heavy (7500 lb) and the wench I had struggled. I took a chance on this as it was rated for the weight. I used the Anderson style connectors and installed a breaker near the battery. Pulled new wire rated for the amp draw. I couldnt be happier! This thing is a beast! Has no prob pulling my boat and cant see that it struggles at all. Highly reccomend. Photo is during installation. I put a cover over it due to my anchor comes close when launching and didnt want it to hit.

The product is great. I replaced a 2001 Strong Arm with this 2024 Strong Arm on my Floe Vertical lift. Having the remote control built in is very nice.

by:

Works good. The cable unravels and creates a little bird nest if it doesn't have tension. A strap would be better, but more prone to breaking I suppose.

by:

Works as it should. Mounted it on vertical pwc lift replacing handwheel. Has pwc up in 30 seconds. Was easy to mount with just two holes. Switch requires some force to operate but not a big deal. Would definitely recommend this for this type of application.

They were exceptionally helpful in deciding which winch to buy. I got this for my pontoon boat on a slide bumper trailer. I wanted to make sure it would have enough power to pull my 24 ft pontoon. This winch is honestly one of the best purchases I have made for this boat. It easily pulls my boat up onto the trailer. Total time to load about 2 mins. I have had many envious looks at my electric winch. Thank you again. For the help in deciding which one to get.

I purchased this winch to replace a Fulton K2550 manual winch on my ham radio tower. My tower is 54 ft tall when extended and 21 ft when retracted. It takes about 170 turns of the winch to raise/lower the tower. I removed the hand winch and placed the D-L SA9010AC winch in the existing mounting holes. I like this winch since it comes with a stainless hub since it will be used outside. This winch has a 2700 lb load rating. I am lifting around 700 lbs. This winch comes with no cable or freewheeling clutch. I reused the 1/4" stainless cable on the winch. I raised the tower and it took 2 minutes and 10 seconds. Lowering took 2 minutes. Well within the maximun run time of 3 minutes. The cable length winched was 17 ft. I have raised and lowered the tower several times to work on the antenna's and it worked properly every time. Attached are several pictures of the installation. I already recommended this winch to another ham operator.

Works great, fit my trail weight boat trailer, with a 24 foot pontoon

by:

Put this winch on my Ranger 620 boat trailer a year ago and love it! Haven't had a single problem and it helps trailering when I fish alone. I ran power and ground from my truck battery to a back bumper plug, and have a separate removable cable (shown in pic) to connect truck plug to the winch plug. Grounding to the truck didn't work for me. I have another spare cable and plug rolled up and attached to my trolling motor battery for when my buddies drive. Winch prevents power loading and drawing sand into the motor. DL24055 adapter plate was needed and I put a coupler lock up through the middle of the winch to prevent theft and I bought a cover (shown in pic) to keep the rain out. etrailer sales and support are absolutely fabulous! They helped me figure all this out.

E-trailer service team, Lauren, was excellent. When my critical delivery delayed she came up with several options to get me a new part on time to support my need.

by:

I love the winch for the strap is a great upgrade than the power winch with metal cable which would rust, wire strands would break off, and cut your hands, and the cable would not retrieve back on winch even. The cons I see is the strap has become dried out after use on the end at the hook and it wants to double over on same area. Another concern I have is you have to tighten the clutch knob very hard when retrieving in or it will back off and free spin back out. Just have to wait and see if this becomes a problem in the future.

by:

Works great! The only thing that would make it better is to make the tensioner knob easier to grip when your hands are wet

by:

Absolutely a great product I have used before. The trailer is a great company to deal with.

by:

Easy to install, works great. Moves a 650 lb load with ease. Noah at customer service was very helpful and professional

by:

I am a 77 year old man and having to hand winch my small sailboat up on a shore ramp that I have. It was getting to be a bit much, so I decided to look into a 12volt winch. The Dl25200 fit the bill, works great. I have a 12volt battery next to it and a 10 , watt solar charger to keep the battery up, I hope. Time will tell. The service at etrailer was great, good price and fast shipping. Thanks

by:

Just got installed so haven’t been to the lake to try it. I’m hoping it will make it easier to recover my boat when I’m by myself.

by:

Perfect replacement for my old winch. Took only a few minutes to install.

  • Electric Winch For Use With Boat Trailer
The Superwinch gets wired to an ignition switch, so it isn't something that is meant for a boat trailer. The fastest 12 volt electric winch that can be powered with a 12 volt battery with a boat trailer is the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm 12-Volt DC Electric Winch with Remote # DL25220. This is rated for boats up to 9,000 lbs, pulls between 15 ft/minute (no load) and 6.3 ft/minute (full load), and can run for up to 4 minutes at a time, so it will certainly be faster than 2 feet per minute.

  • Will Dutton-Lainson StrongArm 12-Volt DC Electric Winch with Remote Work with a 2,500 lb Boat
The Dutton-Lainson StrongArm 12-Volt DC Electric Winch with Remote # DL25220 is an excellent option for your 2,500 lb boat. The 3,000 lb weight rating is for rolling loads, but this can actually handle up to a 9,000 lb boat, and since you have rollers on your trailer it will just make it that much easier on the winch. To mount this you can either use the mounting plate # DL24059, or the mounting plate # DL24055 depending on what you already have on your setup.

  • Availability of Dutton Lainson Strongarm Winch that Can be Used for Vertical Lifting
I spoke with my contact at Dutton Lainson and she stated that the StrongArm Electric Davit Winch, # DL25720, would work well for vertical lift as the winch does not have a clutch. I have included a link to the installation details for the winch below.

  • Does Dutton-Lainson StrongArm 9K Electric Winch Come With Remote
The Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch # DL25215 has the control mounted to the side of the winch, but if you get the model # DL25220 it does come with a remote. This is actually the same exact winch just with a remote instead of the control on the winch itself. Attached are review videos for you to check out.

  • Can Dutton-Lainson StrongArm 12-Volt DC Electric Winch Use Stainless Cable
The Dutton-Lainson StrongArm 12-Volt DC Electric Winch with Remote # DL25220 is only compatible with a strap but we do have 12V winches with a remote that are compatible with a cable. For example, we have the Bulldog Winch # BDW15017 which has an exposed spool or the ComeUp DV-4500i # CU644512 which has an enclosed spool. Both of these are around the same price-point, are powered via 12V power, and come with remote controls. Attached are review videos for both winches as well as a link...

  • Car Trailer Winch Recommendation Made in the USA
We do! I recommend checking out the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm 12-Volt DC Electric Winch with Remote # DL25220. This is made in the US and has a 3,000 lb weight capacity. The handheld remote comes with a 10' cord so you have some freedom of movement during operation if you need it. Attached is a review video for you to check out.

  • How to Properly Wire Electric Winch and Trailer Jack on a 2019 Ford F-150
Hey Santiago, to power your electric jack off of the 7-way and/or the battery I recommend installing the Trailer Wiring Junction Box # 3375601100 and connect your jack to the 12v circuit that your battery would also be connected to. This would allow your jack to draw power from both your tow vehicle's 7-way or your trailer's battery. To add a winch like # DL25220 you'd just need to run the leads from the winch to the battery on the vehicle.
