Video Transcript for Redline 2-1/2" Rubber Bumper Review

Male: Today in our enclosed trailer, well be installing the Redline rubber bumper in the 2-1/2 round, part number 385800. To mount the new Redline rubber bumpers, were going to be using the Redline inch-and-a-half long standard torx trailer floor and wall liner screw, part number TFX150. Were going to begin here by opening up the side door. We need to undo the chain that limits how far the door can open. This customer would like the door to open all the way up to allow him to load an ATV in through the side door. Now that we have the chain removed, were going to go ahead and open the door all the way up and line up where well need to mount our new rubber bumpers on the side of the trailer. The rubber bumpers will be mounted to keep the side door from opening all the way up and making contact with the outside of the trailer.

For the bottom one, well have to mark our location and then well have to drill a hole here because theres not an existing screw where wed like to mount the rubber bumper. Youll also notice that theres a little piece of trim here that were going to have to groove out the back side of the rubber bumper to allow it to fit flat against the side wall of the trailer. To do this, well simply use our rotary tool and trim out an area on the back side. Now that thats done, well go ahead and use our 7/32 drill bit to put a pilot hole in for the lower location. Now that weve got our hole drilled, well go ahead and take our rubber bumper and were going to add a couple washers here because theres a larger hole in the center of the rubber bumper from the screws that were actually using. Go ahead and put both washers on and then well put the new screw in place.

Well go ahead and tighten it down, and double check to make sure it does what we want it to. As you can see here, the door is not hitting the side of the trailer anymore. On the top location, well take out the existing screw thats in the side wall. We do have to run our 7/32 drill bit in at the top location to enlarge the hole just a little bit and, again, well add a couple washers in place and then well put our screw through the rubber bumper and install it in the top location. Now that weve got the top one tightened down, that will complete our installation. As you can see here, the door no longer hits the outside of the trailer, and thats it for our installation of the Redline rubber bumpers in the 2-1/2 round, part number 385800 on our enclosed trailer.

This is definitely the place you want to do business with. I ordered parts for our cargo carrier to haul our car. It was easy to figure out just what we needed (since we were novices). Received our order in 3 days. Great service!

Comments
It worked great for us. We had 3 vehicles to get from point A to point B and only 2 drivers. The etrailer tie-downs worked great in towing our car in our cargo trailer. Havent had to use it since, tho.from point A to point B and only 2 drivers.

  • Would Torx Screw TFX150 Work Well Installing 3/4 inch Thick Deck
The 1-1/2" Long Standard Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw # TFX150 would be a great option for installing your 3/4 inch treated deck in terms of length and corrosion resistance.

  • Type and Size Fastener to Attach ACQ Treated Deck Boards to Aluminum Trailer Frame
The length of the screw you need will depend on how thick the tubing is. You can use the shorter 1-1/2 inch length # TFX150ACQ, which will get you through the deck boards and into the tubing. The screws we offer are specially designed to work with the ACQ treated wood. If you used anything other than screws rated for ACQ lumber (like the # TFX225 you referred to) or ones made from stainless steel, they chemicals in the wood would cause the hardware to corrode pretty quickly. The screws...

  • Thread Pitch of Redline # TFX150ACQ Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw
The # TFX150ACQ Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw measures 1-1/2 inches long and 1/4 inch in diameter. The thread pitch is approximately 16 threads per inch.

  • Recommended Screws For Plywood Deck on Snowmobile
I recommend the treated torx screws for treated wood for better corrosion and rust resistance. The treated torx screws like the Redline 2-1/2 Inch Long Torx Trailer Screw for ACQ Treated Wood, part # TFX150ACQ, are plated with a material that will resist the preservative used in treated wood, which is very corrosive because of the high levels of copper it contains. When using treated timber it is necessary to use double-galvanized or stainless steel fasteners. The plating material used...

  • Which Torx Trailer Deck Screws for 2 x 6 Floor Boards
Since a 2x6 board is about 1-1/2 inches thick, I don't think using 1-1/2" Long Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw for ACQ Treated Wood # TFX150ACQ is going to provide sufficient contact with the trailer frame. For that reason I recommend going with the 2-1/4" # TFX225ACQ or 2-1/2" long # TFX250ACQ, which will give you enough screw to install into the steel. You will still want to drill pilot holes for this application, as you've noted.

  • What Size Hole is the T-Handle Locking Stainless Steel Flush Door Latch # L4080 Designed to Fit
The T-Handle Locking Stainless Steel Flush Door Latch # L4080 that you referenced is designed to be installed in a 2-3/4 inch by 3-3/4 inch hole. You will need to cut a hole that size in the door you have where ever you want the latch to be. For wood screws you could use the # TFX225ACQ for a 2-1/4 inch long screw or the part # TFX150 for a shorter screw that is 1-1/2 inches long. I attached a review video for this latch for you to check out as well.

  • Recommendation For Screws To Attach Pressure Treated Decking To a Flat Trailer
I would recommend to use the treated torx screws for ACQ (Alkaline Copper Quaternary) treated wood for better corrosion and rust resistance. The treated torx screws like the Redline 2-1/2 Inch Long Torx Trailer Screw for ACQ Treated Wood, part # TFX250ACQ, are plated with a material that will resist the ACQ preservative used in treated wood, which is very corrosive because of the high levels of copper it contains. I was able to go out to our warehouse and find that the outer diameter of the # TFX150ACQ 1-1/2 inch long Torx Trailer Liner Screw for ACQ Treated Wood for you. I found using a digital caliper like # PTW80157 the head has a diameter of 0.458 inches. I have linked the screw to this page for your convenience.

  • Corrosion Resistant Screws Recommended For A Snowmobile Trailer
I do have a solution for you but the 1-1/2" Long Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 are not treated so these would not be ideal for the use you have in mind. The 1-1/2" Long Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw for ACQ Treated Wood # TFX150ACQ from Redline are subjected to a 1,000 hour salt spray test for superior corrosion resistance and would be better choice. They are not sold in quantities of 40 but you can purchase individually as needed.

  • What Fasteners to Use to Secure Erickson E-Track to Trailer Interior
Erickson E-Track should be secured to the mounting surface with no fewer than 2 fasteners per linear foot per side, so for example a 3-foot section would need no less than 8 fasteners. The type and length of fastener depends on the mounting surface more than anything else. The screws used should be either stainless or galvanized and they should be long enough to take full advantage of the depth of material at the mounting point. If you were install the tracks on 3/4-inch or 1-inch thick...

  • How are the Long Black Torx Wall Liner Screws Measured
The 1" Long Black Torx Wall Liner Screw part # WLS100 is measured from the head to the tip, so it is 1" long from the highest point to the lowest point. It uses a T25 bit like part # TX425. We do have the Long Black Torx Wall Liner Screws available in 1-1/2" long part # TFX150, 2-1/4" long part # TFX225, and 2-1/2" long part # TFX250 but these use a T30 bit like part # TX430-1.

  • Recommended Trailer Floor Screws for Attaching 1 Inch Decking Boards to 3/16 Inch Steel Angle Iron
As long as you have a pilot hole the screw threads will be strong enough to withstand threading through the angle iron. You should be fine with the 1-1/2 inch screws like # TFX150ACQ you were looking at. For your setup the 1-1/2 will be sufficiant but you can also go with the longer 2-1/4 inch screws # TFX250ACQ. Both of these will work but you will just have more screw poking through on the other end with the longer ones. Since you are attaching treated wood to your trailer, I recommend...

  • Mounting Hardware and Spacing when Installing 3 Inch Wide Continuous Steel Hinge
Customers have used screw # TFX150 with matching bit # TX430-1 for wood. Self-tapping machine screws would work for metal surfaces in a size the same as or close to # TFX150. There isn't a set amount you have to use. Three would be the minimum. One on each end and one in the center. Five would be better. It all depends on the application. I would start with 5 placed evenly apart and see if that is going to work and then go from there.

  • Torx Trailer Floor Screw Recommendation that is 2-1/2 inch Diameter
We have the 2-1/2" Long Torx Screw # TF01250 which is 2-1/2 inch long and has a bit of a tap built into the head of the screw but would need to have a small pilot hole drilled to work the best. This is 1/4 inch diameter and we do not have a 5/16 inch diameter option. For a Torx bit we have the part # TX430-1 too.
