Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT Custom Fit fifth wheel bracket kit for the Dodge Trucks. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2006 to 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 extended crew cab trucks. Also the 2003 to 2012 Dodge Ram and Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. Now on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application.
Now these brackets right here, these are designed to mount beneath your truck bed, and they provide the attachment points for your fifth wheel base rails to attach to. It does require the CURT base rails, works with the part number C16104, C16204, or the C16205. We carry all three of those. Difference between those three is just the finish on them. Now these do provide a custom fit by mounting to existing holes that are in your vehicle's frame.
You can see the holes already drilled in these mounting brackets. These will line up with the holes on your vehicle, so it minimizes the amount of drilling that's required. So it cuts the insulation time in half when compared with just the universal bracket kits that are out there. It will include everything shown here on the table, includes all four of the mounting brackets, all the necessary hardware for installation, and even a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe how it all goes together. Now these parts have a nice black powder coat finish on them to resist corrosion, and they are designed to work with industry standard rails that are compatible with B&W, CURT, Draw-Tite, Reese, and Husky Above Bed fifth wheel trailer hitches.

Good kit for my 2011 ram 3500 8’ bed, I do wish we would’ve got a measurement for the frame brackets but it was easy to figure out. Definitely worth the money and accurate measurements that were provided for the bed rails.
I ordered a fifth wheel brackets and hitch along with curt brake controller and pigtail. Everything fit great with no problems and the service and shipping was very speedy. Highly recommend etrailer for all your needs.

The Curt 16420 kit I purchased was just as advertised. The service was outstanding, everyone I spoke with was very courteous and helpful to the extreme. Wayne, Dana and Steve met all my needs and offered extended help. Unfortunately the kit did not match up to the unit I have. It fit my vehicle but the hitch rails were not compatible with the kit. I will certainly use etrailer.com for my future needs.

It is working fine and I actually could use another one , but dont have the assets to do it at the moment. Thanks for the follow-up.
Installation was straight forward and easy. Only issue is that it mounted the hitch a little farther back that i would have liked which caused the truck to squat down a lot which also caused it to sway about 55. I fixed this by installing air bags in the back

Everything has worked good except even with the bolts torqued to spec the rails have shifted slightly causing the hitch to be difficult to install and remove.
Product is solid. It is a little difficult to get to some of the nuts to tighten and no way you are getting a torque wrench on a few. We did snap one of the u bolts tightening it, but etrailers excellent customer service sent me a replacement hardware kit.
Needed this kit quick for 800 mile trip to PA where I was to purchase our 5th wheel toyhauler and drive back to TN. Lisa D from Etrailer assisted. Actually she spent a lot of time making sure part would be correct fitment and arrive on time. She hit the mark and plan went down splendidly. Quality of kit is very heavy duty and well built. The only thing odd was from Curt. Their videos and advice of installation were kind of weird since they have you drilling holes in truck bed then checking to see if hardware matched up. Not me, I measured several times and got all the holes right first time around. It’s a solid setup for my Ram 2500 that’s capable of pulling more than my truck can handle. Exhaust hanger on my truck rubs the bracket just a bit but could be ground down if I was concerned. Thanks Lisa D. for sticking through my order and getting it right all for a relatively small purchase. My family and I will be safer for your recommendations. Take Care.
Fit well, instructions were great. video on youtube was priceless. I would recomend this product for the same application any day. 2004 dodge ram 2500 quad-cummins (larger tank than gasser?). no problem with clearance.

Still working as it should. am impressed not with the ease of install but the product design of form fit and function. installation could prob. not be made easier but it is a task that needs to be done by mechanically inclined person.
Had to get this to finish the install of my hitch. I would include pictures but everything is under the bed but above the spare tire. I was very happy with all the great communication; this ranges from 'expected to have the item in stock on a certain date' to 'Your item has shipped'! This is our 2nd purchase from etrailer.com and we will be sure to come back for any future needs we might have. Hoping our current hitch will work with any 5th wheel we purchase. If not, we'll come here!!
This is my first install into a dodge and it went by the directions. I needed to be exact to the measurements or it would've missed the designed location around the front bed rail and not landed in the center of the rear bed rail. Fishing the plates and bolts thru the frame rail and the spacers into the rear bed rail was a added challenge and definelty a under estimate on the time factor for the first time. 90 minutes only for the experienced installer. All the needed hardware was included minus the bed rails.
Was very easy to install, no frame drilling and trying to fish bolts thru frame. Had everything but brackets. Thank very happy with it. Only way to install.
These rail brackets bolted right up to the frame of my 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 Long bed. Was an easy install, fairly straightforward for anyone with a little mechanical know how. They pulled great, I'd highly recommend them. A good tool or part should get the job done, no questions asked. This part gets the job done. 5/5
what can I say other than product I purchased from etrailer was exactly what I wanted and it fit perfect,took less time to install than it said it would thanks again everything fit right and worked right
I was surprised on how easy it was to install and follow the instructions. I got the brackets installed by myself it did take a little longer than the instructions said but all in all I will order again if needed though here
The product I ordered was exactly what I needed at a much cheaper price than I could find anywhere else. It doesn’t get much easier than direct bolt on parts. Shipping was fast and easy with no hassle.
