Question:
If I have a universal curt bracket and rail kit out of a 2006 ford f350, will it bolt on to a 2012 dodge 2500 8foot bed? I have a curt 20k 5th wheel hitch. It looks like the brackets for the dodge rams are different?

Expert Reply:
A universal 5th wheel base rail kit, such as the Curt # C16100, will fit a wide variety of pickups and so can be moved from the 2006 Ford F350 to your 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 with 8-foot bed. Universal base rail kits like this tend to take longer to install and require more drilling than custom kits.
We do offer vehicle-specific custom install kits that use under-bed brackets intended specifically for your 2012 Dodge Ram 2500. These custom brackets will cut your install time in half. You can use your existing base rails along with the custom install kit, part # C16420. This includes the four under-bed brackets as well as all required hardware. Installation instructions for this kit are included.
