Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 2006 Saturn Vue
Question:
This video uses the flat plug. The trailer I have to pull for our camping group has the large round plug to match the plug on my motorhome. I want to be able to move the trailer with the Saturn and would like to keep the connections simple by having matching plugs without using adapter extensions

In order to add a 7-Way trailer connector your Saturn Vue you will first have to install a 4-Way using # 118418. Then to add a 7-Way you have 2 options. If all you want is for the lights to work on the trailer when you tow it with the Vue then you would need # 37185. You would ground the white wire and the other wires can be capped off and stowed out of the way.
If you want all the functions of the 7-Way to work you would install the 4-Way but use # ETBC7 to add the 7-Way. If the trailer has electric brakes you would also need a brake controller. I recommend the P2, # 90885, because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable.
I have included some links to the right that will help with this installation.
