Question:
I HAVE A 2015 CHEVY 2500 HD. I DO NOT BELIEVE IT HAS THE FACTORY TOW PACKAGE. WHAT DO I NEED TO INSTALL A TRAILER BRAKE SET UP ON THIS VEHICLE? THE PREVIOUS OWNER INSTALLED A TRAILER HITCH AND THE SEVEN WAY WIRING HARNESS.

Hi Al; with a 7-way already installed the only thing you need to use trailer brakes is the brake controller. I believe all of the 2015 Silverado 2500 models come with the factory wiring. If there is a plug that looks like the # HM40975 connected to a factory wiring harness at the back that is the same as the OEM wiring. You can also check for a tow port under the dash.
I attached an installation video below for a 1500, your tow port should be in the same or a similar location. If the plug looks like it matches the picture below you can use the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED26CR you were looking at. This comes with a custom wiring harness for a plug and play installation.
If by chance they ran wires and installed a kit like our # ETBC7 you will have to hardwire the brake controller. For this you will need the # RED24FR along with the Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED69FR.

Hey Al, how did things go with the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty brake controller on your Silverado 2500? Did the factory tow port under the dash match up for the plug-and-play setup? Your update could make it easier for others adding a brake controller to a similar truck.
