Hey Jon,

I'd be happy to help you pick out all the flat towing components your 2012 Fiat 500:

Baseplate: Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # 522013-1A. This is a fit for Pop, Sport, and Abarth manual transmission models.

Tow Bar: Since you're stuck with Roadmaster's crossbar style baseplate you could go with the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar # RM-501 or you could upgrade to a hitch mounted tow bar like the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e44ZR. This tow bar comes with a built in rise/drop, cable holder, and safety cables already mounted to the arms so you won't have to purchase them separately.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This will splice into your factory tail light wiring to display your motorhome's traffic signals through your Fiat's tail lights.

Braking System: Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo # SM99251. Since your motorhome has hydraulic disc brakes and most portable braking systems have a hard time fitting correctly in smaller model vehicles like your 500 this system is going to be the best option. It will have an air cylinder, pulley, and G-Force controller to install inside the cab but compared to other systems this is going to leave you with the most room. The main unit can be installed in the engine compartment instead of inside the vehicle, taking up much needed space.

This system does have an indicator light that will turn on to let you know when the brakes are being applied in the Fiat. This does require tapping into the brake light switch, which unfortunately isn't an option on your Fiat so you'll need to install a stop light switch kit # RM-751455 for the braking signal for this light.

Safety Cables: If you end up choosing the Roadmaster # RM-501 then you'll also need to pick up some safety cables # RM-643.

Optional: I also recommend installing a charge line kit to keep the Fiat's battery charged while you tow. There's nothing worse then getting to your destination and then the car won't start because the battery is dead. For the vehicle side you'd need part # RM-156-25. If your motorhome doesn't have a charge line ran to the 7-way then you can also pick up the # RM-156-75.
