Hello, We recently borrowed a Rola Vortex cargo basket from a friend and are looking to purchase our own. However, it seems that Rola no longer makes that basket. I think he had put on aftermarket brake lights. Can you recommend something comparable?

I would be happy to! The Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket item # C18115 would be the closest comparable option to a Rola Vortex cargo basket and it comes in different sizes. This one measures 41-1/2" Long x 37" Wide x 4" Deep and has a 150 lbs capacity. This would be perfect for a car, mid-size SUV, or a van.

If you are driving a larger suv like a Tahoe you could use the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket item # C18115-117. This one measures 64-1/2" Long x 39" Wide x 7-1/4" Tall. Both of these cargo baskets attach to most factory and aftermarket roof racks. You will want your crossbars spaced between 22" and 50" apart on center.

I don't know why anyone would put lights on a cargo basket so on the off chance that you're talking about a hitch mounted cargo carrier not a basket, you could use the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches item # 63153 or item # 63155 if your vehicle has a 1-1/4" hitch. Reese is now owned by the company that bought out Rola so this would be a comparable cargo carrier if you used one of theirs.
