I see it requires 1.25inch shank for hitch ball. How long should it be?

A hitch ball like the part # A-90 would work great with the Curt weight distribution system part # C17499. This has a shank diameter of 1-1/4 inch and a length of 2-5/8 inch. There isn't an exact length requirement but this length for sure works well.
