Wider And Flatter Replacement Cradle Option For A Thule Roadway 4-Bike Carrier

Question:

I have a 914 XT and I want to replace a couple of the cradles with wider ones. The current ones arent wide enough to handle my Trex Domaine top rail. I think there should be something a little flatter that I can slide on my 1 cradle arms.

For your Thule Roadway 4 Bike Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches TH914XT, which is no longer available, I recommend replacing your current Stay-Put Cradles # 853-7887 with the:

-Replacement T2 Cradle Body for Thule Bike Carriers # 853-5829.

You are also going to need different straps # 753-3535 for the new cradle as the old ones aren't compatible.

This cradle is wider and flatter and should be a great fit your Trek Domaine.

Hey there. You have any cradles for one inch arms with an even wider cradle, closer to 2”? Many thanks, Brandon

@Brandon Brandon, we do also have the Replacement Cradles and Straps for Surco 2-Bike Carrier # SPN449 which fits a 1" frame and has a width of 1-3/4 inches. If you can let me know what bike rack you're looking for replacement cradles for, I'd be happy to take a look and see what we have.

@Brandon Gotcha, well if you're wanting a direct replacement then you can use the Replacement Standard Cradles for Hollywood Racks Hanging Bike Racks # HR740-P. The Replacement Cradles and Straps for Surco 2-Bike Carrier # SPN449 will physically fit, but I can't say for sure how well it'd work with your rack.
