In order to convert the 4-way on a 2022 Ford Maverick to a 7-way you'll need the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way part # ETBC7L. This kit comes with the actual adapter and everything else you need such as wires, connectors, and circuit breaker. It also retains a 4-way connection as well. If you plan to tow a trailer with brakes then you'll also need a trailer brake controller for which I recommend the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 because it's wireless so you don't have to splice and it works great with the above adapter.

I need to add the reverse lights to my 7 pin connector on a Ford Maverick Hybrid 2022 due to having a trailer with surge brakes (needs reverse light power signal to disengage surge brakes when backing). Where do I tap into the Maverick for that signal? Tailights? Which wire? Will tapping into confuse the load management computer? Do I meed to use the signal wire to a relay and pull the power from a separate accesory circuit? I don't know how many amps a surge brake solenoid draws.
