Will Yakima Overhaul HD Truck Bed Ladder Rack 68" Extend Beyond The Width Of 2021 GMC Sierra 1500?

I am ready to purchase the Yakima overhaul HD for my 2021 Sierra 1500 with a Retrax XR. The question I have is the HD crossbar length. I do not want the bars to extend beyond the width of the truck, the 68” look like they will protrude. The 60” would be the best fit for for my preference but I want to verify they will work with my truck. Thanks in advance.

The 60" Yakima Overhaul HD Truck Bed Ladder Rack # Y01151-5755 is not confirmed to fit your 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 so you will instead want to go with the 68" version # Y01151-58 which is confirmed to fit. This is designed to fit onto your Retrax XR rails. The crossbars are aerodynamic and feature the common T-slot track for any track-mounted accessories. The T-slot channel is 62" long while the crossbar itself is 68" long. You can measure your truck to be sure, but my research tells me that the 68" crossbars will not extend beyond the width of your truck like you were concerned about.
The on-road weight capacity is 500lbs while the off-road weight capacity is 300lbs. The rack itself is lightweight at only 50lbs when taking into consideration the impressive weight capacity of the ladder rack. A really nice feature is the height adjustment which allows you to adjust the crossbars from 19" to 30" above the truck bed rails. I attached a demonstration video for you.
