What is a Deep Drop Bumper? How Do I Know If I Have One?

Question:
What is a Deep Drop Bumper
asked by: Charles B
Expert Reply:
A deep drop bumper is also known as a cowboy bumper. It is taller than a regular bumper, and would use a receiver that is lower than what would be used on the same vehicle that was equipped with a standard bumper.
If you click on the provided link, you can see our Bumper FAQ article that will explain it in full.
If your 1999 Ford F series has the cowboy bumper, the # C15316 would work great for you. If you have the standard bumper, # C14355 would be a better choice. This hitch will only fit if your spare tire is on a wheel smaller than 20 inches in diameter.
