It is always a good idea to have a weight capacity safety margin in your car hauler towing set up. In other words, for a loaded tandem-axle trailer with a 6500-lb GVWR you will do well to use tires that give you closer to an 8K total capacity. In your ST205/75-15 tire size we offer radials load ranges B, C and D; you definitely want to stick with that same D load range.
Tires that are operated below their maximum capacity will run cooler and cooler tires tend to last longer and have fewer issues. Other causes of heat build-up are driving over the tire's rated speed or running the tire at an incorrect pressure.
If you are doing mostly interstate highway driving (with higher speed limits) then I would go for the Westlake # LHWL300. This tire is rated for 2150-lbs at 65-psi and it carries an L speed rating, meaning it is good for up to 75-mph. This tire also has a 5-Year warranty (!) and includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
If you need a higher speed rating use the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # TR20515D which handles the same weight but which is rated to 81-mph.
