Does Short Bed 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 Need to Use Slider Hitch Towing 2020 Montana 3741FK

I just purchased a 2020 Montana 3741fk dry weight 13,755 and will be purchasing a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500hd diesel to tow it. The 2020s are slightly longer 69inch box. 1 Do I need to purchase a slider hitch for this size box? 2 What payload capacity should I be concerned with? Some say the 2500hd is to close to the maximum, whereas the 3500hd is only about 600lbs more. My GMC dealer tells me the 2020 2500hd has ample payload for this Montana. The hitch weight on the Montana is 2560lbs. Thank you for your help,

The towing capacity for the 2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD with the diesel engine is very impressive. I did some checking and it looks to be 27,500 lbs which means the trailer you are considering that weighs 13,755 lbs would be very easily towable.
Now whether you need a slider hitch with the short bed does come down to a few factors since the short bed you mentioned is a bit longer than usual. If the trailer has a tapered nose and an extended pin box you most likely would not need a slider hitch. I checked out the 2020 Montana 3741FK and it does have a tapered nose and an extended cushioned pin box so it would not require you to use a slider hitch.
