What Does Open Ground Error Code Mean for 30 Amp Shore Power Socket
Published 11/12/2019 >
Question:
My research led me to Honda. They confirmed that the generator is not grounded, therefore, the indicator will show this, however, this is normal, and perfectly safe. You can ground the generator to a spike but this is not necessary. thanks for the follow up.

A single yellow light on the Camco RV Power Defender, part # CAM55312 that you referenced indicates an open ground like you can see on the picture I attached. This is typically caused by a broken wire or bad connection in side the socket/plug of your generator.
So what this means though is that your 30 amp power socket can STILL work since your electrical path is between the hot and neutral pins. The ground is a path in case of a short in equipment. So basically you don't have as safe of a setup in case of a short so I'd recommend having the generator looked at.
