Does Camco RV Power Defender Circuit Analyzer Reset Itself After a Surge

Updated 07/24/2020 | Published 08/12/2019

Question:

Is this a one and done surge protector or will it reset if power gets in a useable range again?

Camco does make a version of the Camco RV Power Defender Circuit Analyzer Dogbone # CAM55312 that does automatically reset itself with the Voltage Protector part # CAM55301 but the part # CAM55312 will only take one surge before it needs to be replaced. It's like a fuse whereas the Protector is like a breaker in that it resets.

I attached a review video for the Protector for you to check out as well.

I have 2 30A circuit analyzer with surge protection. One, the blue surge light is not lit. There other, once of the yellow circuit lights is not as bright as the other. Do i get a 3rd one? A separate surge protector? Help

If the blue light is no longer illuminating it means the unit has actually experienced a surge episode (and protected your camper). You'll want to replace the unit for which I recommend the Camco # CAM55301. You may want to inspect the wiring of your camper along with where you plug in too just to be sure there isn't any damage that would have caused that surge that needs to be repaired.
